Is LMC applied before or after mana cost reduction through 300 points?

Hard for me to try out cause I have no build and no items.

armore ignore:

30 mana cost
-40% LMC
-10 points

cost of 8 mana per

or is it:

30 mana cost
-10 points
-40 LMC

cost of 12 mana per

And while we are at it: any idea how values are rounded if they don´t give even numbers? (if you have something like 28 LMC for example)

Thx a lot again :)

The cost reduction for 200 or 300 skill points is applied before the LMC reduction. For Armour Ignore, base cost is 30, reduced by 10 to 20 for skills and the by a further 40% for LMC for a final cost of 12. If any special is used within the next 3 seconds, the cost of that special is doubled - in AI's case to 24 mana. You can therefore understand why spamming AI or any similar cost special really requires a dedicated build. Note, however, that Lightning Strike is not a special move.

As far as I know, LMC is applied in blocks of 10. 28 LMC will equate to only 20 effective LMC.

First of all, thanks Skelf (this is Heph btw, in case you are Skelf/Uberon from Europa).

Are you sure about what I quoted?
Cause If I take out a calculator 28 LMC would have a cost of 14,4 mana (would be rounded to 14 I guess?)

30 LMC gives 14 straight. So 28 and 30 would be the same.
22 LMC is 15, 6 (rounded up to 16?)
20 LMC is 16 straight - so again, 20 and 22 would be the same.

But something like 25 - should give a mana cost of 15.

Can anyone else confirm that LMC works in increments of 10 only?

Thanks.

Hi Heph...;p It is the Skelf you know..

I recall this question being raised 18 months or more ago and the word from the resident gurus was that LMC was applied in blocks. I don't usually make a habit of accepting stuff without numbers and shouldn't have done so in this case. I went and tested this tonight. Here are my numbers:

Posit: If LMC is applied in blocks of 10, 10n LMC should give the same mana reduction as 10n+9 LMC. Ideally I would test this with 0 and 9 LMC but since I couldn't easily wear either 9 or 10 LMC, I chose to test 20 LMC against 29 LMC using AI against Ogre Lords (to get more that a couple of test shots in..;p)

Currently, my build has 240 relevant skill points giving a reduction of 5 so AI should cost 25 points. Tested this and it does.

With a base cost of 25,
20 LMC should cost 25*0.8 or 20 points
29 LMC should cost 25*0.8 or 20 points if LMC is applied in blocks of 10
29 LMC should cost 25*0.71 or 17.75 points (rounded to 18 points) if the hypothesis is false and the 9 extra LMC makes a difference.

Result:
AI with 29 LMC costs 18 points every time.

Conclusion: 29 LMC is applied as a real 29% reduction and it is not applied in larger blocks. I am convinced - my apologies for misleading you
