When the Britanina boat came out - everyone wanted one. Then they showed up in the UO code store. Well here we are again. I know everyone wants one. So when will we see em in the UO code store? I think it will be a big money maker for EA. I won't buy a x-fer token for real cash. But I would definitely buy at least 2 of these.

I might well be wrong, but I suspect that for this particular Veteran Reward there is no plan to put it on sale as a purchaseable code.
Why do I think so ?
Because it has been designed as account bound and for the very few 14th Years Veteran Accounts that are out there........ I think this speaks volumes why we won't see this particular item as a purchaseable code.......
Frankly, I agree with it (i.e. not being purchaseable).
Eventually, lower age accounts will come to the active age to be eligible to also claim it, given time.

All you have to do is wait till your account is 14 years like the rest of us.
Or you could go buy a Xfer with gold on your shard or via the Gamecode site like we all do.

Sure they should. $100 for a shard shield with 12 charges on it and it is fixed for 1 shard only. So for $200 you get to do 12 round trips.
Not sure the reasons for wanting to do 12 round trips from one set server to another and being willing to pay a lump sum 100 USD for the privilege are healthy...
When the house teleporter 11th year gifts came out they were awesome...then all of a sudden u could craft one or buy one..and recharge it with gate scrolls...
kinda guess this will happen with the shard shields too...
maybe takes 1000 gate scrolls per recharge monthly??? would deffo make sense...and if they sold em $9.99-19.99$ they would make a mint at EA....by doing soooo

Give it up guys. Look its nice you want to give money to get this item but its a Reward.
If your account is not old enough I am truly sorry. The made it account bound for a reason. As I see it its a good thing they did. They get $ from transfers, now yes this shield transfer puts a limit by how much you can take as its only your bank and what you got on you. So I dont see much cuts into that $ they get from the token sale.

Yeah they should add them to the store.... for $1680 (168 months at $10)... or maybe half since I'm nice 
No THP they would loose a mint becuase then players wouldnt be buying Xfers.

its very very common knowledge the olde ''transfer tokens'' were very very highly duped...lets kick the dupers in the teeth and make this happen!!!!!!!!!!
I believe most things have been duped to some extent now however I see little proof that there is a glut of duped X-fers on the shards at the moment. At one time I was able to buy Xfer's for 10-12m now I'm lucky if I find one for 16m
I'm sure the Devs didn't make these the way they are just on a whim. They have put thought into it and the restrictions on their use is there for a reason. Polls on message boards and players who think they know better are not going to coerce them into making changes.
And I really hope they dont change them too!

Well, while some changes would be detrimental I would not conclude that necessarily all proposed changes might be detrimental to them or to the game.......
Definately, they need to think them over well but I would imagine that "some" changes "might" be welcomed and accepted without much harm done to the game........
It's obvious that this is a vet reward but yet again EA always has surprises to profit from such things. Personally you have players that have stayed (or bought older vet accounts) that have put in time and pockets full of pain all the way to achieve such a good reward.
My opinion if they did put it on the cash shop it's not game ending. May charge way more for it then a regular xfer token but if it's a desirable pixel players will pay for it no matter the price

What they should do is make Account age boosts purchaseable. Of course some vets might cry about this so maybe make some alterations.
have 2 account ages, one thats your true age and one that can be boosted. Have a reward thats only obtainable at your true account age for each year maybe. That way the true vets would still have something they can get that younger accounts cant, and young accounts can at least get up to Ethy and 720 skill cap level.

No one in any time period thought this game would still be around today. So that's a pretty damn good defense to tell you to be patient until you will be old enough to claim it.
In the meantime however there are plenty of transfer tokens to buy that don't make you wait a month.
If you are doing round trips then you need 2 of these at $100 each. They would be just like the Vet Shard Shields but only have 12 charges on them with no way to recharge them. Want more Shards or tokens then buy more at $100 each.
And how many subscribers are there now compared to then? How many new subscribers? How many actually stay?
Apparently, enough to have the game continue and, by the way, I see players returning to Ultima Online after they have experienced other games......
last time i give in.... i will wait and stack the gifts for 2 more years...its just something i think everyone should be able to do...its like the best reward ever and most useable....i can wait...its just a shame for the 1/2/3 year players it may put them off for good...its like when u first started uo.... dreamed of riding a ethy horse,,,2 years seemed a mile stone away....so 12 years or more for the younger players will just kill any hopes they have....[sorry devs and other player this is a bad move...END]
I would be one returning been back since sept and at first I was excited to be back enjoying the new high seas and SA but then halloween came and it sucked now these rewards WTF are they thinking? This is not what will attract new players or even old ones to bring back. I've played off and on since 2001 my account isn't even 4 yr yet because UO can't keep interested long enough. All hopes of a future of UO for me went on the shelf with WoW's panda's. If I'm going to pay to play then I'm going to play something that gives my money worth now I feel like I've wasted money upgrading my accounts with all the boosters.
I have noticed that several businesses have promotions and ways to promote and prize customer loyalty to their brand/product. The Veteran rewards program for Ultima Online I see it as something much similar. This is standard business practise from what I understand.
So, if customer loyalty is worthy of being prized, I do not think one should be surprised to see accounts being prized because they have been kept as active for a longer time as compared to accounts having been closed, even though from time to time.
