Cancel Account

So, how do you Cancel an account on the new system? I've linked my 4 UO accounts to my Master Mythic account, and i can see the status of all 4 accounts, but nowhere do i see an option to "Cancel Account". I try to go into "Billing", and it says...
"All billing information is now protected by EA under this profile.

Billing information can be updated by selecting the UPDATE RENEWAL or SUBSCRIBE buttons located under each game account.

You can access the list of game accounts at any time by selecting the SUBSCRIPTIONS tab."

So i hit the "Subscribe" button, and it wants me to put in my credit card information again. Now i'm wondering if it's gonna charge me as soon as i put it in, even though the accounts are already paid for until the 1st. I get through putting in the CC info, and it says...
"By making your subscription purchase today and by clicking CONFIRM, you authorize EA to automatically charge the then-current renewal subscription fee (plus any applicable taxes) to your credit or debit card without any additional action by you prior to the expiration of your product subscription. Your subscription will continue to automatically renew until canceled. You may cancel the automatic renewal service at any time by contacting customer support. To cancel your subscription, visit the account subscription main page and then click the "Cancel Subscription" button next to the appropriate product account."
So i look back to the subscription main page, and there is absolutely no "Cancel Subscription" option anywhere.

There is only a cancel subscription button after you used the Subscription button. If you don't have a subscrition you don't have the cancel it do you? :)

Hmmm. So I have one active account, which same as OP doesnt have a cancel option. Does that therefore mean that when the gametime runs out it wont be automatically renewed (as it always was pre migration) and that it will in effect auto cancel at the end of the current billing cycle?

Good. That'll save me having to jump through hoops to cancel it. They can kiss my subscription goodbye and kiss my a$$ whilst theyre at it.

Like i said, i hit the Subscription button, and it asks me to put CC info in, absolutely nothing about Cancel Subscription.

2 of my accounts say "Ultima Online: 14 Day Gametime" and "Start Date: 8/22/11" and "End Date: 9/5/11", along with "Method: NA" and "Amount: NA".

Another of the accounts says "Ultima Online: 1 Month Subscription" and "Start Date: 3/31/11" and "End Date: 9/1/11", along with "Method: N/A" and "Amount: N/A".
The "Method: NA" and "Amount: N/A" makes it sound like the accounts will auto close at the end of the cycle, but i want to be sure.

Did you accept the Subscription? Or did you only look what happend if you hit subscription button? If not its going to end at the date it shows.

I took a look and put in the CC info, but once it said it was gonna immediately charge me if i hit "Confirm", i canceled the process.

Which is not good. There will probably be thousands of UO players out there who are unaware that they "dont have a subscription", although they think they have and are happily playing away. Once their paid time runs out they will have to run the gauntlet of the new account management system and try to get it up and running again. Many will probably just give up.

Strange, but what I read does NOT say that it will automatically charge when you click it.

by clicking CONFIRM, you authorize EA to automatically charge the then-current renewal subscription fee (plus any applicable taxes) to your credit or debit card without any additional action by you prior to the expiration of your product subscription.
Unless your account is actually in the usual period of the week before renewal (that they've ALWAYS wanted the valid CC/DC info in the system, so that the renewal goes through by the day it's due), all you do by clicking "CONFIRM" is tell them that they have permission to renew the account using that payment info, WHEN PAYMENT BECOMES DUE.

MY own experiences with the system shows that it DOES NOT CHARGE if your accounts are weeks or months from renewal, other than the usual $1 hold they put on accounts to make sure the card is valid (that never actually is paid, and goes away in a couple days; it's standard practice with MANY scheduled payment systems prior to their first payment).

In fact, I did it TWICE, without being charged, for two of my 3 accounts. Two of the accounts mysteriously had their remaining 6 & 10 weeks remaining on my last payment replaced by 90 day GTC started on 8/22, and I had to go back and AGAIN set them up on subscriptions. NEITHER the original nor the redo after the free time I was suddenly given, resulted in a charge.

I highly doubt that.

I think that the thousands of happy players that you just referenced will simply figure out the new billing system and keep happily playing.

I also think that a dozen or so misguided drama queens suffering from ADD may freak out and once AGAIN publicly declare that they are quitting.
Never understood why these people always seem to feel the need to quit on these boards though. Its kinda funny. Especially when you see the same people publicly quitting over & over.

I dont know the actual mechanics of quitting as I have never tried it but I am pretty sure that you cant officially close your account and quit on these boards. Maybe thats why these people keep playing/quitting. They are and have always been confused about where you go to quit.

I personally dont like to see anyone quit but since so many people seem confused about how to do it I think I will take 30 seconds out of my busy day today and officially find out how it is done.
That way anyone wishing to actually quit can just PM me for instructions.
This should help them out tremendously by letting them avoid the embarrassment of publicy quitting in the wrong spot. Over & over!

Maybe one or two of them will even let me keep their stuff...

This is exactly what I was talking about.

In the future please just PM me for instructions on how to actually quit.
I will first vehemently try to talk you into staying but if you really are serious about quitting and not just a public drama queen I will give you proper instruction. I will take time out of my busy day to do this service for you so that you are not embarrassed by quitting on the wrong website.

How to cancel an individual account ? I know one way: Remove the billing information before the subscription expirey date. :)

QUESTION:
My questions are:

1) Are payments auotmatically charged to the provided credit card on the billing information for the next payment, when each of your subscriptions come due?

2) Do we have to keep track of when each account subscripion ends and log-in each month or each 3 months or each 6 months to renew our subscriptions?

IF SO:

3) Do they notify us a week or so in advance of when subscriptions are expiring and need to be renewed on our various accounts?

4) How do you cancel an individual account? ( see above :)


The ins-and-outs of how this new accounting system works is proving to be a concern.. so will get busy reading all the messages in here and in the future.

Hmm.. another and another question keeps coming: Do all the accounts that we link to Mythic all at once, suddenly forget their original Payment Due Dates and start a NEW DUE DATE even if the old subscription already paid for in advance of the move, hasn't expired. Like a Six month payment on an account made back in July, is suddenly transferred to a new Account Management system and the billing information for that NEW account is submitted starting on a certain day near the end of August. Does that mean you lose the six months you paid for before the migration?
EEEK.. mind boggling! Questions questions questions ..
