What he meant was that someone who was going to sell plain bandages would make more money by selling them to NPCs instead of the OP.

The only real incentive here is for someone who has 2,000,000 bandages. It would be really time-consuming to sell that many to NPCs, so they could unload them all at once to the OP instead. But then, who really has 2,000,000 bandages laying around?
