Subrscription Something Interesting...

While tring to set up my subscrtiption renewal with my debit card it kept taking me to a page that just says

Error Message
There was an error processing your request


So i finaly decided my luck on emailing customer billing suport and found this out...
and so apparently we cant use debit cards to do a reacuring account subscription...

I think he misunderstands you, if it has a visa or mastercard logo as far as EA can tell it IS a credit card, obviously a debit card without the logo (which would still work as debit anywhere that allows it) would not be able to process through such a system.

I get that same message with both my VISA card linked to my bank account and my actual credit card (which is basicly only used for large purchases and immediately paid off so i get the rewards points but don't pay any interest, so the balance on it being 0 is obviously fine). There's something severely wrong with their payment system and it happened in the switchover.

Also, your screenshot has too high of a compression level, and kinda looks like it was saved as jpeg then saved as png, i had to use the GIMP and apply a de-blur filter at full zoom to read it, you should crop the image to the relavant part only and use a lighter compression for text so it stays readable, if done right with a decent program you can make a very small image with even tiny text still readable.

I successfully renewed a subscription using a pre-paid cash card only last week.

If your subscription fails to go through, for any reason do not attempt to simply re-enter card details, remove the existing information first, then re-enter it. You need to go into the 'manage accounts' link at the top of the page, as shown in this page: UO Stratics *New* | Account Management

it wont let me remove any of my card details or the number or anything.

My recurring is a Debit, in big letters, but as Raptor85 posted, it does have a visa logo, I also keep a min balance to cover any temporary charges. good luck, keep us informed

I had that with buying things before (not w/ EA), I've even had problems in person. Sometimes they needed the # on the back, sometimes my entered zip code was incorrect, sometimes the zip in their file was incorrect.

I'd just try again, just start off w/ a different question, like Can I pay for my account with a debit card, it has a MC logo, then add recurring after that. Several said their luck changed with another person. No card was used previously?

Call from something like skype that has no long distance if you can, the hold times are quite long and the charge (for me at least, before I gave up) was full long distance rates, aka if you're on hold for 10 minutes you may as well have just given up and bought a prepaid visa for the extra $5 it costs.

not sure if you have try out following option.
- purchase gametime code via Origin store.. (i think only 3/6 months gametime available)
- apply the code via the Bioware Mythic Account management site..

By doing so you may save some money. :)

Hmm, musta typed something wrong in the first placer, removed the card and re-added it and tried to activate my museum account and it worked.
