Bug fixes

The last patch was good as it was just bug fixes.

However, I think some bug fixes should be prioritised over others.

I think pvp bugs should be high priorty. I still know some players with 70 all resists when naked. And people are still throwing 4 conflag consecutively before the timer kicks in.

Ok people speedhack and script in pvp etc and that can't be fixed, but bugs can be fixed and so should be.

^^ has to do with the delay before the cooldown kicks in.
I agree with this pvp bugs should be a high priority, After the ones that are considered Game-breakers of course.

I for one would like to see client crashes in pvp get a fix (It seems to happen to EVERYONE on the same screen, when a Tamed/Bonded Pet dies.) it's not everytime but it happens often enough to get annoyed with it.

so basicly since Everyone crashes, whoever logs back on fastest, can pick and choose who dies first.

client crashes of all types should be first no matter what the reason then it should be whatever effects the most players first

Of course everyone thinks bug fixes should be prioritized......

.....and everyone has a different idea of what that priority should be.

PvPers will want PvP prioritized
PvMers will want PvM prioritized
Crafters will want crafting bugs prioritized
house designers will want deco and housing bugs prioritized
EC users will want EC bugs prioritized
CC users will want CC bugs prioritized

There is no news in this, and this thread will likely become a debate of PvP vs PvM vs RP vs etc., CC vs EC, and lets throw Tram vs Fel in for good measure.

All I am saying is everyone has their own priorities...who shall decide what priority is most important?

Yeah, i've been trying to recreate this at luna bank :p without success, (only Classic clienters crash not EC)

I can see the client crashes being a good place to start.

But the most players might be an issue :)
I bet most players do not PvP...thus there would be no PvP bug fixes? I would hope not.

Also, is it better to fix one very difficult to fix bug, or several smaller, but easier to fix bugs.
or what of "value"?

a bug that effects a lot of people a little bit, or a bug that effects fewer people but is a major bug?

Any speed hacking and script usage imo should be TOP priority. This just happens to fall HIGHLY into the realm of pvp. Not that my input matters more than anyone else's and hopefully no less either, but I think GM's should be a tad more responsive those who are reported than they currently are. I've personally been attacked by people moving so fast they were facing East by the in game map, and moving south for several screens, and all in an instant. No I was not lagging.. This very same individual was moving so fast they couldn't even move in a straight line down a hall, and his buddies were moving just as fast in various random directions.. Moving SO fast in fact that holding CTRL and SHIFT to pull bars wasn't even possible, and yes top that off with the previously mentioned throwing of insane amounts of conflaguration pots and horrible use of illegal 3rd party "heal" bot programs and you're basically just stuck with your thumb in your butt while getting ganked by numerous cretins that need to learn how to actually play the game and not compare scripts to get an "edge" over legitimate players. Cheers.

I am not sure this is the best approach, I would say that most pvm bugs are not nearly as game breaking for the player experiencing them as most pvp bugs. That being said, there is far more pvm going on than pvp (even people who pvp also pvm, the same is not innately true in the reverse). Mostly just an observation, I would mostly just like to see various client crashing issues go away most of all (affects me both in pvm and pvp so its high on my list.)

Moving in one direction on screen and another on the map has nothing to do with "speed hacking" or how fast you are going. I am not saying people do not do such a thing, simply saying that is not a proof of your argument. The only thing in your post that is a bug is the confalg pots issue (presumably). Everyone assumes they have done nothing/have been doing nothing to help the speeding and scripting, but it could just be more difficult to battle than we just assume (although I have to say that speeding should not be possible since the server should never allow you to move faster than a designated speed, this speed should be easy to find, run a client from "a" server, preferably a test server, and see how fast you can travel, the server logs that you input it as the designated top speed, viola no one can go faster than that.) third party apps on the other hand is a whole different problem.

Well, Cloak, the extreme amount of speed that characters were moving is proof enough for me to absolutely beyond a shadow of a doubt know with NO chance of convincing me otherwise that they were speed hacking. It just so happened that particular character that attacked me was facing east the entire time they were moving south and attacking and throwing multiple potions at me and firing their bow, and summoning an orc brute on top of me (I'd say their name and NAMES if I knew it wouldn't get me in trouble, but I know who every single one of you are, and yes you were all reported by every single person you ganked), on top of instantly curing deadly poison inflicted by the rotting corpses they were flying through to get to us in all their hacking glory. So hopefully, that information can be used in an effort to stymie further speed hacking wildness.

I believe you that they were speeding, had a bit of a speeding episode on one shard last night as well. I am fairly certain my proposed method would stop all speeding and be a fair measure.

In my opinion one could classify most pvp bugs as combat bugs which effects pvm & pvp. Combat bug fixes are important and we are thankful for having awesome players that inform us of these issues. The more details we receive on how to reproduce a bug will greatly increase the chances of it getting fixed in following publishes.

All crashes are of the highest priority and please remember to submit the bug reports to [email protected].

Well, Bleak Mythic sir, at what level is scripting and speed hacking on the totem poll? I know you guys have a tall order to fill, and it's been rampant for a very long time, and I'm going to assume you guys know about it, but is that even something ya'll are trying to fix or resolve currently?

Well Sauteed...Jeff Skalski found this spreadsheet in his desk someone left there...... :)

oops, that just slipped out.

It would be interesting to know percentages of dev team members/dev team time spent on updating content, bug fixes, EC client development, etc. I know we will never know this as it is classified TOP SECRET/SCI, but would be interesting i am sure.

in my going on 11 years on these forums i have submitted countless bugs to that email even when it was owned by OSI. I have 15,000 plus posts and 14 years in this game and want to know how many suggestions i made that have been done and followed through with by Ultima owners?

zero. none. nada. why? cause i am a beta day 1 red and no one cares about reds in this game period.

When this game started every blue in the game did all they could to gank reds all day long, get that guy in stat loss, get all their stuff from their bank box. Now all that we get are candy land fixs.

The problem is the Issues that are addressed and fixed are coming from the wrong group of players, If you are excepting answers from trammel land people what is the point? Vets, TRUE VETS are who you need to speak too. Need a 14 year old sole owned account forum.

speedhacking has zero effect on your game play. Its your system or internet that is outdated. Server side speed is capped.

scripting? again? how mnay billion have they already deleted. how many houses went up in effigy?
give it a rest.

Bug fixes are a must. Crashing > over any other (unless it's some hacking of course). I crash on an hourly basis with EC.

Yeah, you take a night out in fel, and tell me Speed hacking has ZERO effect on your experience. And your 14 year old Sole owned account idea just seems like another ploy to limit the people that are reporting legitimate problems with the game. I'm not going to say you're in an idiot, cause you're not.. I'm just certain you haven't experienced what I'm talking about.

Edit - And if you think my system is outdated, I'll have a nice lol over that one.

I play a red, most of my suggestions are taken onboard. The trick is to abuse any bug and grief blues with it, then it gets fixed.

Also, talk about server capped movement speed.. explain paragon movement? I mean clearly man, speed hacking is rampant. Even the OP states in loose terms that speed hacking is a problem. (he just happens to believe there isn't a fix for that) And I apologize if it seems like I'm derailing this thread, but things that need to get fixed.. speed hacking is up there. (regardless if it's for pvp or pvm)

if speed hacking is capped at server side, why is then you move at diff speeds in ec client much faster on my system I would almost consider it speed hacking.

I saw someone move sideways so fast it was like messena messing with me, speed hacking has always been in UO and their is no fix ppl wont find a way around.

my 2 cents

I find it highly ironic that most ppl think scripting and PvP go hand in hand when in reality there are a lot more non PvP scripts than there are PvP scripts. There are also a lot more newer players that script skills than vet "PvP" players because the vets already have the majority of the skills stored on soul stones.

Now back on topic please please please fix party and non party bars. There is no reason why all the bars have to mess up when a new person is added to the party. Also please make it so the life bar does not disapear just because someone dies.

This makes no sense at all. The issues that are addressed are coming from people providing accurate information on what the problems are and how to reproduce them (i.e. the thread on intensity values that shows Durability and Lower Requirements being out of whack and how they were out of whack).

If bug reports are coming in, they're coming from the right group of people... the ones that report them.

If you are excepting answers from trammel land people what is the point? Vets, TRUE VETS are who you need to speak too. Need a 14 year old sole owned account forum.
As a "Twoo Vetahwan" myself, the above statement makes even less sense than the first one. I don't care if someone has played for 14 days or 14 years... if they can provide legitimate information that leads to a bug fix, then they are the right people regardless of what facet or playstyle they follow.
