Sup guys, was thinkin about comin back to play for a bit. Hows siege been lookin lately? still as dead at it was a year or so ago? Any thieves still active? How are the pickens?

There are a few thieves around. However, according to the few thief posts I've seen, you are only allowed to steal certain items from certain players. Seems the "community" on Siege Perilous demands some sort of insurance for events and new players.

On one hand this "community" bashes production shard players because they have insurance. However, on the other hand, they quickly lash out at those who steal from members of [NEW] or players participating in EM events. Stating that it's in bad taste and that those thieves are bad/newb/dumb/ insert some other derogatory comment. What they should be doing is educating those [NEW] players on the risks of Siege and not blame the thieves for doing what thieves do...stealing!


That, my friend, is your state of the game for Siege Perilous. But, if you're indeed a thief, sounds like there are quite a few dumbasses on the shard keeping lots of items in their packs... might be a good time to take those items off their hands

lol, sounds about like how it used to be. i only steal from the NEW higher ups, or the ones with **** worth stealing (at that point, they are no longer new to the server).

what do you mean insurance for events? they expect to not be robbed at a mass meeting?

is barter town still up?

There's a handful of us left on the shard now, been trying to get all the thief guilds (the majority of which have a total of 1 player) into a single alliance lately to have a handy method of chat, and to share certain resources (rune libs, teleporters)

Barter town is pretty much gone, AFAIK as far as the big houses go only Jareth's house is still standing (i saw him a few months back, said he was going to start playing more "soon") Smurfy replaced the cabin and a few of the 7x7's are still there. THIEF pretty much died when both chad and vanessa went absent (nobody could guild anyone into either the main or sub-guild) but we build new guilds to fill the void.

Here's some insider guild history:

Yeah, when I had to go, I asked everyone what they wanted to do with the guild and I had 3 options:

1) Shut down the guild. I'd kick everyone off the stone and let them all form their own guild if they wanted to.
2) Name someone else as guildmaster. I'd promote them to guildmaster status and they could run it however they wanted to.
3) Set a bunch of people to Emissary status, keep my as guildmaster (even though I wouldn't be playing), and let them all run the guild that way.

They all picked #3. So in January 2010 there were 5 Emissaries:

1) Tony Emerald
2) Ash
3) Jareth
4) Enkil Visigoth
5) Vanessa

It lasted a few months, but eventually they all stopped posting steals and lost touch with everyone. I just logged in and set everyone who logged on in 2011 to emissary:

1) Ash
2) Enkil Visigoth
3) Jareth
4) Tony Emerald
5) WaVy GrAvY
6) Cheks Miks
7) Jose Muerto

so if there are any thieves out there that want to join, look for these guys.

I disagree. i knew theives were there and they stole both my event sandels. but what the hay - so what. i offered to buy back and theives didnt want to sell. I also posted about theives should not target NEW as they are in guild only 1 month but what the hay, i also said that they can if they want to. no biggie.

I have seen alot of dumbass's come and get high end stuff stolen and looted. I am like - whatever, you got to learn to play with alittle respect and knowledge of what people do here or your gonna go winning back to wow.

this latest thief is the same as the rest. he steals, he trashes, he grieves. people get over it.
if sell-back is too high then dont buy back, just move on.

ROFL, you would have never lasted back in the day. You would have tucked tail and headed back to your prodo shard...la
