Flower Beds...... more please

I bought 1 grand pack of both the rustic and gothic. While they both had things that my crafter liked they lacked alot too. Like more of the flower beds.

I would have liked that the pack would have one on each shard the account played. To get one for each shard I would need to buy so many packs I dont want or need.

How about selling the beds in a pack of say 5 codes so you could put one on the shard its needed and not in one place. I'd go 4.99 for that. You would make alot more $$ on us that way.

Trouble is that so many monsters take so long to kill due to an asinine number of hp, that players would be spending more in orange petals at current prices than the monsters drop in loot except for the occasional ones that drop something valuablle.

How about making them craftable, but putting a limit on the number that can be placed in each house, maybe by making them take up a vendor slot.

Not really Hen, the biggest one only holds 9 plants and it takes the same amount of time to get the seeds and resources as it does in the normal pots. from seed to plant is 9 days and from plant to last seed/resource is another 9 for a total of 18 days thats not fast in my book. All this bed does is allow me the choice of getting 9 more plants i dont need to worry about watering which in my book is NOT a resource plant, but my white and black seeds. (although I have in there right now is my poppies growing for seed iding)

Now remember only on the account that has the xpac can hold and use this item..
So I cant see a problem in having more available for my other shards I play.

I have homes on the account I put it on over 13 shards, and I am not buying 13 xpacs to get each house a planter!! If that is their thinking they can put a hand on their tail and hum dixie cause it anit gunna happen.

No it wouldn't.

There are very few people who would go through the trouble of gardening just because resources aren't used. Not to say some wouldn't, but by and large, the flower beds still require you pay attention to the plant (as I recall, they said something about ignoring a plant once it completely finished growing would result in a dead plant, but not sure on that one), if only because you have to remember to collect the existing ones and swap in new plants.

The only thing it "might" have an effect on would be the sales of potions. But most big-time gardeners (the ones who are typically selling those consumables) already have their own alchemists and make their own potions.

I've always had mixed feelings about the flower beds.
My feeling has always been that if you want to grow a plant, you need to tend to it daily, check it, water it, and pay attention every day. That's why I like the current plant system and why a part of me feels like the new flower beds hurt that system. You do the work, you get the reward. That's what makes it fun for me. Seeing my work pay off when they bloom on day 7.
Now of course, that's just my opinion and I'm sure others feel differently and that's fine with me.

But that being said, having grown plants for years, I know first hand how it can get time consuming and tedious. And not everyone has the chance to log in everyday, and it can be brutally slow if you grow them in your backpack and can't log in everyday.

For the casual player who just wants a couple flowers for their home or to grow their own resources, the flower bed works nicely.

Also, did you know that the beds take 20 fertile dirt if you choose to go that route? Planting them in a regular plant bowl, however, takes 40.

To close, I doubt that if EA went the route of selling them individually, that they would charge any less than 4.99 per deed. Again, my opinion. But with them, you just never know

garden consumeables will retain value if this was made avalible for the majority who do garden would be the ones who would buy this the players who said na no thanks will not change their minds its still a pain to gather the seeds and resources yeah sure a few will but not many. give this to us!

A big thing to remember on devaluing is the physical space in a house that the bed takes. It's not exactly a tiny thing to get 9 plants for... and a lot of people won't use them because of how they do/don't fit their design.

Well to be honest if they charged anymore then a dollar or 2 per bed they wont sell but a few.. as 5$ each is the cost of the High Seas xpac.... and no I wont pay that much for it sorry. I feel a 4 to 5 deed code pack for 4.99 or 5.99 is fine. This would go over well and allow many who play more then one shard to have this.

I did notice that the bed sections lift up kinda soo I was thinking they could later maybe add it to a customizable house menu as a add on like the tables and water falls....
It's just an idea...

Plant Elemental your fine dear, your entitled to your opinion good or bad. I do understand your postion and yes I can see where it could be misused. The benifits out weigh the bad in this case. You are right many players cant log in every day.

This would be great. The only problem i see preventing it is there are a number of folks who are buying the theme pack just for the plant codes, no other reason. So they're making a bigger profit by selling 1 at $9.99 than 5 at 4.99.

Those 27 plants will produce 216 petals without having to be tended. So yes, it is quite clear that the addition of flower beds for sale as a stand-alone item would destroy the sales of gardening consumables.

Well at the rate they are consumed in pvp and pvm that 216 will be gone quite fast. Not to mention that the time it takes to get a batch for that number takes 18 day total the 216 will be long gone way before the next batch is ready to harvest. Thats only 12 petals per day for use if you do the math. I can personaly atest that 12 is not that much if your truly out hunting things that tend to poison you at every turn. I'd need to dip into the next days amount most likely when I go hunting in earnist. So that kicks your theory in the tail kiddo. In pvp..... I doubt 12 will cover the average play time.

Now what I want to know is how does one player with say 1 or 2 accounts apply the code to their account to get the deed in the first place if they follow your example CassieDarksong. I mean if you already apply 1 code can you do it multiple times? I wouldnt have that trouble but the average player out there has at the ready 1 to 4 accounts up and avalible for a code and if you want say 5 or 6 beds...... on more then one shard???

I was simply asking for more beds cause the 1 dual pack I bought came with 1 bed, now thats fine and I did have to watch which shard I loged in and got it on, my wish is for a bed on all the shards I play on that account if need be. I do have alot of accounts (53) unlike most here I could toss a pack on every account but I wont it would be a waste of money even for just a flower bed. Unlike High Seas this pack has very little I want. Most of my 66 homes are castles keeps and towers, very little customizable homes so the house deco part is moot for me. The other shards I have homes on where I want a bed for deco and use number in the teens.

It's not too much to ask in my opinion.

Upgrading your account on the account management web page and inserting the code online to get the garden bed are two separate actions. You can redeem all the codes online all on the same account after you upgrade each individual account on the web page.

Hehe yup sugar.. but according to CS im barely in the top 10% account owners!
I figured I could pick up a few more and put on accounts with crafters and use the flower bed code on where I wanted ... but it would be nice to buy a few more even just for the various sizes like Tina Small showed in her TC1 pixs.

I was at my tiny 7 x 7 last night and started to think where would someone who has a little uncustomized home would put the flower bed... considering they only have 1 floor with limited space. Then i remembered is saw that the bed when i placed it looked like blocks linked and even down you can see they lift up abit.... how about a 1 or 2 tile bed?
Say something so they dont feel they need give up the whole floor plan to get a few Flowers?

I saw the ones Tina Small had in her house on TC1 and the different ways both sizes could face. the 6 or 9 slot flower bed is great and I would have liked a set of them not just 1.
But the smaller home owners need something more on their scale. how about an adenda added to the bed list. 1 slot, 2 slot, 3 slot, 6 slot,9 slot the last 2 you have already. These in both facings would go along way and perhaps if we can talk the Dev into it a few more per pack would be nice. Or how about a kit where you get so many of the blocks that make up a flowerbed that you can place in what ever shape you need.??

Just so this is remotely on topic, I am an avid gardener in UO and I have 0 use for these. I bought the packs, the flower bed I dumped off to a friend. It is huge, not very pretty and more or less saves you about 2.5 mins a day, and a couple potions. Personally I do not get the big hoohah about the things. I do wish they would sell them on gamecodes seperately, for at least the same price as abyssal hair dye. I believe $3.99 is the price on those. I also wish they would go on and sell UO Gold etc.. and knock all of the 3rd party brokers off the map. One can dream I guess. If UO had access to all the money it generated it wouldn't be on the shoe string budget it appears to be.... just sayin.

Yes if EA/Mythic/Bioware took the bull by the horns before their new game comes out and had a serious look at what can be bought and sold and beat the crooks to the point and aranged the game site to sell it for low price.... they might have a bigger purse in the end. Same for UO items. But with it stop runaway inflation in UO??

All I want is a few flower beds for my other shards on my main accounts with out buying tons of xpacs I nether need or want. UO wants my money?? Do as I ask and you will get some. Period.
