[UO Herald] Update on Housing Decay

So what exactly is your question? House decay is on a timer but it's not an exact timer.

It takes minimum 5 days to around a maximum of 7 days for a house to fall.
No question. Just a bit confused I guess as to why they put out the wrong info. Should not be shocked or confused now that I am thinking about it. Not really the first time they put out the wrong info.

Apart from a glitch(which happens alot and need to be taken into acct when timing), guessing due to origin revert all is going as it should good to see all the idoc "experts" getting it so wrong

so to all that say idocs is just about camping free loot and no work, please learn from this

those who know, KNOW, because idocs are thier thing and thats what they do, its a profession that takes alot of time to learn and get right, the looting is just the end result, oh like a good peerless

What wrong info? The timers for house decay have never been exact.

Two days to save your house is based on the minimum time for house decay.

Can u imagine how many ''part time idocers'' have taken the day off for the pot of gold...and still wait - staring at the house sign for 12 hours or more....lordy....lol....Like Jack said....Real Idocing is a profession in itself!!

i can remember many a happy idoc were we would actually TURN UP WITH 5 MIUTES TO GO and count the fall down time ...10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1...fallllllllllllllllllllll!!!!.....LOL.....and some bemused folk had been camped there 4-5 hours or more...LOL

Some of that probably had some to do with the fact that the RNG was broken for years.

They tweaked it a few years ago but it's still streaky.

There are those of us who have come out of IDOC "retirement" just for this too tho. So far I am not a fan of the new rules. I liked the old ones better, maybe because I knew them as well as the second paragraph indicates.

Some folks never could figure out how when I hit my macro *begins hitting foundation with a pickaxe* the house would usually fall within 10 minutes. :D

I know alot about Idocs been doing them for some time now. It is very strange for so many idocs to be in sync with each other. And yes idocs can stay in 1 stage for maybe 2 days but that does not happen often. And I have never saw every stage go 48 hours to change like these have. But once it goes IDOC I have saw them take anywhere from 7 - 12 hours to fall but the normal is about 7 hours after it goes IDOC. That being said before they stopped the idocs they would take 5 days on the norm to fall 24 hours in each stage up to Idoc stage. Slightly-24 hrs ,somewhat-24 hrs,fairly-24 hrs, greatly-24 hrs....then Idoc. Now if was different in years past I have no clue. But I do think things are a bit messed up now.
