Bazaar Encampment Vendor Changes

I d-clicked my bazaar vendor and it said I have invalid items for sale.
The items were returned to me in commodity deed.

Looks like you cannot sell Enhanced Bandages nor Bola Balls (the latter I really didn't expect to sell anyhow) on the commodity vendors now.
Interesting. Anyone else get stuff back like this?

Also I like that you can rename your vendor now, and customize your vendor, plus a couple other things that I didn't try out.

Also noticed,

When adding items to inventory, you used to be able to hit escape OR hit the main menu button to drop the cursor and stop adding items.

NOW even though the system still says you can still hit the main menu button to stop, it no longer drops the cursor unless you use the escape button.

Also in regards to the invalid items...
They remove from my list as a bazaar owner but they don't remove from the players list as a bazaar shopper.
This means I can't get rid of them on the list nor can I move them down further on the list so at least they are not as prominent nor can I change the price to buy or list not to buy them at all.

I have always hoped to see Town vendors only allowed to sell items pertaining to the "spirit" of that town.

Like Warriors' stuff in Trinsic, Mage stuff in Magincia (or Moonglow ?), Fishing and seafaring stuff in Vesper and so forth.

This would make players want to visit ALL towns depending on their needs and help repopulate towns with players' life in UO.

Perhaps this is a step towards that direction ? I sure hope so !!

Ya this is a pretty major problem. The new publish completely wiped out my imbuing vendor on top of which I can't even get back into my main menu to modify my vendor and salvage any gold.

These vendors like almost everything in UO are no longer worth the trouble. Saltpeter which was the one thing making money is now invalid. It's just going to be easier to do regular vendors. Once Magincia becomes a ghost town the Devs can look in the mirror and say, 'I did that.'

Aye Caldwin, this is my second go around with the bazaar vendors.
The first ended with me losing a bunch of colored granite.
I like the idea of these vendors soo much though, i decided to give it another try and just avoiding granite (and basing in Fel just to be different)

The system needs to be bug free (or as close as possible) so those of us who like it and are trying it can build a client base and attract some more interest to it.

But alas this might be my last go around with these vendors.

Aero, So all your imbuing "essence of [insert name here]" were listed as invalid items?

Anything else kick back to you before the whole vendor shut you down?

The vendor itself keeps telling me there are invalid items but doesn't put the deed in my bag so it's kind of stuck at that screen without any options to exit back to the main menu and remove the items myself.

Well if a few more post up items that were thrown back to them as "invalid" then maybe you can just buy those items out (and suffer through the 5% commision) and at least get to your vendor. Or maybe we should put up one of these vendors on test center and just add items to get the invalid list.

I have heard of Heavy Powder Charges being invalid, so that can go on the list

Hopefully I will have some time to hit test center and get the full list.
I guess since only a handful of players are taking advantage of encampment vendors this hasn't sent alarm bells off to the devs. I certainly didn't think to go on test center before the publish to test changes to these bazaar vendors. Hopefully a couple more people will send in bug reports so the numbers start to build a little.

Now I have to wait 6-12 hours to win a stall to test this out to see what items are invalid.

Just checked today and it worked! I can get into the main menu now for my vendors. My thanks for the speedy fix.

Thank you Pheonix. While you are looking at it, can you look at two other items on these vendors.

One egg bombs...I put on two stacks of egg bombs 239 non-exceptional ones and 62 exceptional egg bombs. (In hindsight probably not the best move but I was trying to add a bunch of things and see what was invalid and valid.) Anyways, my count that I see on the vendor shows only the 239. The customer sees a count of 301. But the customer can't buy 301 if they try buying any amount over 239 they get the "quantity not available" message. I sent it in to uobugs today.

Two granite...something very similiar to the eggbombs happened with my first go round on the bazaar vendors with regular granite and colored granite as well. I put on regular granite and some of every type of the different colored granites. Seperate line items were not made on my vendor instead one item for granite. I saw the quantity as the regular granite amount I put on, and the customer saw the quantity as the total amount of granite (all colors) and they would get the "quantity not available" message. I paged GM's multiple times but that was as useful as one-legged man in a buttkicking contest. The result was me pulling the vendor by letting the lease expire and trying to reclaim it from the warehouse and then finally just letting them be, how did the game put it "donated to the orphans of britannia".

I think if this system gets the bugs out, it is a great system and could really catch on and has some staunch supporters.

Agreed, I am debating letting this last attempt go to the warehouse and then expiring as well.

When the Devs said it was a gold sink, I thought they were referring to the commissions and such. Didn't realize they meant certain items that you put on it will just never be retrievable.

Couple things I realized about my previous post...what the hell is an exceptional eggbomb do anyhow? Also this would effect anything that can be made as exceptional and stacks such as grapes of wrath (another thing that has no use being made exceptional)

I really think it is to the point that we need a list of items that can and cannot be put on the commodity vendors without bug. The invalid items list I believe is being worked on but the other list of bugged items will probably remain.

This fix is it just for those items listed as invalid currently or would it include those odd items such as granite and egg bombs?
Either way is fine just wanted to know.

Greater Confusion and Greater Conflag potions returned to me as invalid items.

Visited my vendor today and the fix worked nicely. The imbuing essences and abyssal cloth I was able to put back on my vendor. Haven't had any sales or trades with them yet but I will alert of any problems if they are encountered.

There still remains a few items that cannot be placed on vendors that perhaps, have some different scenario that would prevent them from being placed.

Brilliant ambers, for instance, bring up the following message: "Commodity brokers cannot trade in certain special or rare items, or items that have been dyed". Brilliant ambers are a part of rare gems. All the other rare gems from blue diamonds to white pearls, can be put on vendors. Only brilliant ambers have this problem.

I hope this helps towards finding a possible solution. I thank the developers for addressing and fixing these issues as quickly as possible.

I tried saltpeter and it once again works.

So since the fix
1. Brilliant Ambers still not working.
2. Greater Conflag and Greater Confusion now broken or "invalid"

Still need to check colored granite and items that stack that can be made exceptional.

Another encampment problem:

I've had this happen to me twice so far. First time it happened was the day before Publish 71 was turned on. Second time it happened was a few days ago. I wasn't able to find any pattern to it but it may possibly have occurred at times when my vendor contract was about to expire. I'll keep my eyes opened anyways.

The problem occurs from the admin side of vendors when trying to set prices. The fields get populated with random gibberish, it's never constant. Sometimes it's long, other times it's short and never the same. It makes it difficult to try and change pricing because sometimes the characters refuse to remove with backspace.

The worst scenario I have encountered is being unable to actually enter the menu at all. Often times it will reach a point where it crashes the client outright. Logging in and out is not a solution as it returns when you've logged back in. Here's what it looks like:

Some information to add to the bug I deem to call the "Crashing gremlin gibberish bug", if this happens to you in the classic client and gets to a point where you can no longer change pricing without crashing, try using the enhanced client as it seems to work alright there.

Considering the magnitude of this problem and that it was experienced by other players, it needs to be fixed and addressed by the developers pretty soon. Magincia bazaar vendors don't need anymore nails for the coffin.
