And it only took 10 minutes to make me mad!

I created a new account, bought the Stygian Abyss expansion and saw I also got a 14 day free trial, so seemed like a good start.

Did what I always do when starting fresh, get on a crafter noob and head for Delucia in Fel to live out my training days.

Well what is this.. I get to the passage to Delucia and the game says trial accounts are not allowed to enter???

So I go and buy a 30 day game code, and apply to my account.

And it still won't let me enter for 14 days??????????

Ok let me explain this... They put serious restrictions on the first 14 days because people were using trail accounts to cheat.. That 30 day code shouldn't take effect til after the 14 days so there isn't much you can do about it.

I don't understand why if I have paid time on my account I should be restricted in any way. I can't cancel that paid time, it can't be taken away. What's the point of restricting a paying customer?


And THP, I guess you missed the point about this being a new account. I have no interest in playing my old account that had 100 of everything.

I want to build a new empire :]

I believe if you call EA, explain the situation to them, and ask them to remove the "trial account" status from your account, you should no longer have to deal with the trial account restrictions listed on this page:

Young Player Status and Trial Accounts

You may, however, lose the 14 days of free play time.

I think the Customer Support number is 1-866-543-5435, based on what's listed on the official UO site (Contact Info | Mythic Entertainment | Ultima Online)

To remove the 14 day free trial, they have to remove the 30 paid days, and the Stygian Abyss upgrade codes, the put them back after removing the trial.

He did that, but then he found out he can't put back the 30 day code. He confirmed with supervisor that the 30 day codes won't go back on from his end.

So he had to give me a 180 day code instead :]

All is more than well!

Probably too late now, but keep in mind that Young folk aren't allowed in Felucca either... I'm not sure if you tried the ever-so-ridiculous phrase "I renounce my young status" (or whatever the secret ingredients of words is... haven't used it in ages) to remove your young tag, but it might be/have been worth a try.

(Might be "I renounce my young player status"... I just don't remember anymore... and too lazy to look it up right now... hehe)

Congrats on the 180 days I got around this by immediately cancelling my new account to remove the 14 day trial, then reactivating my subscription. I should've called the CS number, since they are giving away free game time.

trial accounts cause nothing but troubles.. if you plan to play dont use a trial.. get new activation with SA and be on your way..

make sure they give you the new player kit token code when you buy SA
also make sure you cash in the token on a char you actually want to build. cause they only work on the one.

A crafter, since that's my thing. So nobody to dual, just someone to hunt and take his stuff. :]

Welcome back Molinaro, you'll find that other old players and Stratics' users have been coming back to "THE" game, recently.........

Hope you'll enjoy much of the new additions. Quite a few in the past 5 years....

Make sure you get imbuing, you'll love it, especially as a returning player.

Well you have to consider that my main interest in the game centers around crafting, bods, and developing my char in Fel Delucia. That's everything that is blocked on a trial account. Losing all that was easily enough to kill my interest.

Thankfully, the community came up with a solution that worked.
