Calling all house owners!
Do you have a house that is 10 years old or more? We, in collaboration with the UO Team, want to locate them all.


Mesanna is asking for Vet Houses to step right up! Submit your house information if you have a house placed for 10+yrs to receive in game recognition of your accomplishments!


Fill in our simple form and tell us about it. Where is it? Shard, facet, co-ordinates. Find these with a sextant if you need to. Tell your friends too, we want to find every home 10 years and older on all shards. Help us find them all, Mesanna is counting on us!


Find the 'information' page on the house sign, enter the date in the same format as it is shown on the sign ( 2001-10-05 for the house pictured)





If you have a screenprint of the house, include a url please, or post it on a thread in the Homes and Castles Forum and include the thread link instead.
All the homes submitted will be featured in our Homes and Castles Reviews Section as we receive them.

I get the feeling that UO's database is such that doing such things which may sound easy really are not.

Someone might want to poke Gormach Von Leal, the owner of the Glowing Orb Museum on the LS shard.

I'm pretty sure that castle older than 10 years and that it's also been a rares museum for at least that long as well.

By all means, contact people you know. One of the reasons I have added a form to the post rather than ask for submissions on the boards is to make it accessible to people who are not registered on the boards.
Hopefully the wordpress plug in I have installed for the purpose will prove useful for future contests etc too.

My house sign has no built on date.

I believe the house (though since customized) was here from the beginning of the game.
I got ownership of this house back when housing ownership came into effect and you had to put a claim on each house.
So what was that? circa 1998-1999 maybe before publishes had a count?

Easy first check is Houses that are Pre "Age of Shadows" (February 11, 2003)?;
as in Pre- Malas/Luna/Umbra/, and of course, pre-Tokuno Islands

Cuz it would be sooooo hard to take a pic of something your proud of and get recognized.

Do they hafta do everything for you/us?
Even when they give stuff away or try to give older players recognition someone just has to find fault with it.

Than if players found out they were wasting time on such a trivial thing (like a script to find old houses) instead of fixing all these bugs [/end sarcasm]

I personally wish i did still have one of my first houses. I would love to show off something from 99-00. But I`ve switched houses and locals way to many times. =( Now if I would have had a castle.... I`d still have that!

Will be cool to see some of the houses and dates they got placed. Hopefully alot of screenies will follow.

Will this information (locations) be shared among the public or not? If it will be shared, I decline. If it is private then I will share. Weird right? I just don't want idoc'ers recalling in and out constantly waiting for something that has stood for many many years to fall. I don't want or need the traffic in Fel either.

My houses were placed either right near the end of 97 or start of 98ish.

I'll get screenies as soon as I get home.

(even though 3 of my 5 grandfathered houses are 7x7's I love them just the same. And with the advent of making so many items "stackable" I've been able to use them efficiently as store houses... And yes, they are all basically beside each other on one shard.)

I had 4 or 5 on the same account on Atlantic server around the Clan Moor tower area that were older than the one I posted (on a different shard) but I let a rl friend play the account and he got it banned. I managed to pass the house above to a different account just before the ban. The rest of the houses went into decay along with all the named pk body parts and other fun stuff I had collected. =(

102' 24N 29' 52E on Chesapeake in Felucca

While I didn't place this house, it was handed over to me in 2007 to keep it from going into decay. The original owner didn't want such an old house falling. They placed it sometime in 1998 I believe as that design was removed from the game at some point after Add-ons were made available. (Notice the Half Forge, that is not an Add-on it came with the floor plan).

Even though I love my Castle and I love to customize my own houses, those old classic *crafter* templates are still my favorite. It's good to see some of them still exist, that right there is UO History.

This whole idea, for whatever purpose, is really cool. I activated my original account in 2003 so even if I did have my original house it would only be 8 years old.

There might still be some towers in feluccia, (on some of the original shards)
that have small houses built on the roof. Also back then there was no rule of spacing between houses. I would have to start looking again and see if any still exist, but that was during the first year or two that UO was around. Before Trammel existed.

Maybe there can be a guild recognition as well. maybe go back 5 years and longer, if a guiuld is current and at least that old, and that guild (the gm) can get a guildstone to place at the guild Headquarters. in all honesty, the day they took away guildstones really hurt me. Those were the coolest things. if we can't use an interactive one, then maybe at least let us be able to craft one and label it with the guild name. just a thought.

Now that is a really good idea. I understand why its easier without the stone but man were those stones great it also made you feel like you were part of something when they told you to click the stone to join.

date wise, i think these are a couple of the important dates from the past in regards to housing.

if im not mistaken, tram opened with house placement starting June 23, 2000 at 22:00.
i say this because there are 8 house i know of on sonoma with this exact place time and date.

and again if im not mistaken, then end of being able to place a house per character on one account, and when houses entered the grandfathered state due to that was August 2001.

my guess at the 2nd one there is due to the fact that a guild mate has a bunch of grandfathered houses all on the same account and he stated they where all placed the week they said that they where stopping that.
and i just went and checked the dates on his houses and they are Aug 13-25 2001.

I have 25 Fel houses on Sonoma all built in '97 or early '98.
Then an additional 20+ something on Lake Superior, 23 on Pacific and 15 on Yamato. . . .all built in '97 and early '98.

We have two houses like that. They were the first buildings we placed in the Kingdom of Dawn. Based on information I have, they had to have been placed before 2/15/1998 as that is the first dated house we have in Dawn.

Yay We have one! *smiles* This is the old run down guild tower for Ordo Sylvanus. It has been there since September 9, 2000. There were times in the past, that the roof was filled with friends and guild mates before a hunt. *sighs* It belongs to Lothar of Paladine (aka Hecubus).

Back before they put all accounts on the 1 house per rule I gave all of my houses to a friends account, so I could keep my siege house, so all my old houses are 10+ years old, but not on an account I own, or a shard I play.

Someone posted one of them in a thread about old houses before the collapse. Called "Herman's Hole".

I am sorry but I rather keep my old houses\accounts safe than risk losing them (Still holds the oldest house on Cats title from last shard forum thread and not gona lose it). All the reassurances of protection of information does not matter. All it takes is one slip up and I rather be safe than come crying on the forums later.

Email * any email will do, we're not asking for the one on your UO account, in fact I very much advise against that. How about using the one you registered here with?
Shard * Not a secret?
Facet * Not a secret?
Co ordinates * Can be withheld from the public page but Mesanna will need them.
House Name * not a secret?
Build Date * not a secret?
House Owner (the character name that is on the house sign) * not a secret?
Screen Print URL (if any) Use this line to tell me 'withhold coords' Others have already done that.

Who's reading the emails generated by this form? I am, then I'm forwarding them to Mesanna. That's it.

What I do not get is why we have to do all the leg work and provide our own information and risk exposing ourselves (be it a very minor risk).

I have paid for this game for over 14 years and done alot of crap for the game Could you Devs for once learn to write a proper query instead of asking players to do all the leg work as usual?
