So the people who have posted that they were banned from the site are just making things up? Are you seriously expecting people take your imagination over the experiences of others? And by the way, those posts about being banned are in multiple threads by multiple people.

in this thread there is only one person claiming they were ip banned from the site, and that was after opening a 7th account. And I'm not using some childish imagination bs to make my assesments. If you use common sense you will agree that banning people for playing and paying for the game is utterly bs. Afk I'm saying is that if it were me, I would not be concerned with this.

What you need to do is just make the second account. No way they are going to ban you. Idk where this info came from but its just not sensible. Thid is the point I've ben arguing this whole thread. Make a second account with new email. Buy gametime instead of direct payment if you worry they will make a big deal about the same cc numbers. The idea that you will get banned is just an idiotic scare that the op is mistakenly leading purple to believe.
The third sentence of the second paragraph of Section 9 of the Terms of Service reads as follows: "If you have more than one (1) Account, EA may terminate all of your Accounts and all related Entitlements."

However, the two sentences before it read as follows: "EA may also terminate your Account(s) (and access to all related Entitlements) for violation of this Terms of Service, illegal or improper use of your Account, or illegal or improper use of EA Services, Content, Entitlement, products, or EA's Intellectual Property as determined by EA in its sole discretion. You may lose your user name and persona as a result of Account termination."

The word "Account" is defined earlier in the ToS as an EA Account and may also be known as an Origin Account.

So, is the ToS trying to say that EA may terminate any and all of your Accounts if you screw up by violating the ToS, illegally or improperly using your Account or their services, content, entitlement, blah blah blah

OR

Do they actually mean setting up an additional EA Account will lead to termination of all your EA Accounts?

With regard to the IP blocking in the accounting system after setting up additional EA Accounts, see these posts made by S.P.A. and Luna [MoD] over the last few days:

http://vboards.stratics.com/1999959-post240.html
http://vboards.stratics.com/2003098-post392.html

Also, see Lady Storm's post above where she indicates she was told you'll be banned if you set up another EA Account.

I've also brought up this very issue in the messages I've been leaving for a Tier 3 customer support person who's trying to help me with the nine-account limitation. His last reply today was that there are no answers yet and he'll let me know when they have more information.

Hail Sosarians,

I fail to comprehend why EA does not simply restore the original Account Management Server and Software, and Turn OFF the Mismanagement Account Server and Software until they resolve all these absurd limitations, bugs, and problems.

I have been unable to access subscription, billing, password, and email address on ANY of my accounts since this Migraine, er I mean Migration Mess began.

So currently I am unable to activate, deactivate, or take any other actions on ANY of my Accounts. I have multiple Incident reports being worked on. I have spent almost 24 total hours on the phone over several days and calls to Customer Support with no issues yet resolved.

And I have received 7 emails so far informing me that 7 accounts are having subscriptions ENDED due to No Billing Information existing on these Accounts. This, even though all 7 are on recurring credit card billing subscriptions.

How or why would any sane person NOT be worried by these events???

So far, I am able to log onto all my accounts, however, I suspect this may be due to EA turning off billing functions during this mess.

But this is a great deal of stress that was unneccessary, unwelcome, and uncalled for.

I am remaining as patient and calm as I am able, but this is a Monumental MESS!!!

You are mis-stating what I reported.

I tried to turn each of my 10 UO accounts, each of which are registered on a separate email address, into 10 EA accounts. When I got to account 7, I was IP banned from the account management website.

I never tried to create multiple EA accounts with the same email address, and it is completely impossible to do.
I don't understand what you mean by this.

It's clear you DID NOT create 7 master accounts using 1 email as that is not possible, but did you create 7 master accounts with one linked account each using 7 different email addresses?

Is that what you mean?

Or did you log in to your account by just putting _uo at the end of your current account name?

What is it that you did 7 times to get an IP ban?

Did you get the ban reversed yet and if so how?

Did anyone explain to you why it happened?

none of my business, but what's the issue with steam? For those that choose to use whatever that is, and plan to stay, it'd be nice to be forewarned, know what I mean?

As Tina Small and others have experienced with the TOS... means they'll Finally update it? Cal has been quoted as saying it needs to be updated to reflect certain things - maybe a definitive statement on RMT's will be included.

The EA rep working on my 9-account-limit issue also posted something similar on my case earlier this morning:

At this time it seems our database will only allow 9 accounts to be linked to one EA account. Our team has asked that you just create a new EA account and continue to link accounts in this way. They are still trying to find a more permanent solution for this issue and will keep everyone updated.

These are additional questions I will submit now with regard to this option and see if he is able to provide responses for them:

* Is there any risk that I will end up being IP banned for having more than one EA Account? I don't plan on associating each as-yet-unlinked UO account with its own unique e-mail address, but others would like to do this and at least one person reported on Stratics that he was IP banned when he reached the point of setting up his seventh EA Account to link to his seventh UO account and another person also reported a similar banning but without indicating how many EA Accounts she established before being IP banned.

* In the future, if I would like to purchase an account upgrade from the Origin store or additional EA games or perhaps use the Origin forum, which EA Account should I use for that purpose? Will using any EA Account other than my very first one as an "Origin Account" cause me problems in the future?

* If I would like to change the EA Account I have associated with any particular UO account to a different EA Account (either a freshly created one or one that already exists but hasn't yet reached its limit of nine linked accounts), will I be able to make that change and if yes, will there be a cost to me for making the change? It seems like such a change would be similar in many respects to the old Account Access Transfer service that cost $30; wiped the old billing info from the account; cleared warning and misconduct information from the account; and required the active participation of both parties in the transaction for completing and submitting the transfer form to EA.

I'm probably not going to proceed with establishing any more EA Accounts until I get a response to these questions.

Yes, each using the unique email address I have for each of the separate 10 UO accounts I have.

Or did you log in to your account by just putting _uo at the end of your current account name?
No. That "Master Mythic Account" method came to light a few days later.

What is it that you did 7 times to get an IP ban?
The message said it was because I was performing a suspicious activity.

What I was actually doing was logging into and out of successive EA accounts from the same IP address as I created them and linked them to my UO accounts. How is that suspicious?

If I had to guess, they have some check in their software that if you log into and out of (or try to log in to) sufficient accounts from the same IP address within a certain timeframe, it flags as someone using a "brute force cracker" to identify account names / passwords and then trips an IP ban.

Did you get the ban reversed yet and if so how?
No. I got my ISP to change my IP address.

Did anyone explain to you why it happened?
No.

They had problems with the Star Wars: The Old Republic migration to Origin.com back in July. They didn't stop the migration, and in fact, after they had problems with Star Wars, a few weeks later they went and migrated three actual MMOs in production all at the same time.

If EA isn't going to stop when its biggest game of the year had problems with the migrations, they aren't going to stop for UO, Camelot, or Warhammer.
I do not see why EA does not put out an official word on what to do. I have patiently waited a week now for them to say something to fix this. I was certain that something would be done. I had faith in the fact they would not want to lose revenue. I fear my faith has been misplaced.
See my bit about Star Wars above. There are SWTOR.com users who had problems with the Origin.com migration, and they haven't heard back any solutions.

I think EA will have to relax the 9 account limit though, a lot of people will be running into it with Star Wars and Kingdoms of Amalur and a few other games, plus when they move Dragon Age II over from Steam as well as Crysis 2.

I have formulated a theory........ its kind of far out there but please listen to this short theory.

This huge plan to consolidate all these games' account information in one location is the first stage towards catching up to Another company's plan to add real currency auction house.
They did recently tell UOForums to no longer allow RMTs to be publicly posted about if they wanted to keep their fansite status, which was rather odd timing.

What I worry about is that EA is hellbent on moving everything over from Steam to Origin.com and ditching Steam, and that they are going to go to some ******** scheme for all of their games where internet connection is always required, even for what should be offline/single-player games, just like Ubisoft. Look at the always-on internet crap with Diablo III. People are pissed and asking why, and just like Ubisoft last year, Activision isn't backing down.

As for RMT, would EA put the scripters out of business though? Those are paying accounts and so far EA has not shown any desire to shut them down, even after many of us have reported on them time and again.

OK got samething form tier 3 rep... must have been all the account owners complaining that got this far. The rep at tier 1 a few days ago spouted differently now the tier 3 refutes him and says its ok. That fixed one of my problems but not the base one.

As for some of you having an issue with my # of accounts.......
lets see if I can cover this so its understandable.

Beta days nephew suckered me into fishing for him while in marines corps training camp.... I liked fishing it was his account. I liked it so much he got me to get one for me to play. (1)

Son watched mom and strated his own. (2)

Early days didnt have drive for multi accounts as could get a house for each character soooo didnt need more then 1 per that was till firends on the many shards started to leave for various reasons. First to go for reasons known and aproved of gave me one ok that makes 3 so far. (3)

I helped a young player with rl issues, those issues were serious and had to give up the account. I took it and fixed all her in game issues as well.(4)

By this time I had houses on 5 shards, and a guild I was part of on Napa gave houses to new players coming into uo... so too did uo give us new game codes so it was easy to make a few houe holder accounts, as Napa on my account was full of my own homes. So added 3 accounts to do this. (5,6,7)

Needed a 4th to help more ppl and 9.99 a month was no biggie and later on a few more houses for me if i needed. (8)

Then came the news a few years later of one house per account per shard... I was up to 12 shards by then and had guilds I was part of and a bank box was not an option. I put homes on the ones free on those shards I could and opend a few more to take on house placement for kids to have. My house is still to this day off limits to my son and nephew... (9,10, 11,12)

Then came the news that got alot of friends very angry... many quit and tossed their accounts at me telling me they were mine... I told them I will hold for 1 year if not back in that time i will assmulate them to mine. Few did return and retrieved their accounts with homes intact, some were perma gone from uo. so there came a few more.
Ty quit gave me 4... (13 -16)
then Jo-paid her for hers, she needed the $ for new house in rl-(14,15)
friend and his 2 sons quit (16-20)

Then the 1 account per shard was changed to 1 per account.... thats great but i wanted one of the new house's.... ok add in a few more... (21,22,)

Firend passed away and gave me 2. (23,24)

Friend moved away and didnt have time for game. (25,26)

Friend's mom found him a wife... moved back to paris. Wife gave him reason to not play. (27,28,29)

Friend left no reason given (30)

We wanted to get home on Lake A at opening.... (31)
Later sold it and moved off shard to Origin.
Where we have 15 single house account homes. (32-47)

Son reciently got invited to Atlantic and vola 3 more homes (48 -50)

3 accounts are permently off - none of your business why... no not banned ether.

Grand total 53 accounts... Why do I keep them? Simple over the years I didnt see the # growing and they were quite developed accounts, some reasons were hopes friends would come back... main riason is I want them now. If you have a bit of trouble with that think of it this way....... I help keep UO open for players like you. No I dont work them like slaves, they are my characters, while I do run a few at the same time its mostly for my family and my use.
If not for a stroke I dont know if id have ever gotten this deep into UO... Satisfied?

I had to stop at 10.

I had one... bought another so son could have a house, friend quit left me 3.... eventually gained another, friend gave me one.. another quit and gave theirs... I started one by accident not intending it to be permanent..... it wound up that way....

I think I have access to a couple three more.... from friends leaving but they are not active..

I only have 8 active... but if I had a spare 500 bucks a month .... Yes I'd have more....

At the time you made your post people were banned. They since changed their policy. How exactly do you call that right? Telling people to just ignore the policy and take the risk before any official word was given that it would be changed can hardly be called helpful. Furthermore, your first post denied that anyone was in fact banned. That was you using your imagination, and you were wrong.

Molinaro, it's only common sense sir. Also as I stated before... In thid thread there was only one person stating they had been banned and this was from the website, not the game. Furthermore only after making 7 different accounts with different emails on the same ip. Ti me this sounded more like a security measure of the site, and was not done for disciplinary reasons. I never said no one had been banned.

wow, I have 10 active accts to uo for the storage all under same email. I guess I am glad I can not get into the ea master list to look at my accts since I could only effectably view 9? even tho all 10 are under same email. So can someone tell me why I have to "Link" my accts to a email inclusive system? this is easier for whom? The hacker, so when he gets a hold of you he can really shake hard? Please lets stand back and make this a usable non-risk thing. From where I am standing this idea is destined for some kind of failure. Please have a dev stand up and say now you are doing this wrong and fix it.I can understand making stuff easier for acct purposes. But to simplfy it to the point of losing our identity, our acct page is terrible. As it did stand you had to hack 10 seperate accts to rob me blind. Now with one email address and some effort I can lose it all much easier. And did I mention the ea page will not reset passwords it sends a unclickable link that when typed out feeds back to itself? And of course I can not start a new acct I tryed 6 times, other than it saying write the glyph on top its case sesnsitive I am getting no other message to guide me to getting a acct. So this is what we got and it is not right it needs to be fixed. Why should I click my uo acct button on uo.com and it send me to a dif sight with totally dif passwords and links? Please put the simple back into acct management before we lose players from bad billing info they can not fix thx.

Google spreadsheet for me, with a local copy saved on my main computer.

And not only am I tracking my UO accounts, but also any accounts that are or will be tied to Origin.com, including my Camelot and Warhammer accounts.

I assume they will lift the 9 account limit, but if they don't, then I'll have a Mythic MMO Origin.com account with UO, Camelot, and Warhammer, and then I'll have another account with my Star Wars pre-order, BF3 when it launches, Dragon Age II when I get the email to migrate it, and next year Kingdoms of Amalur, Dragon Age III, etc.

At this point, EA might as well just sell itself to Activision Blizzard. They're trying to emulate all the best services out there, but they don't have the competence to put this kind of service into place.

I can't wait to see how this plays out... anyone with more than 9 accounts that they need associated with EA's system is going to have one hell of a nightmare. Personally, I can't wait to figure out which one or the other of my accounts may have failed the billing processs due to dates and times and all that jazz...

Which brings up the next interesting question: Are all of my accounts going to have to maintain the same billing date, or will they all have different billing dates, associated to the one email address/credit card number? And how the bloody hell will I sift in and out of the accounts to determine what happened to what, when, and where?

I'm still not messing with this garbage until I start reading that the interface is functional as a reasonable customer would expect. Until then, if my accounts all go offline and my properties eventually fall, well, hey, I'll look at it as a bonus to my pocketbook.

Great job, EA... nothing like showing how completely unaware you are of your customer needs, yet again.

I am wondering as the UOHearld said that they will start to bill asap on accounts on rotating billing.
They said they were keeping all accounts in limbo... now I know some people should have turned on their accounts during this time they have been fiddling with this migration... even though we got the "back to brit" time and they said 99% were kept static.... will the minute they pop back in full will we have a run on houses going poof cause they should have been turned on and couldnt ?
Also something occured to mind..... with this new billing do we still have the 90day grace??
if so does that hold they put give us the 90 days when billing comes back? I am getting confused by what they are telling us..

I have the same problem like the most people here.
I reactivated my EA Master Account at the Day were i read here that the migration is nearly complete and that we can use the new Management.
I saw at the list all my UO Accounts i ever had used with this E-Mail and added all to the Master Account.
9 accounts are added and 2 had an error and i could not add more accounts.
Ok i reactivated my second EA Master account from my Warhammer Online because some accounts are on this Mail and saw all my UO Accounts in the list.
After adding my UO accounts to link them i got the Message that my IP was banned and i have to call (not the exactly text but we have enough screenshots here).
Since this day i cant login on the Account site with one of my both Master account because my ip is banned and get everytime the message:
Error
There was an error processing your request

Return to the homepage.

I used the chat at wednesday because i cant speak or understand spoken english at Phone and explained to the Guy what my problem is.
After 3 Times of explaining he understand what i want and redirectet me to a second lvl tier.
He understood my problem and i asked him to unlink of my UO Accounts from both Master accounts to put my 5 active accounts on one Master account and told him that they have to unban my IP (i think my provider change only all 2 - 4 weeks my ip).
He told me that he will send this per Mail to Mythic and that they will Contact me.
I never got any Mail that my IP is banned , or that my Master accounts are banned or that they work on my problem.
Absolutely nothing.
The same here in the Forum were i wrote in another tread my problem.
Both Ea Master accounts are still banned (or IP only but i cant test this).
My provider dont change IPs manually and i dont know when my IP is changing.
I still cant access the Account Management for my UO accounts because my IP or the Master accounts are banned.
I still dont have any info if they work on my problem or what i can do to get the access back.
This sucks.
I never saw so much crap in over 12 Years UO.
So much trouble only for an facebook generation kiddie at EA who had this stupid idea with the Account migration.

Some Cable providers have a way to change your IP manually. You disconect from the router and cable line for a few hours it resets as many have rotating IP's. You can contact your internet provider and ask if this would work for you.

It's a bit scary that a corporation the size of Electronic Arts doesn't have someone in their IT department who can provide them with one very well known fact about the internet:

IP address banning is generally* worthless and does not work.

They're going to overshoot this whole thing if they're using IP addresses as an identifier, particularly since a majority of internet providers use a bank of IP addresses. Very few home users have a static IP address.

* The only use I've ever seen IP banning work for is when you block say a block of IP addresses from Denmark that are being used as part of a DoS attack and you're not all that concerned about losing customers from Denmark to your site.

Yea it can get that way hehe. Right now they are not all on at one time unless its a holliday or special time when I need to do shifts in homes. I try to rotate on /off times so its easy for me and budget. Before my son and I bought a new car they were all on 24/7 Insurance payments on a new car are very expencive sooo uo took a hit.
With that kind of money you could join a country club or buy a vacation house or something.

Thats crazy.

I have 2 accounts and I think that I spend too much $$ already on this poorly coded game.

Its not that I can't afford it - but that its a waste of money.

You're talking about a company that had problems with the SWTOR.com -> Origin.com migration back in July.

And thought it was a good idea to go ahead and migrate UO, Camelot, and Warhammer a few weeks later.

Of course I've always thought the IP ban stuff was just to scare off the non-tech types.

Yeah... I know...

Trouble is too that when they do silly things like IP bans and someone manages to cycle in onto a dynamic IP address that someone else was banned on (presuming that they aren't dumb enough to do a masked ban, which would be horrifically stupid idea on their part), they then wonder what they've done to be banned for in the first place.
