Healing Skill

Does anyone know what healing skill is needed to never fail? I've always ran with 90 on my warriors but have a new temp in mind that can only fit 80-81.

Ive tried with 80 on test center for a few minutes and never got the fail to apply bandages message, was I lucky? or is the difference between 90 and 80 in success chance so low? or is it in fact 80 min skill that never fails?

I've even read somewhere that its 80.1 ..

I believe that you will succeed above 80, but if you get hit for more than 20 points of damage and your fingers slip, you have a chance to completely fail when healing.

I always run at least 90, and more whenever I can fit it in.

I would either try to work in skill increase to hit 90, or drop something.

well that sux, and my jewels are already crammed with skills as it is lol

originally i was going with no anat and 100 healing because while in vamp form i wouldn't really need to cure unless lethaled and i ended up with all 70's lmc40 hci45 dci54 di100% hp130 stam188 mana67 plus 35ssi. but i'm trying to get my bf to play with me again ;p and he wants us to both have a way of curing lethal poison.. sooo my new temp will be like this,

120 mace
120 bushido
90 tactics
99 necro
80 healing
61 anat
75 chiv (never fail divine, shouldn't really be using it tho so could probably take the extra 10 from here =/
110 resist (cant go less cus i dont want a curse to ever bring me below 140 dex, and i will have 151 total dex)

jewels are:
dci15 dex8 pr7 healing15 anatomy10
hci15 dci11 di21 dex8 healing10

which brings me now to hci35 dci45 di96, everything else the same xept im also taking a hit to mana from 67 to 60, blah!

80 is needed to rez

90 is never fail

-------------
120 mace
120 bushido
90 tactics
99 necro
80 healing
61 anat
75 chiv (never fail divine, shouldn't really be using it tho so could probably take the extra 10 from here =/
110 resist (cant go less cus i dont want a curse to ever bring me below 140 dex, and i will have 151 total dex
----------------

If this is the route you take

You - NEED- at least 90 anat heal tactics
bonus to heal amount at both being GM
90 heal 90 anat or higher always if you have both

Chiv will remove curse. You don't need resist for PvM

120 mace
120 bush
100 necro
120 tact
100 anat
100 heal
70 chiv

yes dump the resist as you wont need it. You will heal thru the poison in vamp form and any paras will be gone in an instant once the mob hits or casts on you. if you build your suit right you wont need any resists on your jewels either. you also dont need that much mana, 50 will do fine. If you build your weapons with ml, then mana really is not an issue. I would try to max hci at 45 and you should try to get stam as close to 180 as possible. having LMC on your suit is a good option as well. Just my thoughts.

I'm not sure if 90/gm anat is worth it.. even with 120 tactics it only equates to about 10 extra damage. Since I dont really care about res (chiv takes care of that) and the extra 8-10 damage healed is not that big of a deal, whats the point!

AND what's with this drop your resist business :) I understand chiv will remove curse but when you're fighting a spell casting mob it seems theyre constantly weakening or casting clumsy on you, so i would be like removing curse every few seconds ;p when will i ever have a chance to beat them up!

but seriously is it worth trading in resists potential to never go below 4 second heals plus significantly reduce other debuffs for an extra 10 damage? and doesn't it also reduce the damage taken from blood oath?

I dunno i guess something to consider , :)

i agree, probably went overboard on the mana and should aim for max hci - stam is 188 :)

couple things,

spellcasting critters might be throwing curses at you but through use of elemental weaps and slayers they will die pretty easily. the exception would be a boss, you can bring apples and remove curse when needed.

are you planning on using this in spawns? chiv res in fel is a no-no. ive been popped twice now at 1hp by faction oranges right after chiv ressing someone. i put healing back on again they won't pull that again. also chiv res doesn't work on reds.

most people stone anat off and on for resist if needed. only certain encounters really require it, like necro mobs to avoid the bloodoath. you'll still be using apples and cleansing winds however. even 120 resist won't stop you from needing apples/cleanse winds- just get used to having to use them IMO :)

i dont have resist on my sampire and when i use healing (depending on what im hunting i swap out ss, parry and healing) i dont have a problem with being cursed. Remember you are relying on vamp embrace as your primary healing, and healing skill as back up. Confidence, close wounds are also possibilities to help back up healing. You can also use pots. For a sampire them more damage you do = more life leeched so I would say that 10 points here or there can make a difference and I would rather have that then worry about being cursed. Plus if you are hunting with another person if you xheal then curse, clumbsy does not really matter as you have 2 sec bandage.

Now THAT confused me... Why would he say the guy wouldn't need resist for
PvM? I get hit by magic spells from all kinds of Monsters...

And could someone explain about the apples and cleansing wind?

Thanks.

just thought of something. if u run 80 healing but always use enhanced bandages does that act like 90 healing?

My impression is, you heal like 80, but the damage healed is equivalent to if you had 90.

Thus little to no ressurection success, you're better off not curing poisons, if you get hit, you could fail (but is rare), but you heal extra damage.

But I have literally no information to back up that statement outside of a very old five on friday.
