I sat in the spectators section quietly as others filed in and found their seats, awaiting the long awaited trial of Kendrick Morrow, the accused Magiacian. More then expected showed for the trial and was surprised by the interest that surrounded this case. Nine (9) jurors were selcected to judge the accused, selected by Commander Foxx, Judge and Prosecuter.

The trial started off with only 4 witnesses stating their case and the prosecution was preparing for the jury's verdict. After approximately 2 hours, the jurors retired to the deliberation room to come up with the final verdict of Guilty or Not Guilty. A half hour went by and the jurors returned to the jurors box. The jury's foreman was called forward to give the decision of the 9 jurors. 7 of the 9 jurors found Kendrick Morrow "Not Guily". This put the audience into a state of shock. Some were for the Accused being innocent, others yelled guilty!!. The court house was abuzz with heavy discussions about the trial and alot of Boo's.

The jurors were excused from their appointment and most left without saying a word, not discussing the case or the verdict. The jurors were both praised at their decsion and boo'd for their decision.

I watched as the jurors departed, hoping to get an interview with one of them. I noticed that there was one juror who had a very concerned look on his face as he exited the court house doors. I followed him out of the court house as he began walking down the streets of Trinsic. I finally caught up with him and asked if he was ok. He said "No". "Can I ask you your name sir". He replied by saying his name was Zanku, Mayor of Nidaros. "Well, aren't you happy that you sent an accused man free?" I asked. "Well, you saw how the spectators responded when the verdict came down that we had voted fairly that Kendrick Morrow was innocent?". "Yes", I replied. " Well, I just received word that the Nidaros Townhall & Tavern was attacked by angery spectators who were at the trial and that threats for my life and possibly the lives of the other jurors were heard being yelled around the town". He said looking directly at me. "I was warned that if I show my face or attempt to return to the TownHall, I would be dealt with in a very un-fashionable way". "So you see, even though we could only go on the evidence presented at the trial, finding Morrow Not Guilty has put lives at stake."

I watched as he hung his head low, as if looking for something on the ground. " For the time being, I must find refuge until I can figure out how to deal with this. All I know is that I can not return to the Townhall at this time and that saddens me". I watched as Zanku looked over his shoulder and around the immediate area, as if expecting someone. Who knew that some of the spectators at the trial fealt this unhappy about the verdict that was passed down.

"Where will you go?" I asked. " To a friends house for now and that disclosure is not for publication", he said in a stern voice. "any idea who might be involved with this act?" I asked. "I have my suspicions", zanku replied. On saying that, Zanku zipped around the corner and was gone before I could ask him any more questions. This I must follow up on. Lives are in danger as well as the residence of a town.

Following this story on Zanku and the other Jurors the next day, I received word that an Emissary of Nidaros, Judge, attended the Paxlair meeting to represent Mayor Zanku and his innocence. Judge was instructed to forward a message to Mayor Zanku, from the PaxLair Statehood Govenor, Winfield, that Zanku was to be considered for examination to prove sanity. It was being considered wether or not 'Bribery' was involved and wether or not Zanku and the other Jurors in some way had any "Benefits" coming by claiming Morrow was innocent. Zanku was instructed to go to the Shrine of Honesty with an escort. There he was to meditate and record thoughts on the case. He was then instructed to report these thoughts in written form to the Govenor in one week.

What is to become of this? Is the Mayoral seat of Nidaros on the line? Will he and others ever be able to return to the peaceful settlement of Nidaros? Was the "Not Guilty" verdict of Kendrick Morrow fealt in such a way as to terrorize a town or towns and threaten Lives of those peers that sent an accused crimmanal free. This is a story I will definately follow up on in order to let the public know of its outcome and wether Zanku will have the courage to show his face around Sosaria.

Stay toon'd and comments are welcomed on this recent trial of the year and its after effects.

From the desk of Elijah Cross [Official Statement]:

As one of the seven jurors who found Morrow not guilty, I will let no person cause me to alter my day to day business. Nor will I acknowledge any person who may question my mental faculties. There are speculations that the seven of us were in some way "bribed" or "compensated" for our verdict and to that accusation I scoff. It is simple for a person to sit in the audience and have their "opinion" but when you are a juror you do not have the luxury of "opinion". We made our decision based upon facts and witness accounts provided at the trial. That, of course, is the job of the juror. Not to come in and have our own personal bias sway our decision no matter the evidence provided.

In my honest opinion, it seemed to me that most in attendance wanted nothing more than blood, whether it be innocent blood or guilty. Once more, it is quite easy to proclaim judgment when you are not the one held accountable for making a decision that may end another persons life. The job of a juror in such a case is anything but simple and the naysayers would do well to put themselves in our shoes.

I, myself, was born and raised in Trinsic and have known the way of the paladin all of my life. I pride myself on truth and justice. I have not, nor do I ever, take such matters lightly.

As far as the situation with my co-juror, Zanku of Nidaros, if in fact this news report is accurate and the government of PaxLair is in question of his faculties then simple logic tells us all that they hold all seven of us in question, if not contempt. No single person, or government for that matter, that was not on that jury has absolutely no right, in my opinion, to possibly cause irreparable damage to the character of any that made this decision. If this report is accurate and true then I myself am ashamed and appalled at the presumption of the government of the PaxLair Statehood and any who would dare try to intimidate and harass Zanku, or any other member of the jury.

I stand by my decision and if there are those who do not like it or want to accuse me of wrong doing then that is their problem, not mine.

Official Release from Sarberius, "We were to base our decision on the evidence presented and what Kendrick Morrow was accused of affected many townships. For only four people to speak at the trial with little evidence there was not enough proof to find him guilty. As for the outcries and destructive manner of citizens from other townships some wish to be the judge, jury and executioners. It sounds like they need to work on their own judicial system and take care of their own corruption."

It is a sad day when upstanding citizens turn to vigilanites.
Mees was a witness, and truely belive morrow was the ebil majik man behind all the choas.Mees own peepers seeded him change to ebil majik man and kills peoples. He has summoned undead, deamons and other ebil tings. Mees tink himz uses polymorph. But jurors tinks himz not guilty and dat usins system.I tink Balander should have bees der as a witness.
Da evidance was only circm, crins, not every strong.Sure Balander would habe given enough evidance to secure a guilty verdict. Wards should habe been set in place so no one could control minds of juors.Dis beees himz way to get choas started again. So no blames jurors da be human and votes wif deys own hearts. Now time to gather more solid ebidance agin himz, before himz kills more of usins.
Mees skerred for witnesses and jurors who voted guility.mees tinks himz will get revenged agin usins.

I followed Royal Guardsman Sarberius to the city of Moonglow attempting to get a few last minute questions answered I caught up with her just as she walked into the the local Healers building, from what I could tell the back of her neck appeared to be a greyish color with odd bumps which looked like symbols. I waited outside for about three or four hours until I saw the healers door fly off its hinges and Sarberius storming out of the building towards the moongate to the South.

I had a hunch she would be going to the City of Kijustsu Anei Village, I am not one to ignore my hunches. I extracted the rune from my pouch and recalled to the East outer wall of Niva's Hunting Lodge. Thankfully for me the Savages were out preparing for their fall harvest....or slaughter depending how you look at it. I knew I only had a few minutes to get to a good viewing spot so I darted across and hunched down between the Dread Lady Cat clock tower and Sir Charles home. A few moments later I saw Sarberius storming down the Lost Souls Road as I expected, keeping low and close to the building foundations I kept her within view until she swung open the door to the Britannia Mage Tower.

Crossing the road quickly I made my way to the front wall of the Mage Tower, pressing each of the stones attempting to find the secrete passage I saw put in during the Towers construction. Finding the passage I slowly pushed it open just enough to squeeze between and enter. I did not have to go far to overhear the argument happening between Sarberius and Gareth. Every word became filled with more and more anger as they erupted from her mouth, at one point I even became frightened of her words.

As they both raised their voices attempting to dominate the other I could only make out a few words. Sarberius must have shouted "PUMICE?" "PUMICE?" four or five times as I heard a stone smack the floor and skip across the tiles. After that she shouted, "I WILL NO LONGER BE YOUR PAWN IN YOUR PERSONAL VENDETTAS!"

The next thing I saw was something I would have never thought possible, a bracelet type object slammed against the wall only inches from my face. As I watched it fall into the shadows I recognized the markings and knew it was the Lightenburg family crest and as I slowly made my way back through the passage I could hear the satisfied footsteps of Sarberius as she walked out the front door.

I would like to respond to claims over Mayor Zanku's choice of verdict and the recent PaxLair alliance response to it. While Mayor Zanku's sensibilities were called into question, there was no official sanction against him, just advice for him to meditate on his mistake.

Still, there is discontent and those who found Morrow innocent will no doubt be looked upon with question in the months to come. Despite his treatment by Commander Foxx, including his torture at the hands of both the commander and Lord Balandar, he is still considered guilty in the minds of many people. And if the the charges are true, we have a man out there, stripped of title and property, skilled in the the most terrible of magics and probably looking for revenge.

Time will tell who was right in the end.

This is just a quick updated insert to let you know that my curiousity about this case and the following of Mayor Zanku is getting the best of me. Photos are not yet back from the dark room, but will give a quick narative of what I know thus far.

My spies on the street have informed me that Mayor Zanku of Nidaros has been in touch with a few of the Merchant vessels Captains about smuggling him out of the Nidaros area to a place called 'Shrine of Honesty'. It was also heard also that he wanted a vessel to take him to Vesper where he was over heard saying he wanted to do some further searching into finding evidence (if any) that would ease his mind and prove that the verdict the Jurors came up with had substance. My spies tell me he was willing to pay a heffty sum for the trips.

My spies lost sight of him in the vacinity of Glydenfeld, when he entered a building there, but never came out, suspecting he took an underground passage out or snuck out through a secret door somewhere in the building. ( does he have comrades there that are helping him in his quest to prove that he was a competant juror and that the possibility of outside influence at the trial did not exsist?). My spies also tell me that some of the trials spectators want justice even to the point of kidnapping the Mayor and figuring out for themselves just what went through the heads of the Jurors to come up with such a verdict.

Were the jurors influenced somehow magically, mind controlled, bribed? Was Kendrick Morrow the twin of an evil one, that used him as a guinea pig so that the fingers would not be pointed his way? there is still alot to this untold story. I will stay on the dark room to finish the photos and keep writing away at this story. In the mean time, my spies are trying to locate the where abouts of Mayor Zanku. Does he have the nerve to show himself in Vesper knowing that danger lurks on any street he is seen on? Has he already left the Countryside on board a vessel? Hope to find out soon.

Stay toon'd for the latest coming soon.

I for one am tired of accusations against the jury members.

If you have a problem with the outcome of this trial then blame the Britanian judicial system. According to the evidence presented at the trial, Kendrick Morrow, aka Lord Derrick Mornwok is an innocent man. Perhaps if Lord Balandar had presented himself as a witness and given testimony against Lord Mornwok then the outcome would be different.

Personally my only problem with the trial was the taking of title and property from a man who was found innocent.

Concerning Mayor Zanku and any examination regarding his fitness for duty. The decree that he 'medidtate on his mistake' was unjust from the moment it was uttered as no mistake has been made. The accusation that there is anything wrong with him was made by someone obviously out for blood, and should have been ignored rather than given any attention.

My spies on the street informed me that Mayor Zanku was going to board a Merchant Vessel as the sun hit the horizon. They said he paid the heffty sum of 550k to the captain in order to smuggle him to the land where the SHRINE OF HONESTY was. I slid the gold coins to my underhanded friends and headed for the spot where Zanku was to meet the Captain. It was on the northern shores northwest of Nidaros, near the straits of Skara Brea.

The sun hadn't quite settled yet, so that gave me time to obtain a row boat in order to sneak out to the ship undetected. I purchased the rowboat and made my way up the coast till I could see Zanku standing on the shore awaiting his ride. In the distance off shore, I spotted the Merchant Vessel. Before the Vessel could get any closer, I slid the rowboat into the water, using the shoreline to help conceal me. While the ships rowboat launched and starting heading towrds shore to pick Zanku up, I pushed off and headed towards the back side of the ship, hoping not to get caught. Once on the port side, I climbed up the portside rope ladder and managed to hide under leather goods they had on board.

I saw Mayor Zanku as he came aboard and headed for the forward section of the ship. It would be a long ride, so I made myself comfortable. Sometime during the night, I must have made some noise and was rudely awaken by the point of a cutlass near my throat. I was taken to the captains cabin and questioned. I told him I was there covering a story on Zanku. The Captain ordered Zanku to his cabin. Once there, Zanku looked at me and shook his head. "Why are you following me?" he said. "How did you find me?" I looked away and mummbled that all I wanted to do was to make a name for myself and needed him in order to be recognized. Zanku explained to the Captain that she was with him and would pay the extra "fee" to cover any inconveiences. The captain didn't look pleased but accepted Zanku's offer.

The next morning, we disembarked and made our way to the SHRINE OF HONESTY. There he met a friend that was to be a witness, an escort, to verify that he indeed was at the shrine in order to "Meditate" his thoughts of what transpired at the Kendrick Morrow trial and the verdict. Zanku found a comfortable spot to sit and after relaxing, went into a meditative state. He was like that for a few hours when he said he couldn't come to any conclusions about the trial and needed to go to Morrow's residence.

To make this article short, his escort got us a ship to Vesper, where he looked around for any clues, then on to the Wisp dungeon where he thought he could Meditate better. From there we ended up at the SHRINE OF HONESTY in Trammel. There he thought long and hard on the case and finished writting his thoughts in a Journal that he was instructed to do by the Govoner of paxlair.

"What conclusions have you come up with?" I asked. "Well", he said. "I haven't. I can't come to any conclusion. I still have to many questions. I agree with and don't agree with the decisions we made at the trial. I can and can't agree with Commander Foxx in the accusations against Morrow. Were we under some type of spell or influence while in the Jurors box? Was it really Morrow that did these acts against the realm or was there a stronger force controlling him like a puppet? Then there's the "EVIL TWIN" theory that plaques me. I just can't come to a complete decision at this time on wether or not the decision I agreed to with my Juror peers was right or wrong. Maybe if we found him Guilty, maybe he would have told us the truth and the location of this 'other power' or someone who was directly involved in his Havoc raising across Sosaria. Was what he pleaded truth or just an elaberate ploy to get us to set him free? I just don't know at this point. It's driving me insane, and thats what I'm suppose to prove I'm not." as he hung his tired head low.

We finished up at the shrine and quietly made our way back to the main land. There he departed and said we couldn't follow. He said he would not endanger those around him and quietly dissappeared into the darkness. I will catch up with him again I'm sure. Thats why I have spies on my payroll. these photographs below proves he was at these places. he also mentioned that the journal was done and that he would mail it to Govoner Winfield.
