Spreadsheet for Pricing Stone Items

I put together a spreadsheet for pricing stone items that I want to sell on Siege. I thought I'd share, in case anyone else has been struggling with how to price the items. I uploaded the spreadsheet to Google Documents and you can access it here: https://spreadsheets.google.com/spr...tLFwwdGZ2ekxKSlpjOWZvTGJrM0dOaEN3WUE&hl=en_US.

I set the base price for each type of stone as follows:

150 Plain
250 Dull Copper
350 Shadow Iron
450 Copper
550 Bronze
650 Gold
750 Agapite
850 Verite
950 Valorite

Then, for each type of item, I multiplied the base rate for each type of stone by the number of stones required for the item and then multiplied that result by 1 plus the failure rate. (The failure rate is 1.0 minus the success rate, which was determined by opening the masonry gump for that item while wearing a 23% masonry bonus talisman.) Then I rounded down that result to the next lowest multiple of 100.

Just a thought...
Lower any price that is near 500 to 499 and you save the 3 gold a day vendor fee for that item. Give it a try and watch your daily vendor fees.

Also if you put an item on your vendor for 600 gold and it is still there after 33 or 34 days, the vendor fees have already eaten the 101 gold extra you charged.
Remember an item priced at 500 or 600 will have the same daily vendor fee as an item priced at 999 gold. So you may want to find the nearest number divisible by 500 and reduce the price by 1.

I only say this because I have found masonry vendors to be poor inventory movers and with vendor fees tend to only break even if that. Thus on my masonry vendor most everything is set to 499 gold regardless to avoid vendor fees. Of course if you have a good location and your stuff is moving, your pricing schema is quite logical.

Another quick suggestion for your pricing schema, shadow stone furniture seems to be one of the more desirable categories and your price list might want to reflect this by upping the base unit cost of shadow granite or lowering some of the less desirable.

I believe dull copper is actually the least desirable (again through my experiences) even less so than regular granite.

One of the things that I have found that helps sell furniture is that it is dyable with the Tokuno dyes when it is made with something other than plain stone.

Oh really? I love UO because you learn something every day. Being slightly lazy here but if you have the information, can it be dyed with natural dyes as well (Tokuno dyes can be expensive). If that is the case all the dull copper pieces sitting around might go bright purple lol.

Anything is that enhanced can be dyed with the Tokuno dyes. Enhanced meaning armor, weapons, furnature, ect that is made with non-basic leather, iron, wood and STONE. I haven't tried the natural dyes. But I can tell you, the dyed Ritual Tables look pretty sweet... especially the Beserker Red one.

If you are on Atlantic, I have a LOT of Tokuno dyes, I'd be willing to dye one or two for ya. Actually, I tried to sell a complete full set of Tokuno dyes and didn't get a single response.

Thanks for the very kind offer. But I will give it a try with natural dyes and report my findings. I have a 40 count of pigment somewhere, think it is Violet Courage. That should give me a start.

Natural dyes don't seem to work, at least not on dull copper large stone table south deed.
Nor does pigments of tokuno violet courage 50 charges.

I also tried dull copper chair, turned every which way on both the natural dyes and the pigments of tokuno.

Am I doing something wrong?

You have to do it when it is in deed form. If there are some on my vendor if it hasn't sold.

I haven't checked this thread in a couple of days, so a belated thanks for the additional information.

I haven't experimented with dying stone furniture deeds yet, but I'm wondering if you have to use the dye on them before they are used for the first time? That is what I've been told to do with wood furniture deeds made of wood other just plain old normal wood, i.e., make it with something like ash and use the dye before the deed is used the first time. So I wonder if that might be why you couldn't dye the dull copper table deed.

I will try later and let you know what I found out. I finally got some black plants into deco mode on Siege so I'll be making black natural dye out of it. Would love to see if it makes something nicer out of dull copper furniture deeds!

Aye I made a deed for a large stone table out of dull copper granite and immediately tried to dye it.
I have done it with carpentry stuff.
Perhaps I just have the wrong dyes or something. When the natural dyes failed I figured the pigments of tokuno would work but for the life of me I can't figure it out.

I don't doubt it can (or at least could at one time) dye stone furniture...just seem to be having difficulty accomplishing it myself.

Perhaps I'll jump on test and just try a ton of combinations in hopes of figuring it out.

If you have enough to do some testing, can you see if you can still accomplish it?

I guess I was mistaken about the Furniture. I can't dye tables either, but I can dye the new Ritual Tables. I could have sworn I dyed them before....

Berserker Red Ritual Tables look pretty cool.
