Another sampire thread

I've done a TON of reading, so dont slaughter me for these questions because i've spent literally hours combing the dark, ugly corners of the interweb, but it seems that there are no really good answers to the below questions (or maybe its just a matter of opinion in the end).

I'm building a sampire of course.

Questions.

1) Elf or Human. It seems i have to take elf if i want to use woodland armor with the 6 mods so theres not much choice here right (because i AM planning on making the 6 mod armor)?

2) Chivalry. I understand the pro's and con's i think. So tell me where i am wrong here. I want to run without ANY chivalry at all. Why? I don't think EOO is useful against anything but a single creature, because most mobs are made up of multiple creatures, and EOO will end up hurting you against them. so this is basically a useless spell for a sampire fighting mobs. Also, Consecrate weapon can be offset using 100% elemental weapons which i am planning on doing. So, why do i need chiv at all really?

3) LRC. Why is it needed at all? a set of arcane boots (blessed), plus regs = no need for LRC right?
Thanks in advance

1. Go Elf or no 6 mod woodland armor, plus built in night sight and additional mana makes it a no brainer IMO.

2. Chiv, if you don't have a slayer for what you're fighting you'll want EOO. Elemental weapons are nice but chaining armor ignore is nicer.

3. Not sure why you would want LRC on a sampire at all. Just carry blessed/insured arcane clothing in case you die and need to cast vamp embrace after ressing.

1) Elf. Not just for the woodland armor, but also for the mi.

2) Chivalry is a big deal. Do you want to fight boss mobs (e.g., peerless, renowned, champts)? Then you will definitely want EOO. Huge difference. Consecrate is also important. As a sampire, you will want to carry multiple types of slayers--let's say five types. Five slayers x five different damage times, you're talking about carting around 25 weapons. With Consecrate, you reduce this back to 5 weapons. Furthermore, remove curse is important if you don't have resist. Also, if you're hunting in Doom, dispel evil can also be handy. Finally, sacred journey will help you get around, unless you're planning to buy bulk recall scrolls to keep your runebooks active.

3) No need for LRC on a sampire. Just bring a blessed piece of arcane gear, as you mentioned.

Chiv is also how your going to handle upper level poison. It gives you freedom of movement with sacred journey. Elf is best for mana as well as armor. LRC isn't necessary for a pure sampire, but LMC sure is.

Sorry, I just dont get this. Who cares if i have to carry around 25 weapons to get all the slayers and elementals. Isnt that much better than wasting valuable skill points on chivalry that i could put into resist or parry etc?

Plus i can get around with runebooks with recall charges, so sacred journeys not important.

I dont have the answer here, im just not convinced yet that the benefits of chivalry outweigh the benefits of using the extra skill points for other skills

If we can't convince you, we can't convince you. Both chivalry and resist are easy to raise. Try it both ways.

Upper level poison now does far more damage and is a pain. Chiv is your only way without a mage around to heal it as opposed to just letting it get you. You will find that it isn't that easy to get all those 100% weapons. That being said if you take Chiv up high enough Cons Weapon will actually give you a bonus to DI. There are some people that don't run it but I would. Apples and pots are nice but if you lose them your in a tough spot. That happens more then anyone wants to admit if your doing a harry. I would recommend the chiv and swap out anatomy and resist using soul stones depending on what your fighting. That being said there are some that have tried the non chiv route. Its not a large number. Either way good luck.

i hear you. im leaning back towards chiv now. too bad really, because i was hoping to fit both parry and resist on the template which i could have done if i'd ditched chiv.

hmm. that made me consider another question. do i need fc/fcr for chiv. I would assume as a sampire you are getting hit alot. doesnt that interfere with your chiv spells?

Most cast fast enough that this isn't much of an issue. The only time I run into an issue is with remove curse when I have strangle cast on me. Its not to bad though as the casting times are low. Parry is useful but not as much as you would think to the way many temps are going now with chain AIing things. It does help when your tanking something really really nasty though.

What is optimal amount for chivalry?
85 seems to give you all you need. That being said it does scale up now. I don't think its worth going above 85 though unless your taking it to 120. That being said if your in a bind you can work the numbers on test and that might help you figure whats best for a specific temp.
