Reflect Physical Damage Suit

I recently ran into a sampire running 75 reflect physical on their suit instead of 40 LMC. Has anyone else here ever done this? How effective is it?

If your question is running reflect physical instead of lower mana cost on a sampire, I don't think there's anyway that can be worth it.

I have 2 suits for my ninja/fencer with at least 90 reflect, and still manage to keep 40 LMC. They're each built around the helm of vengeance and spirit of the totem, so no mace & shield glasses with lower attack on either. Also I'm sacrificing a bit of stamina (at 130 total), so that requires me to use a faster/lighter weapon (kryss) to swing at max rate.

Reflect does good damage in some situations, but I find I would be giving up too much to consider it a viable sampire mod. You can work it into a suit, but don't do it at the expense of LMC.

Yes - the individual I was talking to was using 15 RPD on his 5 pieces of armor INSTEAAD of the 7-8 LMC most sampires use. In response to why they did this they just responded that "Stuff dies fast" and "they never have mana issues". They couldn't offer any specifics such as how much dmg RPD is actually doing and in what situations it is most beneficial, so I was wondering if anyone here could offer some insight.

This seems counter-intuitive as pretty much everyone goes for 45 DCI in order to be hit less often. I am curious, though; does 20% life leech happen when something gets hit by reflected damage? That would make it a somewhat interesting choice.

True, that's why the best use for RPD is probably just for some surprise damage in PVP.

No, just tried it and it does not. It doesn't leech, nor does it reduce damage.

OK, just tried a suit with 95% RPD on my sampire against a Hiryu. Since the amount of damage you reflect is equal to the RPD percent on your armor, the Hiryu's hits did as much damage to it as it did to me (2 hits for 91 damage).

That's a nice damage boost, but not worth waiting around to get hit for. If you can work it into your suit, fine; just don't sacrifice something as important as LMC for it.

I really can't see it being too beneficial other than occasionally in PVP, where you could take a chance on dropping DCI or physical resistance in the hope that your opponent gets a good physical hit on you that you can recover from but he can't.

Maybe also in PVM against lower level mobs swarming you if you couldn't already momentum strike or whirlwind them, but the novelty of monsters killing themselves by hitting you wears off quickly.

As I said earlier, I use it on my lighter-hitting ninja where the damage does help. And since he doesn't use bushido, he can carry a shield for additional RPD% (he's maxed out at 105% normally). On the sampire, I still think it's not worth giving up a key stat like LMC. Try it for yourself though.

Probably the best use for RPD would be for the devs to work it onto some monsters; could make things interesting.

I have a 90 RPD suit on a pvp guy which works fairly well but this suit was built for fighting people. For a sampire I could never see the benifit of wasting mods on such a suit. I would suspect that for higher end mobs there would be no point and I would bet that this person does not have a temp built around AIing etc.

The one thing that you have to make sure for a pvp RPD suit is your physical is 59 or lower or its a complete waste of time building.

I just wanted to add that these same people I am seeing with this suit also sport 2HPR on each piece of woodland gear. They sit at about 14 HPR with it on 5 pieces and conjur/crimson.

Just my opinion again, but I find having even max HPR helps only with fighting low level monsters or passively getting back to full health after dying. It's not really a helpful stat for a sampire, although some have it merely as a side effect from enhancing with bloodwood to get to 95 fire resistance; most are probably not using bloodwood strictly for the HPR.

My pvp suit is blood wood also but it adds limited benifit even with a high level regen rate. Simply put it might add a few hp's while I am on the run but I'm just waiting for a bandage to kick in.
