Hello EM Malachi ....iam very new to this xshard style of event play ....and iam interested in joining this royal guard meet ups....alas even with the early morning start times from the uk ...i will find it easier to play usa shard events rather than europa events due to most of ours being at the weekends , which is when is the time i work in real life.
Is it possible to join in the ranks even at this late stage of proceedings.

The Spy Rank Boots are only available for those who attended at least three events before June 28th. We had to set this cutoff for logistics reasons (the player list currently has over a thousand names that cover over 120 royal spy events). However, we will likely do a promotion ceremony with a different item in the future, so you are welcome to start working toward that.
The Royal Spies on GL meet every Tuesday at the Counselor's Hall in Britain at 8pm CST. Click the suit of armor to enter their base under the hall. All are welcome.

All of the boots are "Britannian Royal Spy - Rank" based on the rank achieved by the person. Spy Ranks, in ascending order, are:
1. Pigeon Watcher
2. Cat Keeper
3. Serpent Shadower
4. Orc Ambusher
5. Dragon Finder
6. Lich Dodger
7. Demon Breaker
8. Wyrm Fixer
9. Balron Baffler
10. King Listener

Is there any special skill sets needed to be part of these events..I mean is hiding/stealthing desirable or necessary, etc. Are these events just open for everyone or do I need to contact someone to start attending?
They Royal Spy events are held every Tuesday at 9pm Eastern Time, in the secret spy base. To get there, double click the suit of armor on the west wall of the Counselors' Guild Hall in West Brit. For event time join the "EM Event" global chat channel. (No dash, no "official.")
No special skills are needed. You should bring a character you can effectively group PvM with, but sometimes people from other shards bring noob characters to have half a chance at the occasional items.
Aside from lag due to lots of people being there (because the events on GL are really good, and hence are quite popular), the only negative side I can think of is some players spamming for items and others who grief the events, thinking that doing so will somehow increase their chances for items.
