Why do so many players think there will be a Cleanup Britannia 2011? - ANSWERED!

I have read the official UO website, and there is no mention of such an event for the near future, or ever for that matter.

Is this another case of a few vet players starting a rumor mill that is swelling into an anticipated event? In my experience, UO does not deliver from player requests.

Because Cal said there was going to be. on several occasions, and has provided some (very limited) information.

However, if Cal goes to work somewhere else or something, this idea could be lost in the wind. If there has been no mention through UO.com, I fear this may never come to fruition.

Producer Holiday Update

1 Jul 2011 22:50:59 EST
Before everyone heads off to face Independence Day traffic, I wanted to give you all an update.
Our overall goal this year was to keep a healthy cadence of small to medium publishes, fleshing out our current in-world content, while also offering more exploration. Less fiction more in-game activity. Shorter story arcs, more replay ability … so with that, here is the update:
Currently, some PvP changes we held on to for a few months have made it to Test Center. We have already gotten some initial feedback from North American, European, and Japanese communities, and are adapting the feedback accordingly. There are a few changes, and in this case, we think change is good.
Next week (after we return) we will be posting patch notes and adding High Seas content. We have tested and evaluated a new sea encounter, as well as updated rewards and elements of the fishing quests.
In addition, in the next several weeks, we’ll be adding client crash fixes, publishing the second phase of the current live story Ter Mur, and releasing a healthy dose of gameplay bug fixes.
We decide to split all of our content into two separate publishes. After July expect to see the following:
· Clean up Britannia (the update formerly known as Spring Cleaning) – We are currently testing and evaluating about 850 items with turn ins and rewards
· Anniversary item additions
· Art resolution updates to the Enhanced client
· Veteran Rewards
None of this information should be new to those who have been following the boards and patch notes, but for those who are returning … and there has been a sizeable number of you … welcome back, and keep watching for updates.
Thanks to all of you have participated and taken the time to give us feedback on the latest in PvP changes … if you have not take a wander over and let us know what you think.
Finally, thanks to everyone who has participated in the Talents of Sosaria … for those who cannot draw or sculpt … if you have the inclination -- please submit any house decorations for the 4th of July weekend to Mesanna.
Be safe and have a joyous weekend!

P.S. …. We have noted that there is a leadership vacuum in Britannia … Wait until you see how we fill it

And what makes you think Cal is going to work somewhere else?

Oh, I'm a returning vet player and over the years have seen many a producer come and go. I also work in IT, and there is a tremendous amount of job hopping, etc.

However, it looks like it was posted officially. So, my question is answered.. and it looks like we will get it!

Postings on UO.com are not Finite.....Just wanted to toss that out there, in fact they are as finite as the posts he makes on Stratics, not meaning to compare the two but yea. UO.com, Stratics, that Video site they use for the Videos they post, none of it contains Finite information, only possibilities.

Hi, and yes there is gonna be a Spring (Summer) Cleaning 2011. I heard about it from Mesanna herself when she was re-constructioning the West Britain bank on Pacific. But that was before...April 16th 2010. Way before the Pacific Rares festival. The devs couldn't have the Summer Cleaning in 2010 because they had too much on their plate for UO in mind so it was postponed. (And it was too early since the Spring Cleaning 2008).

However, they requested other players submitted ideas on what they would like to see to turn in that is bulked up in their house. I gathered as much ideas from other players as well as my own so I gave them to Mesanna. Hopefully the devs will listen and it should the event should start soon. But for now, they need help completing the PvP patch that's on TC1 server. After the PvP patch, is the Summer Cleaning patch and maybe the 2nd part of that Queen Zhah quest. (mentioned on UO herald before 4th of July 2011) So keep your fingers crossed and "hope" it is arrives by............August to September 2011....

P.S. This is my experience from what I "heard."
