"So It Shall Be Written, So It Shall Be Done"......"Build It and They Will Come"

Tonight, The PaxLair Statehood meeting took place in Skara Brea. Even though the Rioters were pounding at the doors of the Tavern, the meeting took place anyway.

After the meeting, everyone was invited to the "first" CONSULATE Building to be built in the new town of "OASIS", the new town formed in Malas for the heart felt welcome of New and returning Players, once the town gets the rest of the foundations built.

Inside the 1st Consulate, Nidaros set up a welcoming office. The Governor of PaxLair also chose a 2nd floor office with a view of the wildlife that roam Malas. Lady Ashlynn, reporter for the PaxLair Times, will decide on her office in the near future. There are 6 offices in this 1st Consulate Building and 3 are remianing to be filled.

Now remember.......The purpose of thses offices and new Consulate buildings going up is to establish a "secondary" area where new and Returning players can come or be brought, be re-aquainted with the game or introduced to it, a chance to see old friends or old guilds, and brought with open arms into a guild of their choice, along with many benefits that are being added.

We all want to help the New and Returning Players as much as possible and our hearts are really into this. But to do something for others and make it fun, it needs the support of players like yourselfs to make such a thing happen. To have an office or Consulate Building in this town will show everyone that Chessy and its players all support each other and band together for the goodness of all. Don't you think thats what this game is all about?

So come show your support by participating in such an endevor and lets show others what we are capable of. (I don't beleive a town such as this has ever been attempted. A town where all guilds are represented)

Thanks...

from the reporting desk of Nidaros at the new Consulate Building in OASIS.

ps....i was told that an old tavern by that same name once exsisted. It is now in the works to revive that ole' Tavern in the newly formed town of OASIS. drinks and entertainment will be on the house when completed. So leave your gold at home.

Yes, Oasis Tavern was well known in the early days located in the desert north of Britain near Compassion Shrine.

Thank you Lady CaT. We'll let the young lady Donna know that her tavern carries a historical name!

For those towns not yet aware of the rules to ESTABLISH A CONSULATE at the Oasis project:

The arrangements for a safe, neutral meeting ground for all Chesapeake towns to coordinate activities, are completed. You will find it is a convenient time saver to just go to one (or a few) buildings next to each other to leave messages, or get them. All towns are invited to join the 'no obligation' plan and you will be able to reach the leadership of other towns, no matter who is the town leader at the time. Using this consulate technique, it won't matter where town leaders live, or whether or not they have a private house, a message board or mailbox. The towns, and even the guilds in a separate way, will have message boards. And it can all be done 'in the realm'.

ALL YOU NEED for your official town to establish an embassy, is to arrange construction of a consulate, OR to acquire secure space within a pre-existing consulate building. If it is a shared building, one leader of your town will be given co-owner status, and they will secure your containers and the office door and such. In either case, others can attend open meetings, but only the town leader(s) registered with the Oasis mayor, and identified by their unique UO chat ID, can represent your town during a vote.

If you wish to arrange for example, which towns or guilds can help repel invasions, or anything of interest involving towns and guilds, this would be the place to do it. An executive meeting room and a small select rune library for such matters, are free for your use. For those who missed a 'debate', secure votes can be deposited in the mayors mailbox up to 5 days after an in house decision, by a registered town voter, and a secure code can be generated as proof of who voted. REGISTERED TOWNSHIPS will receive a box of information, a preloaded rune book, and a certificate. Sadly, unregistered townships do not have access to some diplomatic areas or authority to vote, but are still welcome to participate.

YOU MIGHT ALSO REMEMBER that you are likely to catch a large percentage of the new or returning people in the area, and can view the latest list of who came thru town.

Who just returned? Check the "Returning Player's List". I've spent time with over 100 returning people so far over the years, and they all had the same view. They longed for more time in the realm, even 10 years after they departed. Quite a few were here on Day One. Now aren't those the kind of people you want to catch up with?

Welcome to the update of the Oasis 'project'. The town procedures being established, and future construction having been arranged for the Guild Hall, which allows players to select from many guilds all represented in one place, are complete. The ongoing data collection of Guild information, returning players, and experienced experts for training is close enough to being done that it is ready for the general public. Transferring information to records that can be accessed 'in game' is a bit tedious, however. The mini lecture subjects have been written in three "How to do stuff" books to be passed out. Information on adding your town to the list of consulates is written in the "Consulate Guide" book. Town residents receive a pretty nifty Oasis Resident certificate available free via the magic portals of 'email' that you can print out for your wall. THose who have examined the project have the following to say, "This is great!", "It's about time!", and "I never saw anything like this!"

On June 2nd, a Saturday, and continuing for 2 or 3 additional days, the opening ceremonies will take place. On that day you will be able to take a complete tour and see how it's all set up. The town 'banner' display, if not yet constructed at the bridge to the island, can still be seen via it's full scale mockup in the Mayor's Building. The very concept and purpose of the Town of Oasis is embodied on the banner. Two Tiles, Sacrifice and Compassion, were donated by a famous Lord of Nidaros, who also constructed the first Consulate building. The banner wall engravings proclaim :
" Crafter, Warrior, Sage - Are the True Gems of the Realm "
" For Those we Lost - For Those Returned - & Those Yet to Meet "

The exact start time on Saturday morning will be Noon EST for short speeches and open tours. Later in the day will be more of the prepared activities. Runes and Event Books will be distributed days before the event. Prizes for young or returning players who have already been helped at Oasis will include a new Ship, engraved custom armor and weapons, and house items.

We DO want Fel based guilds. This is the way for all guilds to have a chance at the returning players. One in three I meet want to go back to the glory days of PvP combat. If you can get meet in Oasis, you can get a tour and see how it is to work. June 2nd is opening day, so before that is better. It would also be useful to explain in a book a little about the faction items, like the bandages and such, for people. What we need is a book with a page or more about the guild. What it does and where is operates, more or less. Do you sail the seas? Do you help train people? Tell things like that. It would be greatly appreciated.

If you need to get to Oasis before the Luna hub is linked, ride to the next to last SW little island in Malas. The southernmost 3 story white building, the mayor's office, has a mailbox. If you can't get to Tram I will get to you .

I am quite sad to note that the consulate building had fallen. Maedhros has not been seen in a long while. They have been one of the main reasons I return to the realm. Their professional attitude and dedication beyond all measure were a founding element in the town of Oasis. far more can be said, but I await their return. I feel as if I have awaited their return in the past over the long years. They are sorely missed.

I'm glad you're sticking around many of us have seen your great attitude and dedication to the Oasis project as well and are Grateful for it. Things will pick back up soon and hopefully Maedhros return to work with you once more. When my friend Lady CaT leaves for awhile her houses fall but it doesn't matter because she always comes back and rebuilds (Thank God because if she didn't I would go even more crazy :tinhat: )
