My argument on the matter? I can give several.
1 - I'ld like to be rewarded for being loyal to a game, maybe new players should get somethng too but definately not the shield. It will be open to abuse. I look forward to achiving the next annual vet reward and when I take it I know that it means something. If I go and buy it, then it just means I'm throwing cash out the window. (For your info, a 14 year Vet has paid over $1500 for his game, a 3 month new player has paid $30. You do the math)
2 - I have kids whom take most of my money and considering that the UOGamecodes store is something I dont ever use. I cant afford it. UO is an online game so in my view you should be able to aquire all items in game not by the size of your bank account.
3 - As a game producer myself, I am very much aware of the benefits of offering loyality bonus's. It promotes higher returning players and increases expectations. By giving unique items to Vets, it fosters this scheme.
4 - You have some rares that I want. But they dont spawn anymore.. I know I'll complain till the Dev's put them in the UOGamecodes store so I can buy them... Actually lets push so I can get arties too... Oh and reagents, ethys, dye tubs, Conjurer's Garbs. I Tell you what, There was a singular server birth rare that I always wanted.. worth billions of gold (per say). Lets put that in the store for $10 so that everyone can have it. My point here is that its an online game that has limitations on certain items (Be it not spawning anymore or simply not available) the Shield is one of those items that are very rare. A new player shouldnt just be able to have it... Unless of course your suggesting that the DEV's make it so that every rare/high end drop is available from the store so that we dont actually have to play the game and can have it all NOW!
5 - I dont like people moaning about every descission the Dev's make
6 - I think people should be grateful for what they get and be pleased for others.
