I may be seeing this wrong but I really don't think so. Did we not have a huuuuuggeee discussion on NOT making New Mag into Luna2 and now they are adding new vendor features in new Mag. This seems REALLY bad....

ahhh come to think of it your right we did and well hmmm ahhh wait nvm I guess as usual they seem to know what we want and whats good for us better than the last 10k or so subs left. I stopped trying to figure them out long ago I am not a conspiracy theorist but some times I feel like one of those wackos because I ofter find myself saying "Are they deliberately trying to make people quit so they can close this game down finally?"
People thought that would happen with the player housing. On Great Lakes it didn't, and as far as I know it has not happened on any shard.
I'm at-best indifferent to the new proposal, but fear of Luna 2 is not among the reasons for that.

Magincia on GL is dead.
Theres a few vendor houses, but not waht they expected it to be i bet.
They gambled and hoped it would turn into another Luna, players that is who payed large sums of gold for some..
Magincia would be beter off as a comunaty area or maybe RP.
Its nice some spots for quiet housing.
Maybe they should revamp few other towns to like Magincia..
And yes ive thought also that maybe they want people to stop playing so they could end UO, but thats the aliens making me think that...puts tinfoil hat back on...

My answer was....It will be what we make of it.
I've been happy with GL's answer. Some vendors, not a new Luna, most houses seem appropriate to Magincia. I'd be hard-pressed to call it dead; unless of course one expected it to be another Luna, and Luna's the standard.
As to this new proposal....Off-hand it doesn't seem quite appropriate, somehow.

This. If it becomes Luna2 then it's not the devs fault but the players.
However I fail to see how pet and commodity brokers is such a bad idea. Luna will still be popular for player vendors regardless of how it turns out though.

if you listen to a few of the recent interveiws a couple of the devs have used the word "New Luna" a couple of times" so think about that
Kind of irrelevant. Luna became what it has by the players essentially turning it into a player market themselves. All the devs can do is nudge, what becomes of it is the players choices. If few players there wish to set up vendors then the whole idea of this "new luna" vanishes. These brokers wont replace luna vendors, they only sell/buy commodities and pets. Everything else is up to vendors setup by players.
Luna by design was set to be a vendor city.
Just look at how its was layed out...some spot more favored then because of view..
Having almost every npc seller in a small area and a moongate dead middle made Luna what it is.
Not the players realy, but the DEV,s or who ever came upi with it.
As for Magincia , yes its up to the players, and i hope it turns into something nice.
I myself like the way its layed out.
I always enjoyed a small town feal to places, without all the neon signs blinding you to shop here or there.
As for the stalls, i think there nice, they will be busy first few month or two.
But then that depends on on the players also...
But with summer comming UO dies down , and will have to wait till fall to see what happens..

Yet he had gold ingots at a higher buy then sell option??

Did not one of the Devs(in the video) specifically say it would Not be Luna 2?
It was another Fail, but it'll be the Players fault because it's a "player Driven town".
I say well played by the designers - built in 'fault-control'.

I love my mag home the way it is, if it turned into another Luna I would sell up and move on.

1) Overpriced, very, by players who think everyone else has gazillions in gold.
2) Many, many, empty vendors.
3) Way too much false advertising or lazy players (Don't change shop titles)
Luna or Loona, is for the lazy. Luna is for the "look at me, I need attention, cause mommy & daddy don't give it to me" crowd.
Luna, has taken a game that was once about exploring and adventuring, and converted it into a "I have to have this item" or "How much pixel gold can you really brag about"

I pray it does become Luna 2 so all the overprice homes & vendors in luna faulter....
It has happened to me twice, I had a minning house next to the NW cave in Brit when it was popular. Then i had (still have) the closet shop to Minoc Cave, which is out of business thanks to Luna.
I think Luna has drained us enough of our money and its time for a new crew to take over in New Mag (Luna 2)
