So here I am enrolling in college online (lots better than 15 years ago when I had to do it the old fashioned way) and getting frustrated with all the weirdo stuff they want. I mean, I want to take college algebra to help me with the GRE, I took college algebra in 1997, but they aren't convinced that I have enough math for the course. What????

Anyways, so I got to thinking... do we have a university in UO? I know there are mage study places and all that stuff, but it seems to be rather lacking in schools and centers of learning that are NOT involved with magic. I mean, no wonder we don't have cars yet in UO, no one is learning how to do anything! I am suprised at the current literacy rate. Where does everyone learn to read? I mean, there is a swordmaster on every corner, most towns have Elite Mage training, raise the dead, summon daemons, etc. But no earthly studies. Weird right?

That is all! :scholar:

There's the Lyceum in Moonglow which is a place for scholarly study, it's not magic-only focused. There are various libraries scattered throughout the towns and cities. There don't appear to be any real formal schools though so I guess it's the domain of the elite or everyone is home-schooled. Maybe a mix of both.

They do have some serious astrology at the Lyceum don't they... But still, don't have a combustion engine, yet worried about getting to the moons. Wacky!

Well UO is slowly following the development time line of the Ultima series so it should get a small bit more industrialized and less magical sorta. Assuming that it stays on the game path. Of course that being said if we could magically teleport we probably wouldn't have the internal combustion engine either.

If its not there then build it :)

I would love to see a University or something where I could earn a degree in Interior Decorating and would it be possible to test out of English? I flinked it three times and math four times. :scholar:
