I wanted to create a thread for things that have not happen but could happen.

It is sort of a support group thread to worry about things that haven't happened and might not happen.

I will start.

I am Raven and I worry about things that don't exist. I argue my point when my point is based on speculation. It is a no win situation yet I continue to do it.

Today, I am just going to express my worries without defending them.

Yes, and I'm sure you don't think about things on your car until the check engine light is on either....sometimes it's better to diagnose and fix a potential problem before it becomes one, sometimes a very costly one. While the chance is slim the devs do read these boards and discussion on potential issues with new features can point out issues that they have not thought of, and actually from time to time has stopped an ill-advised change from happening. (such as the recent change to spell damage in pvp, it did get a bump but not an insane one like was proposed)

I usually try not to reply to troll posts, but i had a good car analogy for this one....and everyone loves car analogies.

Only 27% of cars sold when UO was released are still on the road.

To make another analogy, UO has the very nasty habit of trashing a perfectly good car to get the newest fad then *censored*

It's amazing that *censored*

You know engine lights are timers. They are a reminder. Thats about it.

But I will start worrying my oil is prematurely breaking down. And I will worry the seals are cracking.

Hell, I might as well go get a cat-scan for the ache in my toe.

The check engine lights up permanently if for example one of your exhaust catalysers is useless.

You might chose to ignore it, and then it wont affect much your driving, but you will be releasing carbon monoxide into the air. In the middle of Oaklahome ah it might not be that much of a difference, but what if there's 200 people like "you" on a single day in a small street where there is no wind, and baby carriages are being pushed on this sidewalk ? in a heavily populated city where the paving alone usually made from tars evaporate in the heat of the sun...

You get carbon monoxide damage to the baby's brain... but it also dosen't show up at first.

"You" cry later, not a good analogy, or it's not mature enough yet in my opinion. You also cannot see when the seals are cracking, you usually see it when doing maintenance or oil change ; or you hear it if you're very good.

But what if your not good at mechanics and the maintenance guy dosen't care, or even worse choses not to tell you because they know its going to make another thing break which will lead you to buy even more repairs from them.

What when the maintenance guy has built a habitat so shielded from sound that you can't hear your engines anymore ?

I am very worried that I don't worry enough.

I am worried that if I DON'T worry, then others might stop.

A world without worry frightens me.

We need it.

Thanks for the thread, Raven...I was worried i was going to have to start my own, and then I was worried I forgot how...Oh GOD!!!

Your sort of proving my point. You have an engine light lit and a problem. It should be addressed.

What you are saying is what if that engine light turns on and it is ignored, and I am in the street and carbon m seeps over due to the wind where I am sitting... (THIS AINT HAPPENING)

I just took care of my engine light last week. Oil change time. But I didnt worry what if it is time to change my oil but light isnt coming on.

It is creepy. It should be moved.

But I am worried they might add dragons to Shame at the entrance and I wont be able to get in. I think that would be unfair for several reasons.

1) Shame is not a dragon dungeon.
2) What point is there to making a dungeon entrance so difficult.
3) I think it prevent younger casual players from going into shame.

I hope the devs listen to this and not consider putting dragons in the entrance of shame.

Umm yes and no...

That is if you can afford to address the problem ; as it is with the ANALOGY... it might be more akin to someone who is very hungry, but choses to repair his car over eating well, just because he releases some carbon monoxide.

In a heavy populated city like much I can imagine, when there is no wind, the space between the buildings quickly fills with car exhaust, you actually can clean your nose and have a black tissue in new-york for example. I don't mind it now and then... but a baby does not have the choice ; and so the analogy works oh too well for OUR new players.

Oh mama mia...

You forgot it was an analogy, where is your mind so occupied ?

Please lock.

I used to worry about almost everything. Now I try not to, but it's hard. I still tend to worry about people, although that kind of worrying is usually unproductive since the only person I actually have any control over is myself. I used to worry about UO, too, but have managed to trade that worry (for the most part) into appreciation and enjoyment. Nothing and no one lives forever, and since I have far fewer years ahead of me than behind... well, I try to find something to enjoy in each and every day while trying to keep the worrying at a minimum.

This exactly!!! It would be a shame if they ruined shame for the younger and mid range players?? If they were to do this, what were they thinking?
I would create a poll to see if this could be addressed, but I'm worried I might miss an option on the poll, and it be useless!

Agreed... Shame is iconic, at least in my opinion, of a place where young fighters go to build their melee skill, fighting Earth Ellies.

I wanted to do a poll but was afraid it would be used against me as an opinion of all UO players versus the actual players polled.

I worry more that noone else adds anything of value to it and that it falls into forgetfullness...

Sometimes life shows me things more powerful than me and I tremble in front of its power of life. Be it the smallest bacteria to the higher mammal, something somewhere has the capability to expand your mental processes just by making you aware of a possibility.

In that sense, we explored only a part of our sciences, the rest will be told to us by a "higher intelligence".

On one hand we have some people proposing this alegory, while others insist its not an alegory because its a game which wasn't an allgory in the design.

like what might'd happened this also caused an expansion in mind, wether you like it or not, it might be our only alternative to a shaman.

We be our own guides in this multiverse that is : Ultima Online *shivers* haha

That is, what might'd happened if we were in an alegory of a game within a community that might happened to care about it's whereabouts in the galaxy, metaphorically speaking of course.
