Virtuoso's Set

Just got enough points to get a Virtuoso's set, activated the barding mastery, invigorate, didn't see any special bonus boost, how does it work ?

Besides, the tunic doesn't allow meditation, too bad.

The tunic needs a mage armour imbue, I don't think the dev's thought that through when creating, as for activating the bonus, it's basically for provoking or in my case disco'ing a very difficult creature, like a lady M for example, but useless with the masteries with its short duration?

Where did you see anything that says this set has any effect on success chance of provo or discoing ? Only info I can find suggests this set increases the effects given by your bard mastery by 2.

geez - you have to double click the individual piece of armor to activate the bonus - each piece has its own cooldown timer and there's 4 pieces

The bonus only effect the % to disco, provoke or peace a monster, it does not effect the bard spell masterys. It would have been nice to have the bard armor and fishing armor have some kind of passive bonus if you have the full set on. I just keep 6 neck pieces in my pack and switch them out when I need to disco a boss.

now when i look at effects I see :

Activate: Bard Mastery Bonus X2 <-- now when I click that link it just takes me to the bard mastery pages, I see nothing about increase chance to disco or provoke my target....... ???? Once again where are you seeing this information that says it increases success chance with the skill ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Just put on the glove, and double click it, a message saying the magic of Virtuoso enhanced my BARD MASTERY. Then, I immeidately activate the invigorate mastery, it has no bonus at all, just +20, +8,+8,+8, same as no glove.

Why ?

Yeah I am totally confused. I was going to buy one of these sets, but why if they litterly do nothing what so ever.

The passive effect of a Bard Mastery is a +10% chance of success in the skill of the mastery. When a suit piece is active that bonus is doubled to +20%. Do not confuse bards mastery with a bard song.

I guess, but if I read this Bard Masteries - UOGuide, the Ultima Online encyclopedia It still tends to lead me down the road that it effects the songs and not chance to disco a mob...

Yeah but that artical doesn't make any distinction between a mastery and the song..... it would almost seem to suggest the mastery is the songs.... IE you obtain a mastery which gives you these songs so by that train of thought improving the mastery 20% would improve those songs by 20% and not success chance to bard a monster IE lower its stats with disco.... But I guess to prove to my self i could buy the set equip a dragon slayer the suit and see how successful I am at discoing rikkitor....

From the item property descriptions on the client:

Bard Mastery Bonus is an item property found on the Virtuoso's set. Bards with any mastery gain a 5% bonus to their success chance when using any bard skills and a 10% bonus when using the skill of their mastery focus. When active this property doubles the bard mastery bonus to a 10% bonus when using any bard skill and a 20% bonus when using the bard mastery focus skill.
