After doing some research I decided to buy the Rustic Theme Pack game code. I knew from earlier discussions that the ability to craft the distillery was switched on after installing this pack.

What has me angry is the way the Rustic Theme Pack is advertised on the UO Game Codes Store. Their description of the distillery makes it sound like the distillery comes with the pack:

Enjoy a nice fresh brew from your distillery while your neighbors are green with envy over your new topiaries, and relax as your new brokers hawk your wares.​

"Moonshine"/alcohol distillery - Gives players the opportunity to distill their own types of liquor and name them for in-game distribution and consumption.​

A picture of the distillery is featured prominently. It doesn't say "Now you can build your own distillery..." or anything to that effect.

So I figured that I would get a distillery deed in my Rustic Theme Pack. How suprised I was to see nothing but a Raised Garden Bed deed in my backpack.​

I'll point out that the Rustic Bench is clearly described as a "craftable item", so I knew that I was getting the ability to make a bench... not an actual bench. (Rustic Bench is a craftable unique bench)​

The fact that the patcher screen also lists the distillery as an item certainly makes it seem that it is included in the pack.​

Does anyone else feel that the descriptions provided by the gamecodes store are misleading or deceptive?​

I've PM'ed Mesanna and since this is Friday, I'll wait a few days before my next move. But I can say for sure that if I don't get a distillery deed, I'll take this complaint up a few notches and put the heat on to resolve the issue.​

(And not just by complaining about it on Stratics either...)​

You can find them on vendors for like 10k or less on Atlantic.

I agree that they should have said it was a crafted item on uogamecodes.

If you don't have the 10k to buy one, I'll happily gift you the gold on Atlantic. I didn't buy either pack, but I think you have to craft the barrels as well.

When you read the add the only thing they mention that will be placed in your pack is the raised bed deed.


* Go to the account management page https://account.ea.com/myacct/uo/uo-hub.jsp?skin=uo and click on Modify An Account
* Click on Subscription Information and Upgrade Account
* Enter your Upgrade Code EXACTLY as it appears to you in the email.
* Start UO and keep your same code you used to upgrade your account.
* Open your paper doll (or character window) and click on the "Help" button.
* Click the "Promotional Code" button at the bottom of the Help window.
* Enter your Rustic Theme Pack Code EXACTLY as it appears when it is emailed to you. You CAN copy and paste the code from the email to make things easier.
* Your code will be verified and if valid a Raised Garden Bed deed will be placed in your inventory bag.

Also, anyone who reads these forums and/or tests any of the patches on test would know that the distillery would only come as a craftable item.

I read all kinds of stuff on Stratics. Stratics isn't responsible for supplying product descriptions for uodamecodes so even though I did participate in discussions about the distillery, I figured that the the description on the gamecodes site would provide a definitive description.

There are a couple hundred posts on the topic on Stratics and not everyone who plays UO is a member of Stratics.

My point is that the description on the gamecode site should be clear on the issue.

Thanks for your offer. As for buying a completed still, I'll look around but I still feel that for $10, I should have one already.

Oh, and before making the purchase, I set up a character on Test Center to test the distillery, and they were statues dispensing distillery deeds in town... that's what I expected to get for $10 bucks.

I read the description on the website and there isnt a single thing on there that claims you would get a deed for a distillery.

You combine that with reading the forums and reading previous posts from the Devs and it's quite clear it is was to be a craftable only item.

Sorry, but just because you assumed you would get a deed because you got a deed on test, rather then informing yourself as much as possible, doesnt mean you should get a deed now.

Thats kind of like buying boat paints and because it doesnt say to double click it then you shouldent have to.. actually im going to buy ship paints and then tell the devs that i want them to click it for me so i can target my ship... You are the only one that thinks you got duped. but if it means that much to you then do as you please... just dont post about it anymore...

I'll give you that not everyone uses Stratics, but it is stated on the uo herald as well Publish 70.04 Available on Test Center 1 Today | Mythic Entertainment | Ultima Online I agree uogamecodes (which I think is an outsourced thing) should have put it on the description, but I think you're really making a bigger fuss than necessary.

My offer to gift you the gold for distillery stands. Maybe take this whole thing as an adventure and take the time to train the skills to make it... those skills can be pretty useful and will probably be useful in the future.

I remember a whole discussion on copper wire to build it.

I also remember seeing it in patch notes or whatever.

In any case... you aren't going to resolve anything. Everyone pointed out it is fairly clear. For $10 why not just say you made a mistake or 50-50 - them and you.

In about 7 days the distillery and everything that can be made will be out and about.

Why stress?
