[Fishing] Charybdis

Finally I've done Charybdis with a friend.

Ok here is some details:

1) when it appears it cause a huge damage to the fisherman so it will surely die.

2) the tentacles will stay around your boat always and they will also cast spells on the crew, damage the boat and (if you go near) they will cause little continuous damage.

3) he can cast a powerfull wave of water that push your ship around and damage your boat. When the wave is hitting your boat you can't move it.

4) is immune to any bard ability

5) it has no slayer vulnerability.

6) when he die, the fisherman always get a reward and all the crew will be informed of it (even if he did nothing in the battle). In this fight the fisherman receive a piece of virtuous regeneration armor (NOT the same that you get from blackrock golems). The golem ones uses to have Mana Burst, this one has Healing Burst!

7) in the loot you'll find:
- about 2k
- 3-4 magical items
- a lot of fish meat of many kind of rare fish and lobsters (probably this is the true reward).

8) when he die all the tentacles die with him.

9) frost cannon balls will help a lot, unfortunatly I don't have enough to spare for this battle.

10) after he die, you must wait several hours (7 hours) before challenge him again and the oracle is unable to locate him.
NOTE: only 1 charybdis per shard can be challenged every 7 hours indipendently from the map and the team who challenged it.

More than disappointed by the drops. The epiphany armor isnt worth a darn unless the devs. drop the mage armor property weight.

It is not the same epiphany armor from golems. This one have Healing Burst instead of Mana Burst.

Awesome Pinco!! any idea on the numbers of the fish steaks and crab/lobsters you all got as loot? maybe better to kill this once the oracle is obtained rather then the boring crabbing we do now!!!

well, I got this ones from the loot:

- 3 Blue lobster meat
- 2 Stone crab meat
- 2 Spider crab meat
- 6 Yellowtail barracuda steak
- 4 Lava fish steak
- 4 Fire fish steak
- 4 Fairy salmon steak
- 3 Crystal fish steak
- 2 Unicorn fish steak
- 2 Great barracuda steak
- 2 Reaper fish steak
- 2 Bull fish steak
- 1 Holy mackerel steak
- 1 Summer dragonfish steak

This is a boss for the fishing lovers, so if you do the quests just for the spyglass you are in the wrong way... in fact the boss will drop lot of fish steaks for the new pies

I've tested the Healing Burst, same of Mana burst.
Mana Burst will give you some mana on getting hit from spells. Healing burst do the same with the HP that could be very useful
I'm just unsure if is only triggered by spells or also by weapon damage.

Did you do this on a production shard? And if so, does the Spyglass have "uses" or is that permanent and it's the bait that limits how many times you can summon him?

I noticed once your boat was scuttled he wasn't using the Wave attack, was that coincidental or he actually stops using it?

I also saw you firing cannon but couldn't see the damage range; you may have been missing him though, but what sort of damage does Ice Shot do, and what would a normal one do? Did you try cannonballs and grapeshot?

You time lapsed the fight, how long did it take you to do as a duo?

I'm a little annoyed they put yet another boat-wrecking event in to be honest, not everything has to be a gold sink! But it looks like a normal fishing character could survive quite well there, past the initial death anyway! So I'm kind of relieved as well I can be useful after bringing the beast up!

The spyglass burns 1 use a location.

The wave seems to be able to push the boat when done from distant, however I have to do it more times before being sure....

I didn't used cannons in this video, too expensive. And I've never used a cold cannonball that is really too rare to be wasted here.

The fight took 30 minutes (is written in the video details).

The fisherman can barely survive, unless you don't have enough magic skill to keep you alive or rigenerate the continuous damage from the tentacles.

Well, I am still going to try to get a spyglass even if I am not 100% on the loot.

I'd like one too, if only to offer free fishing services to the people of Europa so they can partake of the new content... with the odds as they are though, methinks they'd have to bring their own bait! And worse, then we'd all sit around with nothing but bait and tell each other tall stories of how much bigger the spyglass we nearly caught was than everyone else's...

the bait is very important...
first time charybdis is come with 1 use, second time after 10 uses. So start to stock pile at least 15 uses to summon 1

Oracle of the Seas: This reward looks like a blue spyglass and is used to find charybdis. Double click it to locate the monster. The monster location is good for 1 day. Locating the monster consumes a charge, fish oil can be used to bring the charges back.

Charybdis bait: Can be used on a fishing pole. When at a location identified by the Oracle of the Seas, fish using charybdis bait to start the encounter. You may have to fish several times to get the charybdis to rise.
