Is the blaze color Tram house rune by design or an accident?

I’m sorry I didn’t ask this awhile ago… but I’ve been wondering since it started. Having houses and shops in Tram, I noticed the first day that they changed the color of the standard house runes from dull light blue to brilliant blaze, like paragon color blaze. They are also shop runes and not house runes, even if they have no vendors in them.

Was this a mistake or was this by design?

I figured it would have been corrected at the next publish or update… but it's still the same. Not that I don’t mind… just the runes we drop do get a little LOUD.

I also never made sense to me that the standard tram house rune being that dull light blue… was joined by the Tokono house runes being almost the same exact color. Malas got purple. Fel is dark red. And that SA land is teal or whatever.

The runes marked in a house and having a unique color only made by doing so. Keeps the silly players from marking runes to a bad spot and naming them as a vendor house as a giggle. Just a safe way to know your going to a house sign in those lands. And not some 7th level of hell.

Trust me, I have seen death runes. As a rule, I always tell newer people to never recall to a non-house rune, no matter what it says. Having good hide and stealth skills, you can avoid issue if you’re fingers are on the right keys as you recall. ;) Then, it seems on my shard, anything in the way of non-house Malas runes will just take you to Lagtown where the prices are high, so I don’t bother with them either.

It's just you know how the staff is sometimes. A little accident happens, they play it off as by design, then it's fixed very soon. If this wasn’t by actually design, I’m wondering if it will be fixed. Just trying to keep up.

Haha, I have had this happen to me. Landed right in the middle of about five lich lords. I got lucky and was able to recover my body though... that time. After leaving I could swear I tossed that rune in the trash but lo and behold about a week later I do the same - but this time really stupid - thing. Good for a laugh now but then, oh boy was I pissed.

I too get the occasional rune of a blaze color and was wondering what the story is behind it.

Trammel shop runes were intended to be that color from the beginning, but someone fat-fingered the hue value in the code. Nobody ever caught it. We corrected it recently (while doing some updates for ship rune hues) because the hue was so close to the Tokuno one.

Oh wow! A Systems Designer answered the mystery! I feel honored. :thumbup1: Wish I could get a few more questions answered as easily. ;) hehe. Thank you, Pheonix.
