[UO Herald] Delay in the House Placement Tool

I find it ironic that this post is right next to one where folks, justly, complain about the lack of communication regarding patches.

Does that mean I think that the team was like "wow they slammed us when we posted that we knew about the placement tool, we better not post patch notes?"

No.

It just means that I find the juxtaposition ironic.

I was one who did manage to place. My IDOCr's tool worked from the first instance until I clicked too many times and got locked out. I tried my other characters and one of their tools worked but again I clicked too many times (no placing due to idoc timer). I re logged with my IDOCr and the tool started working 30 mins later. (a long frustrating wait). I could then place, but the house would disappear after 10 seconds or so and I would get the test gump after another 30 seconds or so. Tried this another 4 or 5 times, waiting for the test gump to appear. On the 6th attempt or so, it stuck.

BTW Storm, I have an empty tower if you need it.

My tool works now (finally) but now the house is way off on the right side of the screen instead of a couple tiles in front of the targeting cursor.

Is it just me?

If you're in the Classic Client, make sure you have your playfield in the upper left-hand corner of the screen (just click the gold border and drag it there... you can move it back afterward). For some reason, moving the playfield window screws up housing placement.

Errrrrrr there is a free 14 day come back to brit promo for any old accounts u have.....Read no pay....free 14 days....more than enough to place house and save stuff etc etc...or trade decaying house to another old account then back again!!!!

I think you are confusing the 14 day trials for NEW accounts with the Return to Britannia events that EA/Mythic bring up every so often. Old/existing accounts cannot use the 14 day trials as they only apply to new accounts. Also the trial accounts cannot place houses.
