So, initially I thought "Great idea! At least vets stuck on a shard since years will be able to move all their chars to another shard with some preparation".

But now that I actually look in the details, it appears that you cannot bring unstabled pets with you, meaning no packys no beetle and you are limited to what the char can hold and his bankbox, so at max 300 items (125+175). So how exactly are you supposed to do to move all the suff from your house at once? You can't even do it over time since you would need a house on each shard.

It really stucks for those of us who permanently relocated IRL, and I really had high hopes those Shard Shields would have been an answer, but why the hell do we need to stable pets???

If you want to move your house/stuff... you'll have to buy a full X-fer token. The tokens from the shields are not ment to be used to transport lock, stock and your smoking barrels.

If anything they should make it so that you can only take 125 items in any xfer.

I hardly see why. Such limitation favors pure traders that just xfer a bunch of items for quick profit, while normal players who move IRL (hell in 14 years it DOES happen) can't really get the benefit of permamoving with those tokens. Even using 1 regular token + 6 shield tokens isn't enough to move all 7 chars and the content of a 18x18.

Then you've either got alot of rubbish littering up your house or you hoard everything.

The tokens are not designed to move you from one shard to another, they are designed to shard hop with a toon.

If you want to move then you'll have to use regular tokens. And remember if you use a regular xfer you can have 5 packies, your bank and your backpack (Which numbers at lest 825 items).

Ridiculous. 1 account, 7 chars, 1 house. Yes the house is nearly full but it's hardly what I would call hoarding. There is just so much I can put on vendors at once.

Actually nobody ever stated what they were designed for.
The point is I can't see any reason of the pets limitation other than blocking permamoving.
If the idea is to force people who move IRL to spend money for nothing I think it's lame. Especially since we are talking about people who have already paid thousands of dollars in monthly fees and expansions for 14 years.

It's fine as it is.

If you really want to move EVERYTHING then you will just have to settle for waiting months while you do it with one character at a time. Don't forget that these these tokens are FREE and unlimited (in the sense that you get one each month). Or if you have two shields then you can go back and forth with one character.

Otherwise there are the character transfer tokens that will let you take pets with your. These rewards aren't made to replace the profitable tokens that they've been selling for years but as a nice alternative with limitations for the 14 year vets.

Unfortunately it is not. And believe me I wish I could not say that.

Impossible, even if you don't mind the 1 year+ it would take, you would need to maintain a house on each shard during the entire process, something which is not doable on 1 account.

And unload the stuff where?

My entire point is that the volume limitation doesn't affect traders but only affects people who want/need to permamove all their chars and stuff. Trying to milk people who relocate IRL is already not very nice, but specifically adding this limitation to a 14th year Vet Reward is really lame.

Now of course there is a way around it: using the Shard Shield Tokens to make money out of xshard trading, and using the money made to buy normal tokens to use for permamoving. But somehow I hardly think that is the way it should work.

So want to move a lot of stuff to another shard, refuse to drop your house on your main shard, but you can't hold a second house. So what is the issue with the vet reward then when the real issue is that you can't put up another house? This sounds to be your true problem, not the inability to transfer with pets to hold more stuff for you.

Because with a bit of patience you can accumulate enough tokens before transferring to send a number of characters over with the stuff you need but that still doesn't seem to be good enough for you. Because if you want to move a lot of stuff with packhorses we run back to your initial problem of where are you going to unload it.

For the people who do want to perma-move their characters the housing isn't a problem. It will be a bit tricky to do but not impossible so your situation can't really speak for them since you already insinuated that you want to keep your house. Back accounts can be used to hold the heavy stuff and a bit of organizing will solve the rest unless we are talking about the people that have every character loaded up and a house completely loaded, but those people can figure it out themselves if they refuse to purchase transfer tokens.

When transferring for good from one Shard to another, it is necessary, as I see it, to have houses on both Shards so as to have somewhere to store whatever is coming from the source Shard.

But we know, that it ain't possible to have 2 houses on 1 account.

Therefore, since there is a week (or is it not a week ?) before the condemned house decays, it looks necessary that the player transferring for good might be able to do it real fast, in just a handfull of days.

Pack horses do come handy to this purpose as one can carry along 4 plus a blue beetle being riden. That's a good load of storage moved onto the new Shard per transfer.....

I really see it hardly possible to move for good from one Shard to another without the ability to carry pack animals loaded. The requirement that all pets be stabled makes it pretty much a no-no, IMHO, to be able to change Shard for good using Shard Shields.

It is indeed possible for some people to do that. All you need to do is accumulate enough tokens by waiting X months, pack up the stuff in the house into your backpacks and bank accounts then leave. There are indeed some people who have way too much stuff to do that but that's why there are the transfer tokens they sell.

As previously mentioned these vet rewards are not made to replace the more powerful transfer tokens that have been in existence for many years now. It would be a stupid move on the Devs part to make these rewards just as good as the normal tokens, that would clearly remove potential buyers. These tokens instead are for the more casual player who simply wants to go to another shard as opposed to move everything they own to another place. Given that these tokens only spawn once a month it wouldn't make a whole lot of sense why someone would pick this reward to permanently move from their home shard to another.
