Ok I have a pretty good sampire witha nice set of identical uber radiant scimitars with dif slayers. But my suit lacks some. I have made and shield and I was thinking of making a plate suit around it. I've seen everyone do wooden suits for elves but I like being human and I don't see any problems with a nice plate suit, also it looks good :). I've already fund one one here im going to try and emulate but does anyone have any human armor for a samp they'd like to show off? Particularly plate? What r the pros and cons of plate for a sampire? If it's not medable does it negate MR bonuses? Thanks guys

I currently have 2 sampires (well, mine and my wife's) in plate suits and have made a couple of other for people.

Being metal it negates the bonus to MR from Meditation. But honestly, as a sampire, MR is about useless- except when you are rez'ing and waiting to get back into action.

You'll end up wanting to make a lot of armor pieces to get perfect/near perfect ones. And you'll want to use the Forged Metal of Artifacts (or risk losing the piece to enhancing). You can make the suit without enhancing, but I wouldn't recommend it.

I'd sit down, list out all the arties you are going to use (mace and shields, conjurer's trinket/robe, ranger's cloak, ect) and then figure out what are the rest of the stats you are going to need.

Ok I understand the negates the mediation. But what about MR from your suit? Does it negate that as well?

And hello man, ur suit on a previous thread is the one im building mine after lol. I like the whole knight sampire idea where u actually LOOK like a tank. But I also saw that u had MI and LMC. Do you run into problems with one on one long battles cause lightning strikes drain my mama eventually.

Also im a total noob at crafting. I no what everything is minus reforging...any help there. Also what's the best order in crafting a piece? Enhance first? Imbue first? I've literally played for about a decade and have never gotten into crafting. Thanks guy

No, it doesn't negate MR- but as a sampire, you really don't need mana regen.

As for lightning strike- I only use it if I don't have mana to armor ignore. That is why Mana Increase and Lower Mana Cost are so important. There are exceptions (like Rikktor) but I pretty much just Armor Ignore every swing in every battle. Well, that or Whirl Wind. Mana is only a problem if I get Mana Vampired or get some unlucky rolls (the amount of mana leached is random). I want my mana at least equal to the amount I need to AI twice at double the cost. So, that is like 48 mana. Really, if you haven't played one before, playing a sampire is really different than playing any other template (or at least the way I do it!).

As for crafting, I am sure there are others that are better than I, but this is how I do it.

You know that you are going to be imbuing Fire on each piece. So, when crafting the pieces, you want fire as low as possible. For plate- I look for pieces that have a base 5 or less in fire. Also, Physical. Because plate pieces start with 5 in physical resist- using mace and shields (25 physical resist) and enhancing you really need as few points as possible in physical as well. I look for pieces that have 11 points total or less between the 2. That means that only 3 points (or less) of the Arms Lore/Exceptional bonus are essentially wasted. I literally craft hundreds if not thousands of pieces for each suit I make.

Then, as I make each piece, it really doesn't matter what slot you start with, but I make pieces until I get like 5-10 pieces per slot that I am happy with. Then using a spread sheet, I start mixing and matching the pieces to find the best fit.

This is the order of how I do it-
1. Craft the pieces
2. find pieces for the suit
3. PoF the pieces chosen for the suit
4. Imbue the suit
5. Enhance

Platemail does not affect the MR property in a negative fashion at all, only Meditation.
My Elven "Whammy" (No Chiv, is an old Necro/Swordsman temp that i dumped Healing for Bushido) uses a set of imbued Bone Armor with the Jackal's Collar, a Conjurer's Trinket, Shadow Cloak of Rejuvenation, Crimson Cincture, Cloak of Death, and a Wooden Shield with +2 HPR/+40 Luck/+13% HCI/+13% DCI/FC 1/10% Low Req. Both pieces of Jewelry have 15% HCI/15% DCI/FC 1/FCR 3. The Bone Armor itself has a total of 40% LMC/100% LRC, 6 MR, +15 Health (Caps at 25 with CC) and all 70's Resist even in Vampire/Wraith Form (Besides Cold Resist, which is at 68). He can not only strike hard with weapons, but also with Necromancy spells. I often times use Corpse Skin+Strangle, and then have a Revenant on the opponent too (If they don't Dispel like hell), and have up to 3 Reanimated undead on the opponent at the same time. Pretty hilarious having a Revenant and 3 Lich Lords on a target at once.

That's pretty much what i do.

As far as crafting I feel all caught up, except for reforging. Does that shave. Role to play at all? Thanks guys now I can't wait for work to end so I can hop on

For my swords sampire, I run radiant scimitars and long swords. I've considered some other swords weapons, but I like having a free hand for potions and the occasional shield.

The scimitar is for clearing spawn, the Long Sword is for the champ/boss/whatever. :)

Yeah I just use the scims for pretty much everything, tho I lack a good daemon slayer.
I like to stay in printed caves a lot so my respond slayer is really overworked but it does what it does.

What about reforging?

I've messed around with reforging a little bit. But honestly I haven't had a chance to really get into it like I need to before offering advice on how to do sampire armor with it.

I am not sure how well it will work out, unless you are able to make near perfect pieces before you enhance that are >500 points in intensity. But, I really don't want to comment on it more until i've had a chance to really work with it.

I use Katanas for my AI wep. If the opponent has a real low Resist that i'm hitting, i'll use Double Strike instead of AI for more damage. Conc Blow got nerfed to hell and back, so i don't really care for Longswords anymore.

I like the idea for the Double Strike, but I am not sure the katana does enough damage to leeching. I'll have to load it up on test center and try it out.

ok another noob question. when you say craft the item, do u mean just the normal item with iron ingots? or use a runic hammer until i get desired properties? if just regular ingots then i dont see the point in getting runic hammers at all.... thanks for your advice its helping alot.

I nearly always craft out of regular ingots for enhancing later.
