Suggestion, New Karma/Fame Tiers

Hey all

i suggest to make new tiers for karma (both positive and negative) and fame, do display different titles if you are beyond 15-20k points.

could be done by moving Lord/Lady to 15-20k and make a new tier in between.

also make a new row of karma titles at 15-20k positive and negative.

Reason: uptaining 10k karma and fame these days are far to easy, and lord/lady lost all meaning.

admitted, uptaining 20k fame might be a tad too hard, but 15k then would be sufficient.

Greetings

as i said in post, its too easy to uptain as is currently so it doesnt mean anything.. so short answer to your question would be "No", as is currently.

yes they do, at least i do.
it is nice to have the title on the large fish i get or on a artifact or item of creation....
Votes for a Virtue finish before a Karma/fame change though...

I would have agreed with you, had you not said this. People are too quick to assume that things are easy in this game just because it is easy for them. The bar is not raised based on your abilities. :fight:

wrong, and you just trolling for no reason, you know well, that the system is unchanged since launch and that insurance, imbuing, runic kits, powerscrolls and whatever else we got meanwhile had a major impact in uptaining fame/karma while the titles are unchanged.

ive seen youngs that was lord..

You are right that there are some youngs with the titles, but they are not always NEW PLAYERS to this game. There are still a lot of NEW players as well as those who have been playing for awhile who can't easily get the titles. I honor a lot, so I don't get them easily. There are other situations that apply.

No trolling, just pointing out the fact that something that is easy for you may not be easy for others. I can find a T-Map chest on the first try, others can't. Should it be made harder because I can do it easy?

hehe, as i pointed out it was well harder pre-aos to get lord as it is today, and have not gotten any harder with runic kits, powerscrolls and of late, imbuing.

was only making a point that as a young (with less than 350 total skill points) can get lord. then its too easy. in fact you can have nothing else but magery enough to cast earthele or EV and still get lord.

if people find it hard to get lord, then its only a matter of reading up on forums how its done.. everyone can get lord. <- which ruins the purpose of getting it.

.. its not suppose to be easy.. a newcomers are not suppose to grab lord on thier second day. <- entire point of thread.

by raising the lord/lady thresshold to 15k you got to kill stuff in abyss or stuff like succubus or similar. which makes it way more interesting to own a such title. for everyone, and for those not able to get 15k fame then they got something to look forward too :p

If maintaining 10k+ fame hasn't felt like an utterly trivial task to you for years and years now then you're just really bad at PVM. I'm sorry you can't handle an Ice Fiend, maybe you don't deserve to be Lord.

Ha! Succubus is a joke, and you really will earn fame/karma real fast if you use the same techique others use to gain points in the Honor virtue. I have not encountered succubus, but this is the advise given by others to make fighting it easy and gaining Knight of Honor. One day I will try it.

succubus is not an entire joke actually, while a sampire and archer got fairly easy with em, other templates are not as easy.

in any case they are a moderate step up from demons and ice fiends.

i dont want it to be impossible/reserved the "Pros" anyways.. only somewhat harder..

I would love to see a return to a setup which works sort of like the original noto system did. One where ones title or reputation could be used to accurately judge the past actions of the player and in fel, be given the choice of taking action or not. Based solely off the repuatation the player created for himself. Of course a system which couldn't be abused as the original was, but nonetheless, a departure from the meaningless one currently in place now. At this moment what we have only means something to younger players, rp'ers, and a select minority of the population. Sure, I might have clicked the button to add "Evil Lord" to my title, but it sure doesn't mean I give a sh...

I know some will disagree, but if the noto system was reworked and overhauled instead of being scrapped for the Karma/Fame or Rep system (Potato, potato), the bugs roto rooted out and the system reintroduced all those years ago, I really believe it would have been a much bigger hit than what we have now. Now, for ideas, I'm just now pondering it all and would not dare plop an idea down before I had time to think it over, but it really shouldn't be that hard to come up with a concept. (Now maybe, coding it in would be a different story, I don't know.)

5k fame = Sir/Dame
10k fame = Lord/Lady
15k fame = Baron/Baroness
20k fame = Duke/Duchess

title based on a tier are not a good thing...
maybe they should add something like the library where you can donate fame/karma in order to "buy" a title. Something like:
100k fame = sir
200k fame = count
400k fame = duke
800k fame = baron
1 mil fame = lord

they could also add many other profession titles for sale by donating karma/fame and based on your skills... like:
wizard
warlock
evil mage
squire
knight
ranger
dark knight
ecc...

No? It would be nice if the fame titles could be bestowed upon the character based on quests, events, etc. I remember when spawn titles for defeating bosses, (like Eradicator of the Vermin Horde, Slayer of the Cold Blood, etc) used to be quite the thing some time ago until players got tired of the titles for some reason and wanted the option to remove them.

It would really be nice if, in addition to quest and event items, players earned a title. You'd really be able to tell who bought that item and who actually earned it.

yes, a quest or a community collection...but buying a title with fame instead of gold requires a lot of efforts... try to earn 1 mil fame, there are no tricks to do that on the fly :p
