Player Race Tags (I Don't Want to Post in uhall)

Just wondering what my fellow Chessy people thought about the devs implementing a tag, maybe in paretheses above a character's head to describe what you are. With the ability of humans to wear elven robes etc it gets confusing. It would be easier to see what people are or want to be. I know in the EC you can change your face to undead, juka, etc. But without a tag most people will simply not "get it" This is of course an RP thing. But it might make it easier for people to know that you are Role Playing a Dwarf as an example. I'm not sure that anyone cares about this, but I thought I would throw the idea out there. Thanks!

Ye mean like?

Gareth the Vampire
Sean the Elf
Savarc the Lich Lord

Wouldn't mind something like that but adding another addition to what can already be put on looks cluttered and lots of information for all names. I think players forget that they have a profile as well, maybe a fun revamping of the profile to be a character sheet?

I am talking about something like (Vampire) (Undead) (Juka) (Meer) (Savage) (Orc) under someone's name maybe in a grey color or something. The EC client gives faces but they don't translate into the 2d client. I know there is alot of junk over our heads already so this is probably a bad idea. The Character profile is a good solution already in place but I don't think many people look at them. I like the character Sheet idea.

I think it's a silly idea.

I see a lot of the so-called Role Players leaving their profiles blank. Profiles were specifically implemented for role players to use as a space for their character description or back story.

Other than the profile, you have a guild title that can be anything that doesn't violate the terms of use policy.

We all know the UO staff at Bioware/Mythic is small, some of them pull duty on at least one other game (Kai Schober's name is all over the DAoC Herald). So why ask them to implement new features when the current features aren't being used?

Just my ¢2.

This actually is a pretty good idea... I remember when we all stood around and put our wares we had for sale in our profiles and spammed SELLING RARES, SEE PROFILE! For five hours a day... oh, good times.

In all honesty, it sounds too much like wanting custom titles. If you have a pre-determined list, people will complain that X, Y, and Z are not included. If it isn't a pre-determined list you will see our lovely mature, intelligent, high-class playerbase abuse it.

I personally don't care one way or the other... But Benito has a very valid point. I would much prefer the Mythic staff to fix what we have and are supposed to have right now.

You know that if they mess with the name titles something crazy like bacon is going to wind up in our valantines boxes. Or some other off the wall weird reaction to any change in the 14 year old code.

But I don't see why the guild title wouldn't work for this in the first place, aside from color thing you suggest. The only restrictions would be that you'd be in a guild and couldn't have different colors for the races.

Also, I am pretty good at spotting the gargoyles, they're the guys with the wings.

Hey! Do you know how much time and effort it takes to double click a profile?!!? *Grins*

:stir:

*Looks at his own profile* Hey! Did you all know mine was blank?!?! *Fixes*

(Writers block) What should I put in it?

Be careful of what you ask for is the lesson I am taking from it all.:stir:
Of course I also agree with Benito about just using the current system in place for that. Thats what I used to do when I RPed a dwarf.

With the new title system already in it would not take much effort to add a few lines for Orc, Goblin and whatever else. So lets not all act like this would take months of effort and the game would collapse if they added it.
