Surprisingly enough, I actually like these new forums ... alot

usually when people "upgrade" something, it sux (EC client is a prime example) - but the laws of the universe have actually been defied in this case because it's an actual improvement (I wasn't a huge fan of the last forums though to be honest - the one before the last one was better but this new one is faster and better optionwise so far and it's easier to read too - i'm impressed)

is there any setting for increasing the default number of threads/posts to display on the main page of the uhall? - seems like it's only about 20/25 right now - I'd like to bump that up a little

There's not yet, but I think I'll start a network-wide poll to get a sense for how many the default should be.

Whoa! We CANNOT have positivity here! This is a negativety only zone!!!

I'm on the fence. I don't mind change, don't think the forums are too much better and dont' seem worse. I like the 'like' option because half the time I reply just to put my weight behind someone's comments. I wish thought it had Thumbs Up/Down so you can see the like/dislike for a post.

Other than that - I think I can roll with it....

And yes, my near 6k post count has been reduced to visitor as well....

Right?

I have nothing between search and the button bar where Home ,forums ,stratics forum bar is.
And no animate below Home either.

What theme are you using? The black with the scrolling background? I just used a handy feature to test your specific permissions and I was able to see it. Can you upload a screen shot of the search bar area?

And no animate below Home either.

The style changer is located all the way at the bottom of every page. It's the bottom "home" breadcrum, rather than the top one. See if you can change it. If so, look again for the inbox up top.

On like the thread list? I'm afraid not. Not at the moment, anyway. That's how XF shows who started the thread and whether you've posted in it.

Still there and there are a couple of ways to access them.

1. From the index page, hover over the subforum dropdown on Shard Forums

2. From any page, click the quick navigation button (circled in red) and scroll to the desired forum

Am I the only one comparing the Stratics migration with the EA Account migration? Granted EA deals with subscription money so I'm sure that makes a difference..

But still, sounds like this was a lot of work on the admin end and still it was seamless on this end.

It'll take some tweaking as the staff (myself, included) try to learn their way around. Once that's done, though, we should be able to set cruise control again.

We're definitely more open to suggestions for improvements now, though. No new plugins were being made for the old forums and nobody on staff can code them, so we were limited.

I had my posts per page on vbulletin set to 40, which I believe was the default on UBB boards

I pick "sort threads by thread creation time" and then click set options but it doesn't seem to be remembering it when i close the browser and restart it - plz tell me i don't have to redo that setting each and every time i fire up the uhall - that would suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck

*pats the team on the back* so far this has been a welcome change! As a novice, I've had very little trouble figuring out how to fix, contact and find what I'm trying to watch. And I can ajust my settings so I can actually see what is written in a more comfortable color pallette.

To watch a thread, you can scroll to the very top of a thread and click "Watch Thread." You can manage your watch list via the dropdown menu attached to your name, near the search bar. To adjust the color pallet, click the style chooser at the bottom of every page (shown below):

The only down side I've found so far is on the main forums page you used to be able to "hide" all the forums you didn't give one iota about... now I have to scroll WAY down to get to the UOStratics forums.
