Training Forensic Eval?

Hello,

I can´t trigger in which Profession Forum Forensic Eval is discussed... So i post here..

How can i gain forensic eval?

I checked uoguide, where is written that i can gain on lockpicked paragon chests...

Tried that, didn´t work.

And i really don´t want to kill me over and over to look at my bones....

Any other ideas?

Its very easy.

First buy as much skill you can get from a Bloodletter, Healer Guildmaster, Judge or Fortune Teller.


Then go to kill animals on a farm (Jhelom farm) and look at every corpse.

Do this until 41 skill.

After that just look at a lockpicked chests over and over (Paragon chests work well) And train your skill up to GM.



Forensics Training is in Uo Scouts.

Easiest way in the world...

All those Paragon chests you store your stuff in, Forensic Eval them and gain like mad.

I went from 50 to GM in a bit over 6 hours using UOAssist. Record a macro targetting 20 chests one at a time, set macro key and bang away.
It gains even if you don't find out who picked the lock on the chest, about every 7th chest I got a gain.

I tried on chest first after i bought the skill but it did not work. So i spend time on Jhelom farm killing animals looking at there corpses. So after every point from 30 - 31 .... to 41 i kept looking a few times at my chest in my backpack and right after 41 i gained and kept gaining on it. I am now at 95 and hoping to get GM before the publish with the honesty Virtues.

I've done Forensic for 2 accounts now - throw it on a stone and use it on different characters.
I usually start a new character with 50 and do my wall of chests, so I've never had the issue of not gaining off of chests. Glad to know it starts at 40+ for future.

I've been slowly training it from 0 on Siege on one character (can't buy skills training). Glad to know that at 41 I can switch to chests instead of checking corpses. Maybe now I'll have enough incentive to finish it. Have been disappointed so far trying to use it to identify members of the thieves' guild. Anyone know at what level that ability kicks in if you have the skill?

pub 72 whats coming do i need to start training too?

already see i have to train stealing and snooping when i get home from holiday for the new thief quests so is this a third skill i need omg need to create a new char, what acct do i need to use, where can i fit such a char........................STRESS and i am on holiday to unwind!!!!!!!!!

I trained forensics on a character so it can ID honesty items i found for he right owner and town to turn it in. That will give me more gain in Honesty Virtue.

Honesty Virtue

As you travel the lands of Trammel and Felucca, you may find lost items. These items will say “Lost Item (Return To Gain Honesty)” when you mouse-over them.

To turn in a lost item for Honesty credit: In a bank of each of the Virtue Towns (Britain, Yew, Moonglow, Trinsic, Skara Brae, New Magincia, Jehlom, and Minoc) there is a lost and found box. Put the item in the box for Honesty credit. You may use Forensic Evaluation skill to gain more information about the owner of the item. If you turn the item into the Lost And Found Box in the city where the owner lives, you will get double Honesty points for your extra effort. If you give the item to the original owner, you will get quadruple honesty points.

Honesty gives you discounts at NPC merchants. The higher your rank in Honesty, the bigger your discount. The discount is applied to the total purchase. The discount is not shown in the merchant window, but you will see a system message once you make the purchase.

I'v e raised it a 41.1 forensic eval but if i try to use a paragon chest ( a gargoule chest) it doens't raise
What can i do?

It's been opened right? A locked one wont work.

Also, as I've had this happen to me, make sure you have room to gain skill.

*thinks back to all those wasted tattered treasure maps*

Keep doing forensics at the chest. You will fail a lot but it works.

i suggest as another method, kill the slimes/gremlin at fire underworld entrance. always stay still, spawn in same place. can be trouble because of that but can put char in safe place and kill slimes then forensic them.

I used one of the Yew sheep pens... shear, kill, eval, repeat to 41, then a paragon chest till around the mid 80s which works well on an alt to ID the Honesty items. Now I need to get a listing of the various NPCs and cities and narrow down their general locations, running all over Yew and Britain is quite a pain... the Moonglow and Minoc ones have been relatively easy though.

Strange thing - I've a lot of paragon chests, but training Forensics I noticed some seemed not to give skill gains. All have been opened and emptied, and are now part of a 'wall of storage' in my house. Sure enough, if I use a training crystal ball or the skill tutor, not all chests give a 'difficulty' message, and the ones that do not are the ones I never gained from.....

Made GM on the 'working' ones, but it does seem there are two types out there! Is it the case that those opened by magery don't count as 'unlocked'? Or is it something else entirely?

It's possible the ones unlocked by magery are too low to gain from, because, I forget, but I think a 120 mage can only unlock maybe LVL 1, 2, and possibly 3, not sure on 3. But I don't know. I stopped at 98 before I passed out, and I did all my post-41 on one paragon chest, which had to be picked by a lockpicker due to the difficulty.

7:20 -> 8:23 (1 hr) ... 98-99.8 [+1.8]

8:23 -> 8:30 (7 mins) ... 99.8-100 [+0.2]

total 6:37 hrs

Just run around killing everything that is quick and easy to kill. You want quantity, not quality.

As far as I can tell, getting a list of the various NPCs is useless: the NPCs respawn together with the items.

Just run around killing everything that is quick and easy to kill. You want quantity, not quality.

I used Sheep purely because I knew the wool would come in handy and the meat will be used to help train my chef.
