A Greater Earth Elemental… with no fertile dirt at all. Logic price check?

I’ve been a little busy to post this question… but I checked out this “long overdue” publish last week… dungeon Shame, with a copied powerful stealthier, I quickly got frustrated and quit before really doing any experiments.

Before the 3 NPC sellers were selling fertile dirt, I was running my plant factory off of dirt collected in the first level of dungeon Shame. My poor old old-school fighter, who’s not much for most things these days… ideal for resource collection with a few hours and some over-kill on normal old Earth Elementals. Goodness knows how many countless hours I spent doing this and it was fun, to a degree. 1-hit-kills… got to love it. True, I slowed down with the SA city sellers, BUT I grew over 300 plants a time doing this the old way. When I herd the news that this dungeon was going revamp… I knew it would spell a bad blow to many new players, forget the dirt farmers like I used to be.

THEN, on my exploration… I spotted “a Greater” Earth Elemental… I did a classic “Scooby-Doo” double-take. Oh, heck yeah! (I said something a little more powerful). So, not on my better hunter, I prepared to take this thing downtown… and it was nastier then I expected for what limited power I had. The elemental finally died… I hopped over for a look… NO DIRT!!! In shock. For a moment, I was thinking my tamer and big dog would be farming these like the old days for double digit dirt piles vs. the 1-5 of the old. Nothing. Well… no point of wasting a second on this! Very disappointing. The ‘rocket scientists’ with the big ideas let me down again.

Just thought I’d mention it… seeing, the publish may come soon.

They are greater because they have no fertile dirt. All used for their strength.

This sure seems like an oversight to me. Hopefully the right person will see this post and make the quick and easy adjustment to the Greater Earth Elementals loot table.

it's possible this elemental is made by earth but is not fertile :D

Oh, and don´t forget despise evilpixie! (the first level going down is full of earth elementals and ettins) Once they redo it, who knows?
But my guess would be that they leave despise as a dungeon for beginners (it has a tradition for new players because of being close to brit).

I have collected over 200 fertile dirt in shame over the course of a few hours. The Greater Earth Ellies do carry it just not all the time. Sometimes you'll find 12 dirt sometimes none.

But it's there :)

I believe it's the greater earth ellies that drop the nice big fat nuggets of high end ore. Got a nice chunk of valorite ore off one on Origin a week ago.

Oh yeah if you want high end ore that's the place to be. I drop all the ore gold and higher on the ground if anyone needs it. Still wary about transferring my crafter back from Atlantic even though it SEEMS all shards got the publish, there hasn't been official confirmation so I'll just leave my ore for others until I can get her home lol.

You guys must not be aware...

Do you know what fertile dirt... IS... ???

It's earth elemental poop.

And the greater earth elementals don't poop.

Mystery solved!

good, this fit perfectly.

So the first 2 levels will be perfect for miners:
earth elementals drops random ore
stone elementals drops sand and granite
trolls drops saltpeter and black powder

Apparently, the publish has gone live… so I popped in and checked it out with my tamer.

Yeah… stone elementals have single granites.

What really gets me, there seam to be pockets of 30+ monsters just waiting to suck your pet in and then switch off to you when waiting for their turn to become a chew-toy. Everything, and I mean every item of armor and weapons are “special”. lol. Meanwhile, there’s no time to sort as the spawn is way overboard. Second level is better, but still… way too powerful for 500 gold and a hand-full of junk. You would be spending so much extra time marking and carrying out extra goods like ores and stone… otherwise, I don’t see the point. A friend was trying to mark runes all the way down and was cursing a storm because of how much worse it gets on the way down. I mean… they really did ruin a really good dungeon for those newer players that were don’t killing Brigands at the camp.

Also… gang, the hope the greater earth elementals would generate 10x more dirt was exactly for the reason of cutting down that 2 hour window. No other monster drops greater amounts of dirt to make it any faster. Once you get going with the NPCs that sell dirt, in 2 hours time… you can collect more like 6k or so. I never expected that much… but something would be better then 200 in 2 hours.

Wonderful to have a new challenge... in a new dugeon, not killing a perfectly working duneon. They should have done this to Wrong. After they added the Juka, then removed them... no one hunts that anymore.

Don't forget that green thorns planted in dirt not only give you reagents but furtile dirt too!! And you don't have to kill a thing!!! Being a gardener you should have plenty of thorns.
