Vanishing carpet tile supplies

Given that most people play in the evenings, why is it impossible on the East Coast, on the Legends Shard to purchase carpet tiles every single evening?

Legends has a low population. They cannot possibly all be sold out, night after night. Will something bad happen if characters can purchase these tiles at will? But sure enough, come peak play hours, the carpet inventory mysteriously tanks.

I haven't run into this problem, and I play on Legends. Have you done the quest that grants you the ability to purchase the rugs? UO Stratics *New* | Custom Carpets

its pretty stupid they thought it was a super great idea to double click these to lock them down.. i dont know how many times ive logged in to see a hole in my carpet where i clicked it by accident and it unlocked

Yes I've done the quest. I can buy carpets during the day. Every evening that I go to the vendor I get the message "Sorry I have nothing for you."

I'm not in game and have not checked this, but seems to me I got that message one time and then realized I had clicked on the wrong vendor. Good luck. Hope you figure it out!
