I really dont know what you lot are complaining about. It sounds like another load of winging for the sake of winging. Origin is a step forward at lest. We can now use discount codes (And I'm in the UK and they DO work) and also we get to buy items at sale prices. I had a look this morning and bought a ton of codes for the 7th chara slots, bank increase, tokens etc becuase they are now alot cheaper then when they were on UOGamecodes.
This is a good thing and with any upgrades it takes time to iron out the mistakes (Ok EA's track record isnt great but they seem to be working on getting origin spot on) but hell I'm alot happier now that we have a wider payment options as compared to the old site.
Seriously just stop shouting from the rooftops and give it a chance for once. Athough it would be nice if the Origin staff were familaur with the products that they sell. But yeah thats EA for you really.

Only two problems:
1. Some items not available worldwide.
2. Some payment options not available worldwide.
honestly i think they did the right thing i hated the old store.... never gotten any discounts during any holiday or anything so far i have known about the new store for a few weeks now and it seems like they will lower prices once in awhile and maybe during holidays....

I can't read the language that thing comes up in and can't change it. It second guesses my language abilities by noting my IP address. And it guesses very wrong.
the real kicker is that the site's probably offering what I want to buy and letting me use paypal to pay for it. But I can't navigate the site or anything.
But it's missing stuff. Try finding the Gothic Theme Pack, for example. And, of course, there's no announcement that this site was changing and that it might take a short while for them to get all the stuff added. (At least, that is my hope - that they just hadn't added everything yet.)
This, and it's even worse as the subscription page in the account management won't accept my payment (returns Unknown Error) when my country is something else than whatever its IP recognition tool thinks it is.

I think it is more of a security measure for stolen CC cards,
and i do recall a few years back reading another thread about that issue.
While I can't say for certainty, it appears as if the plan was to make the announcement Tuesday after Origin was updated with the uogamecodes items. It would make sense to start importing them over the night before. However, as with all things on the internets anymore, stealthing does not exist
For years many have complained that UO's community of players were on the outskirts of the fold without appreciation for keeping this world going for 14 yrs. Think about it, 14yrs of players sticking with it because the virtual world of friends and family with homes and towns has become meaningful. It goes past game mechanics and enhanced clients and skill templates. I think that is finally becoming recognized.

So like foster kids returning home there is some transition, maybe some distrust and hiccups but the overall goal is to be treated like the older kids who've stuck it out. Not to say EA has been abusive parents (blushes) but umm just to say this is another step towards good things....I hope

I don't care if they move it to Origin, heck, if I can buy stuff there without having to download their spyware client, I'm all for it.
The thing that really gets me though, is the fact that they plan to announce it AFTER they went through with it. What's up with that?! Did they think no one would notice?
If they put up a Warning yesterday "We are moving the store to Origin. This may lead to a short time where not everything can be bought." then they only would have the gamestore vs origin argument. But without announcement all the promises from Mr. Skalski to improve communication with the player base start to sound hollow.

I guess if we have to buy it on Origin, you should later be able to access your "order history," which may be helpful for some people.
Kinda have a concern though about how things are going to work out if you have multiple EA accounts for your multiple UO accounts and all are using the same credit card and then you happen to try to place an order for codes through Origin on a different EA account than you used previously. I think there's a box that is checked by default that keeps you logged into one account for the Origin. com site that many may overlook.
If you happen to forget you placed an order under a different EA account the last time and then use a different EA account for your next order, I wonder if the store site will think there's credit card fraud going on, ban your IP, etc. The account management site still seems at least slightly separate from the Origin.com site, so using the same credit card for your subscriptions under multiple EA accounts for now seems to work okay. I would be reluctant to assume, however, that things work the same under the Origin store site.
The stuff you order on Origin isnt account based (Its all codes) so it dosnt really matter what EA account you sign in with. Although I have several EA accounts, only one is used for purchases for the other 4.
I just purchased the Rustic Theme Pack from the Origin Site and when I entered the code to update my account I got a message that the coode was not valid??? I called customer support and they could not get it to work either. At least they refunded my money.
Could this possibly be a good time to add true crimson dyes to the Haochi's pigment collection? Please!
I should not be distressed, this migration really really needed to happen. Once again, the devil is in the details.
When Origin hosted their High Seas sale a few weeks ago I was able to purchase it without incident.
Right now however, I'd suggest error on the side of caution and hold off ordering until the Herald post update Jeff referred to. In the long run this really should be better than a separate site hosting items for sale.

Just wanted to note that as of this moment I am redirected to Origin on firefox and there are some items, lots of items in the list actually, that were on Tina's list of "Sir not appearing in this film."

Only ever had issues with UOGC when an expansion had just released, But it is good to see progress. My only concern is the lack of product range on Origin vs UOGC, But I can see it increasing slowly so I look forward to being finished!

No you should not have to download anything off of that site at all, all you do is pay for what you want and the codes get sent to your email that you logged in whit.
The only downloading anyone needs for UO is the game its self and you do that off of uoherald.

Your welcome and i can see that most people are concerned about that, and they should not be due to anything you buy you get codes sent to your email to enter in your account management and/or in game promotion
For ultima online anyways not sure about the other stuff on the site lol

Well, i guess this is then the last days i play UO. I bought every month a 30 Days Gametime Code per Paysave Card. This option is now gone, there is not even a 30 Day Gametime Code for sale on Origin. And there is no point for me, to pay 90 Days Gametime Codes, when i am not even sure if i can play in those 90 Days.
I hear you Viquire. Once we work out the remaining kinks with the new store and get the remaining items up I'm planning to get some new things posted. Well there is still no 30 Days Gametime Codes and still no Paysave Card ect. Only 30 Days Gametime Codes for North America & Sweden. ...
I guess the old Players from other countries are not so important anymore. So why should we just take care of them? Now i am really angry, that you treat your last Players like crap. Not only that this old game costs the same like World of Warcraft ... which has by the way a few times per year updates, changes ect. and 11 Million Players, not like UO only 1000 -1500 Players. But hey if you don't want us ... we will find another game and after all this crap, with Account Migration and removing the old UO Game Code Store, you can be sure, we won't come back to UO again.

Applying GTC purchased in German Origin store not works, if invoking the Reactivate account button for my main account, only via Activate key.
So where is the benefit for foreign customers, exactly?
