here's a head scratcher

so you can make a boomerang and reforge it and it can come with Velocity on it.

but you cant imbue velocity onto it.
or even knock it down or increase it with imbuing.

but you can imbue it onto a bow.

i find that..... strange.

i UNDERSTAND it, its a different thing, reforging and imbuing, i just found it strange that i couldnt change it with imbuing today on a weapon i made.

its probably just me.

sounds like another mistakenly missed mod, velocity is supposed to be archery only, much like when they introduced the new shame loot it seems like reforging still has some bugs where properties and combinations either don't make sense or spawn on items they shouldn't.

It can be a glitch and/or a choice. Bows are two handed and have lower DPS than throwing weapons. So i can perfectly understand why one couldnt' imbue velocity on throwing weapons (choice).

Now of course there is no logic into enabling it through reforging (glitch).

All the reforging, new loot stuff is strange. It is like the system was designed/implemented by someone with no knowledge of UO crafting history.

I long for Wilki, Hanse and the others that knew what was up...

I don't think so... to make a system like reforging you must know more than enough about the crafting. The velocity thing probably is just a temporary bug (that was there in the SA beta too )

Maybe its just an intended benefit of using reforging over regular imbuing?

theres a few other things that you can reforge onto weapons that you cant imbue as well.

like those mana drains and life and stamina drains.

I think it is working as intended. Velocity is available on throwing weapons from Shame loot. It seems you can re-forge nearly all the Shame loot mods available (not Splintering weapon though)

Banshee's Call has Velocity, so it's not like it wasn't designed for throwing weapons

technically you could put velocity on any weapon or item and it would "work" so don't take it's existance on a single item as proof that it's meant to be for that item type, otherwise we'd all be imbueing max HLD onto armor since mace & shield glasses allows it, or HCI onto armor, etc... (special items are special for a reson, they allow mods not normally possible on that item type.)
