You sure that's the one you turned in tho? Not doubting you, I just know how crosseyed I got when I was doing alot of BOD's. Just makin' sure, cause if so, that's something they need to address imo.

I am 100% positive. I went and did a 20 exc val chainmail LBOD to get an ash to do the plate deed.

That makes the most expensive +30 ASH in history...

That is the reward for a Normal one, hope you didn't not upgrade your large bod because it will take the small exc ones. But I have seen bods do weirder things, the chart at TOR is not completely right now. They made a change a while back with bods. You would think though that the top bod would always get the top reward.

Honestly it sounds like you didn't upgrade the Lg BOD to exceptional.

In eight years of turning in BODs I have never been given the wrong reward.

in a few weeks val runics will be going for 2-3mil because they are now too easy to obtain. Soo.... i feel bad for ya but at the same time.. it'd be nice if there was a chance you got a junk reward.

I know there were not a lot of players who used to fill large bods but that bug has been around for a LONG time it just doesn't happen very often. The last time it happened to me I filled a Lbod 20 exceptional aggy plate and got a bronze hammer as a reward. The time before that was a Lbod 20 exceptional gold chainmail and I got an ash 10 instead of a gold hammer.

This one makes sense as +10 ASH is the reward for the normal 20 Gold chaimmail LBOD.

The last time it happened to me I filled a Lbod 20 exceptional aggy plate and got a bronze hammer as a reward.

This makes no sense at all. The only aggy LBOD that gives a bronze hammer is normal ringmail 20.

Like I said I've turned in 1000s of LBOD over eight years. I've never been given the wrong reward. I've also never heard of this bug in all my years filling BODs and reading these forums. Just sayin.

Well, I am not making it up. It happened just like I said it did. I am 100% sure that the LBOD was exc. I max my bods out and check one last time to make sure I get the "You can't get any better than this" message.

This is the first time it has ever happened to me too and I have been playing since 97 so I was there when bods were introduced. This does not bug me as much as the fact that Atlantic crashes every couple of hours. Why couldn't it have crashed and reverted until BEFORE I turned in that bod?

There's an ancient bug (at least as old as AoS, maybe as old as BODs), where on rare occasions an EX large will give a Normal large's reward.

Past dev teams tried to look into it, but the bug couldn't be reproduced - it just happened so rarely that typically it only affected 1 BOD for 1 person at a time, and sometimes weeks or months passed between people reporting one on the forums. And, since the BOD disappears when turned in, there's nothing to examine for a post-mortem.

Making matters difficult is no one knows what triggers the bug, so if its something internal clock related, any attempts to replicate the bug might never occur in the split second every few days/weeks/months it might occur.

Welcome to the elite group of people that got hit by a 1 in a million bug in UO along with the others with the same BOD issue (mine happened about 2004-5, with a gold hammer LBOD) and thpse hit by a non-PvP (therefore non-exploit) insured/blessed item bug.

You can't upgrade the TYPE.. Chain stays chain.

You upgrade the type of ore, normal 2 exceptional, and the quantity.

I believe, though the response that followed yours has confused me a little, though I think it's sort of confusion in response to your reply in the first place...

But I believe what she indicated she did was that she got the chainmail deed so that she would have an ASH in order to lessen her failures as she did the platemail deed. She didn't say she converted it, but used it to get a hammer, which makes sense because the ASH would save on fails on the valorite (which regardless of how much strip mining you do is still rare, and rarer now that it vanishes on a whim).

Once she had the ASH from the chain deed, she used it to complete the exc. plate deed she talks about originally.
