Juka Warriors No Longer In Wrong?

I've been gone for a few years due to school, and now I'm back.

I was surprised to see that the Juka warriors, mages and lord are no longer in Dungeon Wrong, and they are replaced by Lizardmen, Trolls and Ogres. What made this happen?

Thats how it was back in the day. I remember running from brit to wrong, collecting like 1k, then running back, praying to not be ambushed by pks. Good times.

You are talking about Wrong in Trammel. I think the change happened sometime back in 2007? I don't know why, because I was also on a break from the game.

Exodus Overseer, Golems, and Controllers were also there.

I really wish they'd change it back.

The Juka moving into Wrong happened hmm.. I can't remember if it was with Third Dawn or the Lord Blackthorn's Revenge expansion, but prior to that the inhabitants are what you see in there now.

All that really happened is they restored Wrong to it's original spawn a few years ago.

Yeah, technically the Juka, etc. were EVENT LEFTOVERS that should have been cleaned up before AoS launched.

You'll also notice that they finally cleaned up Trammel Yew as well, with Mondain's Legacy (another long overdue event clean-up).

Welcome back. As others have pointed out, the original Wrong spawn was how it is now; Wrong's concept, as I recall, is that it was an old, brutal prison, and most of the spawn reflects that. Most of the spawn can fairly be described as semi-ghostly, monstrous leftovers of brutal guards and brutal prisoners.

Wrong is the Sin or Anti-Virtue opposite the Virtue of Justice. As the Prison behind the Court of Truth is generally seen as a good prison, where the prisoners are generally cared for and Justice is enforced, Wrong is the bad prison, where Injustice was rampant and the prisoners were abused.

The Juka/etc. spawn was temporary; it was Blackthorn's staging area. And indeed when Blackthorn finally got impatient and launched an all out attack, it was on Yew: The closest city to Wrong. (Unfortunately, the team at the time, the AoS team, ****ed up and did not in any way involve the Juka or the Exodus monsters in the attack.)

There were complaints when Wrong was first changed. There were complaints when it was changed back.

The two are not quite comparable.

The change to Yew was intended to be permanent or nearly so.

There were multiple levels of victory or defeat in the Plague of Despair scenario, but broadly speaking we could win and turn Yew into a healthy swamp, or lose and it would remain a plague-infected swamp; in the latter case the escort NPCs wouldn't recognize it as a town, monsters would spawn, and the remaining NPCs would be plague carriers. I think certain EM events from the first round of EM events managed to infect certain PCs as well.

At the time there were complaints about how events didn't permanently effect the world. Once they did so, in Yew, there were complaints about how events permanently effected the world. Once Yew got changed back by the Heartwood Elves (that was their introductory gift to us) there were, as you can guess, complaints about that.

The Juka were imported over from UO2 after it got axed. I'm pretty sure they were even gonna be a playable race in UO2.

I guess nastolgia makes me want to see them back since I GM all of my warriors off of them. :)

Recall restrictions and paragons keeps me from going to Ilshenar to fight them, especially since I can't handle all the spawn by myself and it's mostly a ghosttown there when there are no other players around for safety.

What shard? I also have characters that need training but aren't really ready to be out alone. Be ecstatic to find someone to hunt with.

Most shards got the clean up as the Dev work hard to fix errors and bugs... some shards are still needing clean up on some event leftovers..... but for the most part they are trying their best. Juka can now be found in Ish and you can kill them to your hearts content.
