Looking for advice.

I'm looking for advice in the one place that I think people actually listen to anyone. That being Stratics forums. I will try to make this as short as possible. My greatest hopes is that a forum moderater or heck, I may win the "forum lotto" and either Cal or Messana will see this post.

Basically, I failed to see the update where I was told not to use the upgrade codes just yet. Had I seen that message I would not have used it. I purchased the Grand Bazaar Pack and plugged the code in right away. Well... I recieved the raised garden bed, and the chest of sending. But I went to place a vendor at the New Magincia plots and I saw a message telling me that I needed to upgrade to the Gothic and Rustic theme pack to use this option. Which is where I am today.

So, basically, I used the code, because I didn't see the "warning" not to use it yet. I called EA phone support, and they told me I needed to contact an in-game GM to help me, they told me that the website was down and to wait 48 hours. Well... I waited and nothing. I sent an e-mail to EA and this was their response:


Greetings,

We are contacting you in regards to your GM petition number 7744700.

DO NOT yet redeem your gametime codes. We are aware of issues pertaining to this and are working on a solution. At this time we cannot offer any estimated time for a fix and ask that you bear with us. However, if you feel that you have additional information please submit a bug report at Untitled Document. Please refer to the patch message or Mythic Entertainment | Ultima Online | Play the 14-Day Free Trial! for information regarding any future changes to UO.

Thank you for your patience while we work to resolve this issue.

Well... I saw other posts like this one: http://vboards.stratics.com/uhall/248930-you-offically-lost-customer.html and I'm not ready to walk away from Ultima Online yet. But I would like to ask the Stratics forums, what do you think I should I do now? My problem is I already used the codes. I did not see the warning in time. So, what should I do? Wait for a while longer...however long that may be? Or is there some priority cube I can be placed in?

I've never had any real problems being a paying customer to Ultima Online. But it feels like I'm being ignored and being given the run-around. :rant2: Please, what should I do?

Ok couple of things here. Only thing I can suggest is that you contact customer at support.ea.com.

Also while we do get traffic from the Staff at various game companies Devs for UO included Stratics is not and does not have any "official" say. So while we will give opinions and try and help we really can't "do" anything.

had same issue as yourself not a big deal when the account info server is up and running be sure to add your ugrade code to that account upgrade it will then take affect as it should need to do code in game for the items out of game for the xpack to take affect.

When we're told it's safe to do so, you will also need to apply the same code you used ingame to your account via the new account system. I didn't see in your post that you did this (or attempted it) so this is why some parts of the pack are not working for you.

Think of the 'code' you paid for and received as actually being two seperate codes - you have used the in-game part, which gave you the items, but not the 'account page' piece which enables parts of the game for your account ... your timing is unlucky, since the current accounts mess means you can't apply that aspect of the code right now, but the overall code has not been 'used up', it's just a case of waiting while they sort out the current mess, and then using it on the accounts page.

I actually did apply the code both in game and on the website. From all the advice everyone has given me, it sounds like I just need to wait. Most of you seem to think it was just bad timing on my part, so I'll go with that.

Out of curiosity, where do ya'll think I'll see that "ok to apply codes" message when it's time? Front page of stratics or maybe at the top of the patch messages when I log into UO?

I did the same thing. I have a deed for a raised garden....can't use it yet. So, it'll either work, when they get this mess hammered out, or, no big deal......I'll spend another ten bucks.....it's ten bucks I would have spent on some other pointless garbage.....then I'll have 2 gardens too!

True, true. I'm not so angry as others get. But if possible I would like to get what I paid for is all. On another note I have two accounts, my main account I try to keep up to speed and have all the most recent booster packs and such at all times. My secondary account just is kinda there to hold a house spot. That one I have many updates, expansions and such that I would have to spend money on if I ever wanted it to be fully current. Not really worried about it, just thought I'd mention it.

But for now... I'll try to wait it out. I'll toss this "out there" though to the listening Stratics audience... if any kind sole notices a Ultima Online announcement before I do.. er whatever... could you ever so kindly PM me and simply say something like: "Hey, it should be safe for you to enter your code now" . That would be swell. :thumbup1:
