[UO Herald] Critical Fix To Origin

Greetings,

Due to the critical issue found on Origin we are going to revert it to the last publish date which was 11/1. We are sorry for the time lost, but do not want you to lose any more items because of this issue. As you know Origin is a test server, and from time to time we have to fix things here by reverting. We appreciate your understanding and willingness to take this all in stride.

• Loot fix in Shame that was causing player items to be reformatted.
• You can now drag and drop items into the SOT Book and Seed boxes
• Corrected an issue with obtaining the Seed box in the Veteran Reward System
• Summoned pets will no longer attack each other
• Fixed an issue with the respawn timer on the Cave Troll in Shame

This is EXACTLY why they always need to remember to let things have some time on Origin before they let them out to all shards... it's tough on the Origin folks at times, but it was the whole point of the shard in the first place, really - and their work finding stuff that would be disastrous for everyone if it got let loose is appreciated.

They should be fixing these issues while on TC1, but it's good to see they removed the bugs that were mentioned though, before hitting every shard.

TC1 is more of a....hmm...not sure how to put it...fun testing shard?

Most of the people on test went to shame to test the new loot and monsters while forgetting there was a whole bunch of other stuff too.

Not saying that EVERYONE does that, but when it hits a live shard like Origin where people do their every day things more bugs get noticed.

While the revert sucks, it's good to see that the devs are finally willing to do whatever it takes to make sure bugs are quashed before they wreak havoc on all the shards.

Thank you for jumping on this and fixing it so quickly! I'm glad people will get their stuff back. I know some folks will have to retrain skills, and I'll have to recollect stuff and trash it and collect spring cleaning goodies, but that's just part of playing on Origin. Gonna go back to Shame sometime later and see if the loot mods are still comparable to what they were before the revert and if the salt peter, black powder, and potash drops are still the same. Curious whether you slipped in anything to dampen those a bit. Some of them still kinda make my eyes bug out a bit. (Well, not the ship supply stuff. Really loving that stuff dropping on the wall guardians.)

Quick question that I hope someone on the UO team can answer: If someone used up a vet reward choice on Origin since the publish hit Origin, has their vet reward count been adjusted back upward now that they no longer have that item in their possession?

I didn't claim anything, but I suspect a few people might have.

Things are looking up I will say that.

Sorry Origin had to be reverted but that is why we have it. Unlike TC1 Origin has things that people use everyday... It's got rares and other items folk have collected over the years. So it's a good place to see how things will effect our day to day UO lives.

Sadly this means they must take things in stride when their home is reverted wiping out days of hard work... but it's good these things are caught and fixed before everyone has to revert.



Thanks for taking one for the greater good Origin Players... And thanks for actually REPORTING Bugs... It's important we remember to report issues .... DEV's can't fix what they aren't aware of. And you shouldn't assume someone else is going to report something.

There is 3 people who took about 3 hours of their time to equip me so I could test this and perhaps make it my second server... marked me runes... helped me buy stuff, its all the time I had to play those days.

hehe I didn't know it was a revert shard... I tought TC1 should take care of revertable issues, then Origin publish should be only minor bugs...

The people I met on Origin didn't sound like they played other servers, they didn't even seem to care Shame had changed ; proof is they gated me to deceit to test my new suit lol...

I was like NO ... the party is at SHAME in FEL !!!! hehe

Just wondering, bug or intended, the -100 luck on items counts as a mod, and -100 intensity on items. Being that most items have this -100 luck on them, is it intended for this to happen to them?

So what do you do if you bought a code for a Forged Metal of Artifacts and redeemed it before the revert? I've tried using the code and it says it's already been used but I obviously don't have the metal of artifacts anymore. Waiting on a GM to respond for 15 minutes now.

Glad everyone is so happy, im not, ive lost more than 20 points (67-91) in necro training with no SoTs or SoAs used and 100% attended as well as lots of other skills and stuff.

The old seed box was public and would keep the seeds and give them to someone else later on.

Read the whole thing and nothing about durability being added to jewelry that is looted.


AS for the -100 that is meant to be a neg effect and counts as a mod. All good if it counts as 100 towards the unravel.

Im sure your skills which you can easily retrain (cmon necro is like one of the easiest skills to do) dont compare with suits, artifacts, and other items lost due to the bug with the new Shame.

People werent losing "Luck Suits". They were losing ANY suit, artifacts, items in their bank ect ect
