He never said it was an auction. Only in the last couple years have people on this forum become auction crazy. UO's history has been primarily in the "Make me an offer" format. The offer the seller liked was the one he sold it for.

If you don't like or trust a person's sales format, don't participate.

Personally, I prefer to just throw 99% of my stuff for sale on vendors or I just icq 3-4 collecting friends that I think may be interested.
