I know they said there were suppose to be several announcements but they also said by the beginning of this year. I also know they are bad with communication.

Are IDOCs back up?

So do you think everything has been reset so its going to be 90 days before we see anything fall, or BAAM, down come the walls?

What I think will happen is as soon as they get it straightened out, who knows maybe tomorrow...They will turn it on the decay process starts *like new* Somewhat...etc etc...No 90 days... You already had your 90 days thats what the warning is for....

I'm assuming that we'll start seeing IDOC's about 90 days after they turn it on.

But I too wish they would clear this up so we don't have to speculate.

i read it as 5 days from when they turn on.. not 90

"IDOC" stands for "In Danger of Collapse" and occurs when someone closes their account for more than 90 days. After the 90 day period, their house enters a 5 day decay cycle and then collapses leaving their possessions scattered on the ground for the vultures to pick over. You can often get some great stuff at a house-fall. IDOC is the last stage of decay before the house falls.

Thanks for the response but how do u find out about these Idoc's ie which houses are getting ready to fall?

You basically wander the world looking at house signs. If it has started the 5 day cycle - there will be a message like: "Somewhat Worn", "Fairly Worn", "Greatly Worn", and "In Danger of Collapse".

Be careful though - some houses are named "In Danger of Collapse" by the owner and are not really in the IDOC stages so if you misread, you can wait for a house that will never fall.

If house decay was "off" when you quit paying your account, for whatever reason.. Then when they turn decay back on your house will show as "not paid" immediately and start the 90 day countdown on that day...

I really doubt they'll try to go back and figure when each and every account stopped paying.

I just paid a month on all my semi-inactive house holding accounts just to be safe.. I suggest you all do the same.

I actually believe this to be incorrect. If your account has not been paid and you are after the 90 day your house will begin the decay cycle. If you want to protect your house now is the time to reactivate your account.

Ya Know, back in the day it wasn't just having an account that was current, the house also had to be refreshed, someone had to open up the front door. So even if your acct is paid, you may want to go by any houses you have to refresh them.

*at least thats how I remember it, correct me if I'm wrong*

That was how it was but that is not what is going to be happening that idea was discontinued and will not be restarting.

This would seem (to me) to only apply if your house was already past the 90 countdown when house decay was frozen... maybe they will go back and figure it all out.. like if you were ten days from your ninety, you'd have ten days left when they turn it back on. Or if you were only a month down, you'd have 60 days left.. Seems problematic that way though..

Nevertheless I could be wrong and thats why I caught all the accounts up today.

They already know this actually. They are not talking about linking the account systems but removing a bug in the housing code and then allowing the non bugged houses to go into decay. If your 90's is already up your house will begin to decay. At least that is their expressed plan. As this is UO if your account isn't on now and you want to make sure your house does not go into decay then I would reactivate the account right now. I mean like as your reading this right now. Yes you might reactivate it before its truly critically necessary but think about it if your playing chicken with a train and suddenly any little thing goes wrong your in deep deep trouble. So I would do it now because if your account has been inactive over 90 days at this point this code will not suddenly give you 90 days it will put your house into decay.

Unless the 'housing system' is totally inept, it's just simple math. The date they reactivate 'house decay' minus the date the account was last active.

If it's more than 90 days the house should begin the decay cycle.

This of course excludes the "bugged" houses from Welcome back and Return to Brit.

this is how I understand it will work:

I think if your account is already past 90 days, the 5 day timer will start

if your account went inactive during, let's say early December, you'd still get your remaining 60ish days before the 5 day timer starts.

make sense?

also, remember there is a 14-day Re-Enlistment bonus, so people who are paying attention will be able to save their houses for free

if you are in 5-day decay and you re-activate your account it will go into automatic refresh. I certainly wouldn't wait until the 4th day though obviously.

Yeah, unless they intentionally block it this time, your house will return to auto-refresh when you activate the account.

Do not wait until the house is already "In Danger of Collapse" as it sometimes takes 24 hours or a server maintenance before it refreshes.

Yes that is correct. That being said people should note all the trouble folks have been having and plan for it. It might not happen I for one have never had any trouble with it. That being said its better to do it ahead of time then to not be able to do it in time.

Here are my thoughts! (I try to refrain from doing this to often)
Everyone has had plenty of time to pay there account! if you have not go do it right now!
Idocs should begin collapsing the minute they turn it on! We have had more than enough of a wait!

A few years back I lost my grandfathered houses because of this and I was mad about it but in the end it was my own fault and I was grown up enough to say my bad and move on!

So long story short If you are concerned about it you should be on the phone with ea fixing whatever is wrong or paying your bill!

I believe a GM will help you in that case, but again do you really want to risk it? GM might not show up in time.
