Coal fired dragon & normal paper dragon were given out by EMs on all shards, 2m seems ok I guess, but they were quite common.

I haven't seen a reindeer mask or fairy stat .

Must have been a shard specific thing?

I know the peach fairy and the reigndeer mask came from Izumo and I got them yesterday from a gift box inside the holiday house. There is a gate to it in haven.

As far as I know - Asuka, Hokuto, Izumo, Mizuho, and Wakoku had various items. If they are still active, look for a gate in Haven and/or Brit Bank.

Why do I always get the feeling the true body of UO’s players are betrayed once more buy giving the few the coolest treats? When was the last time we got treats and the Asian shards didn’t? Talking for all... not just the few.

"True body"?
Every one of those shards I logged on to looked vibrant and bustling compared to a five shard sampling of North American shards.

Prices on search engines consistently show far lower prices on Asian shards as well. Could this be due to players taking it upon themselves to keep their respective economies from getting out of control?

American shards, even some of the least populated ones, appear to have done the opposite.

Japanese shards have volunteers, American volunteers tried to sue the game they "loved"

American players are far from being the "true body" of UO, maybe an arm or a hand (a grabbing hand),

In my opinion, American players could learn a thing or two about the power of community from those players in Japan -the "true body" that is UO

People could learn a lot from reading the Bible...

Reading Ms Manners.

And watching Star Trek.

But that's my opinion.

How about Mr Rogers?

And sadly even if they have read or watched much of that seems to me most of the lessons have been forgotten or totally ignored...

"whatever"
One of my best new game friends lives on one of those Asian shards... one of the ones not on the extra treats list. One that's not flooded with anything that you may have witnessed after drinking whatever... or smoking whatever. It is also not our, the player's, doing that they hire EMs based on their PK experiences and not so much on creativity. I have seen far worse on Atlantic, before our current EM... but at least he tries... and just in what little I know, his hands are tied back more then they should be. That's not even talking about events and rares tied to a part of the world most don’t even celebrate the season. When was the last time you ever herd of a special treat, yearly event, that was going on in the North American shards WITH TREATS that everyone else was cut out of? My point was we should all be treated a little more equally and not always the few Asian shards that always get extra. Every year, we see stuff imported to Atlantic... on the same vendors. Wooden cows, soybeans... whatever. Stuff every single newbie on those shards can get, yet we are cut out 100%.

Before spouting off on tirades... try looking at a debate from the other side.

And for the record... the most action I ever see on Izumo is when these are going on. 10-30 people (at a time) on at 1 time, just to collect “vender machine” items. Try checking out a real shard where 10-30 people just sit around the bank and do nothing. lol. Forget those of us who actually make the community better for everyone.

Cause... It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood... a beautiful day for a neighbor. Wont you be mine? :mf_prop:

Why did you quote me as saying "whatever"?

That word does not appear in either of my posts.

Your need to manufacture my comments to propagate your fiction that you and yours are the "true body" of UO only serves my point.

You are so blinded by your own self-appointed superiority that it doesn't dawn on you how ridiculous you sound.

Your response makes my point
No, my response makes my point that in my opinion you are wrong. The level of "community" has absolutely no bearing on what prices are on any shard. American shards need to learn something from the Asian shards when it comes to community by keeping prices lower? Nah, it's a free market at work. Law of supply and demand. Take your pick. To try and illustrate a lack of community on a shard like Atlantic due to substantially higher prices is laughable imho. But as I said, we are all entitled to our opinons.

Cool. I like this opinion:-

"No matter how big a nation is, it is no stronger that its weakest people, and as long as you keep a person down, some part of you has to be down there to hold him down, so it means you cannot soar as you might otherwise." ~Marian Anderson 1897-1993

Hmm... and for all these years I was under the impression that all the players, who hail from many different countries, constitute the "true body" of UO.

Cool. I like this opinion:-
I understand that opinion and line of thinking. To me it's what drives the things such as the Occupy movement, Socialism et al. While it sounds great on paper and in theory, however it fails when put into implemantation. I know my opinion is not the popular one these days, but sorry, when it comes to income and prestige not everyone is equal nor should they be. Someone who quits high school and chooses never to better themselves should never be considered on the same level as someone who goes to college and gets a doctorate. Nor should they be considered on the level of someone who busts their butt, opens a business and struggles to keep it in the black during tough economic times as well as reap the harvest when times are great. This is not due to them being less of a person, as they deserve the same basic rights we all enjoy as human beings, but they should not be entitled to nor receive the benefits of someone who lives a lifetime filled with drive, ambition and hard work.

I knew nothing of Marian Anderson prior to your post, but when looking into her she seems to be one who leaned toward the "victim" type mindset. - The reason some people can not succeed is because there are those keeping them down. More often than not, it's not someone else "keeping them down", it's their poor decision making ability and lack of drive that keeps them in the gutter. If anything, it's that type mindset and the spreading of the propaganda that keeps some people down. Because they start to actually believe the lies and then don't even bother trying. They start to believe the hype, change their outlook and began to think... Why even try? Someone will just keep me from attaining it. Once that happens it leads to thousands of folks camping in parks for weeks/months on end.

Could be wrong, but that's how I see it *shrugs*

Kylie, I have no opinion at all as to how this relates to UO. I have played for 14 years, and through the luck of placing an original house within Luna, I have the money I need to play. I don't hoard cash, and while i do hoard stuff, I also give it away freely. You, however, have posted a screed that takes this concept into the real world, and with huge flaws, both in the analogy and in your reasoning. In the game, if I work and make gold, it is great, but it is not essential. I can sit in the garden of my house, which costs me nothing past the initial outlay, which is governed not by the local economy, but by the government of the game. True, that if I want things, I can bust my butt or set up a house of vendors, or spend hours scanning the forums to find out where the lastest give-aways and events are, but what i end up with is what my grandmother used to call "the icing". Not even the cake... the icing. But that is all it is... icing. I don't need to eat, and if I want to eat, there is food readily available for the picking. I don't pay rent or mortgage or taxes. My house needs no upkeep. I can have basic clothes for nothing, and I can find decent cast-off armor all over, because even the richest folks don't worry that if they toss a sword they don't need on the ground some lazy, free-loading welfare queen might pick it up.

In the real world, it is different. I am the 99%. I have not camped out in a park a single night, but I respect the people who have. I respect them for doing what I don't have the freedom or the courage to do, and I respect them for reaching a point where they have to do something, then following through with actions. I also respect them for not disavowing the poor, the homeless, the broken and the outcast who have joined them in these public spaces, not because they believed in the message, but because they sought some relief from people who would not deny it.

I hav e more education than my father. I work longer hours at a better job with less benefits, and in the end, I do not do as well as he did. This is not because I am careless or lazy or stupid. It is because in the last 40 years things have changed. The 1% are far wealthier and further removed from me than they were from my father. They have learned better what the robber barons of the late 19th century knew well... do whatever you must to wrest wealth from whoever you can wrest it from, and to keep it no matter what. If it is illegal, buy a judge or a jury or a prosecutor or an inspector. Then buy a politician and change things so it is no longer illegal. And make sure that that money stays in your social group, regardless of whether those people, like your children, ever worked for it.

No offense intended toward anyone, but I truly wish that real world politics could be left in the real world when we come together to talk about UO.

Peace... (from a RL conservative). :eyes:

And I don't intend offense either, old gypsy (ok... that sentence just doesn't work well). I have, however, gotten fed up to my gills with people tossing nastiness and judgment and hate around about liberals and the 99% and progressive issues, then expecting no one to respond (and when they do, shouting "Let's just leave politics out of this!"). Your request to leave politics at the Britannia door would have been more believable had you not felt the need to state your side of the argument with your sign-off.

I rarely, in venues like this, spout my "socialist, commie claptrap", but I will take up the shield in it's defense and correct some grossly incorrect statements that are getting parroted by people who think they are conservative, and are really just dispeptic.

Well, DirectorDoug, I'm sorry if you feel offended by my sign-off, which didn't describe any personal stand I may have on any real world issue... it simply reflected the fact that I am a generally conservative person. I did not apply any rude labels to you or Kylie. The only thing I might say at this juncture is that I think you seem angry and over-reactive.

I'm going to play a little UO. Have a happy new year.
