It is not uncommon to find the cavern empty. I think many players drops things of the floor instead of using the thrash box, mostly because someone else could find a use for things one considers garbage.

And i meen filled every spot theres a book....

i just put about 60k scrolls worth of mystic spellbooks in the trash.
im on pac, dunno.

From my experience on LS, it's really hit or miss. Some days nothing, some days you get a ton of one item (from someone grinding out a skill), some days you get a mix of stuff.

Napa had the Cavern full last night of spell books all over everywhere, must of been 100+ at least. No name, just Exceptional. So cavern's working as intended

I always feel that the 20% of items that land there from trash bins is a little low. But then that might be, because I live on a low population shard.

maybe....but almost everytime before i was down there i would at least BOD or pieces of Blackrock

The Legends Cavern has been bare the past week as well. I also noticed that since the Terathan/Blackrock Stew recipe update was published, there is no longer hundreds of blackrock pieces littering Cavern floor. Blackrocjk actually has an use again!

Aye - the blackrock Stew recipes are eaisly available again by doing the Ophidian Cook Loyalty quest. You need 5K Loyalty which is gained by killing approx 550 Terathans (9 points apiece - even drones). The stew componenets are: 1 pc blackrock and 1 bowl of rotworm stew.

Could someone clear up for me a possible misconception of mine?

I swore the Cavern of Discarded not only got items from trash cans but items that decayed from the ground. Some of my best finds have been stuff that seemed like it came from an undiscovered idoc. Or at least I could not imagine someone throwing out some of the things I found. Also the amount of bods and sturdy shovels and picks seemed like they were coming from decay dropped at the blacksmith shops.

Should only be from trash barrels in houses and trash chests in towns.

The Cavern really does lend credence to the adage that "one's trash is another's treasure" considering what you CAN find down there at times.
