Ok Lets see here, where to start.
Let me make this very clear, I am NOT upset that I didn't get a reward.
I am NOT upset that I died a lot (It was an event, it's to be expected).
What I am upset about however is that all the facts weren't made clear from the very beginning of the event. I'm upset that I didn't get an equal chance at the reward that some of the others had. If Miko would have made clear that you needed an item from a previous event that was ran and if you weren't at said event or didn't get said item from that event you need not waste your time coming to the current event unless you just feel like helping.
I went to the event with the knowledge that you needed a scale and an oil to "Make something powerful" aka the no playable value reward item with a special name/hue/etc...I thought that both items were falling off the monsters that were 1 hitting us all night, just to find out later that the scale was something that only 10 (5 of each name) from what I hear dropped and it was dropped at an event that I wasn't able to attend. This information wasn't made clear to me until 3-4 hours into it and 100's of death's later. Now I'll go to an event even if I know there's only a 1% chance of me getting a reward from it. But the fact of the matter is, this was one of those event's that only rewarded those lucky enough to claim a reward at a previous event.
Had this information been made clear from the get go I would have probably better spent my time continuing to work skills or something else, Hell even with the knowledge of no reward at all if asked by someone with an actual chance at the reward I would have came to help (As useless as it would have been against those things, couldn't stay alive long enough to do anything worth while between the 1 hit KO attack and the summoning me and snacking on me as soon as I was rezzed).
So don't take this as a I'm crying cause I didn't get a reward, that's not it at all, had I got a reward it would have just been displayed in the T*T museum like everything else I get...I don't go to these events for profit like some. What this post is about is the lack of organization and information that was provided to the players about the event at hand...of my many years running player ran events in game I can honestly say that i think I could have done something that would have been more enjoyable to the players then this even, but still kept it RP and not a complete gold sink then these events.
So my suggestion to the EM's is this, and this goes to any EM reading not just the ones on Legends...Being players yourselves keep some things in mind.
1. Present all the facts before the event starts, hell if you want to make it RP it's not that hard, last time I checked you had to present a sample of your creativity and writing ability just to get the job. If items from previous events are needed make that clear so that way they are not completely pissed and feel their time was wasted after X number of hours dieing or whatever.
2. Know you're player base, create events you know the shard would enjoy and would promote shard togetherness, not just blood baths with loosely created story lines. Also make sure their is a healer or an ability to res without the assistance of other players (I know team work is key but if we're all dead we can't very well rez each other can we?)
3. Don't play head games with your players, if they ask you a valid question that isn't altering to the event at hand, answer them clearly not in riddles.
Anyway I think that's it for this rant, I hope future events are better planned and exicuted.
