Stop promoter from spamming!

I ignore this guy every half an hour and it still spams. Not only does he spam in caps but the site he is spamming doesn't work and half the words he is spamming are spelled wrong. It is even more annoying then the town criers. When I am on and off reading journal and it's flooded with promoter text.

Whats the big deal here?

Sure, its mildly annoying but it is only for a matter of seconds and does not impede gameplay one bit. I would hope that anyone spamming ingame gets a ban but is it really the gigantic issue people here are making it out to be?
From what I have read in this thread nobody has actually gotten any kind of virus or been scammed in any way.
Is your life that banal that you feel the need to freak over crap like this?

IMO any generic thief at Yew gate is twice as annoying and a much worse griefer than a website spammer. Neither is consensual but at least the spammer is not impeding my gameplay. Hell, the spammer may have something I want on his site. The thief is only gonna try to take things from me and bother me because that is the mentality of the type of player that plays a longtime thief.

People have been banned for far far less. Not to mention with the rash of hacked accounts lately then this guy comes out with a name just like one of the other spammers but is spamming www.*****.NET and not www.****.COM
The .COM site is the search site, the site that sells gold. The .NET site flags virus protection...
Also its annoying seeing all those CAPS in gen chat, I keep ignoring him but he keeps coming back.

People probably have been banned for less. But Im sure whatever they were banned for, no matter how much less of an offense, was bannable so it was still deserved.

IMO too many former hall monitors have nothing better to do then rant about bs on these boards. Like the good samaritan currently posting that he is upset because EA will not drop idocs to fit his schedule lol.

I say keep paging, paging, paging and paiging again until you run across a GM that 1- Knows the rules and 2- Follows them. If that ain't for you ignore him, I ignored him twice was all and have had peace and calm since.

There is probably a good bit of truth to that statement. However, I shudder to think how bad off it would be in game without those same hall monitors actively reporting illegal activites when they run across them.

I paged him 2 times, then i choose the ignore way. Im usually ignoring him every 4-7 days. It works for me, but i know some people try the site just to see what's he is really offering.

Anyway, the guy spam and logoff (at heaven inn, most of the time) so when a GM checks the page, the guy is gone. He is on another shard spamming again.

From my understanding of how it works {and I could be 100% wrong} whomever you page on does not necessiarly have to be online for a GM to act. They can pull the log, look at the illegal spam {or harassment if that's what is being alleged} and still take action on that account even if they are logged out.

If that's the .net one, I went all over the site (looking for any possibility of RMT). no problem since - I also went with JavaScript/java enabled and I have neither firewall nor active virus scanner. Scanned since then, clean. I think it's only in violation is if he uploads a baddie to an EA run site. My 'main' complaint is that the coverage area isn't as large (inside Luna only). I think other than ignore, y'all are SOL.

It actually is against ToS. That site is a Russian website ran by the old seller who used to sell the stolen credit card 90 day game time. His primary site wasn't getting traffic, so he opened up this to attempt to skirt the RMT rules. It is/was infected with a malicious script primarily installed via an exploit in his OTC software.

He's a credit card fraudster from Russia, and apples to apples his search has 1/3rd the items of S*****U*.com which is the US-based search.
And of those one third of items 40% are busted listings lol. In Russia vendor search you!

Page -> Verb Harras -> soliciting websites on ea servers is against ToS -> enter his chat id.


He has unlimited CCs so making 30. Day old accounts isn't a issue for him. IP banning, and maybe getting higher authorities involved could remove this burden.
